CHAPTER 111: LET’S TRUST THEM

[Outside the tower, at the Trailblaze’s base.]

"The children have been away for a while now. Do you think they are doing well?" Izzy’s mother was concerned about the children, and she wasn’t really the only one.

"It’s been a week here so about twenty days in the tower. I guess they should be doing the practice that they mentioned." Ziggy’s mother was also worried about the kids but that did not mean she had stopped working.

They all knew how hard their children were working and if the kids were doing so much just so that the others could do well outside the tower, they had the responsibility to look after the things that they had left behind for them.

"That’s right ladies. They must be doing well... knowing them, they must be having fun in one way or another." Izzy’s father, the Captain, was aware of how the three of them were different from the other players.

Not only they knew about the game more than anyone else did, they had the skills to back their knowledge.

They had raised them to stand against any danger while looking the danger right in the eye. They raised them to be the tigers that tear apart their enemies without mercy.

They were cubs to them, but for the world, they were the pillars that they would depend on one way or another.

"Kai and Iz were in the 12th city, right? And Ziggy is in the 30th one. Hmm... how does the system assign the players their cities?

Is there a criteria or does it do a simple random selection?" Izzy’s mother was wondering how the system worked.

In the past few days, she had learned a lot of new things about the system and how things worked within it.

"Don’t start with these things again, dear. I know you will go and start simulating new scenarios again.

Just focus on those plants like you’re supposed to, alright? You can think about how the system works later."

Izzy’s dad was not the only one that was worried about their obsessive wives. Even Ziggy’s father was worried after seeing the look of interest on his wife.

"You two were developing a potion, weren’t you? How far have you come, ladies?" Ziggy’s father asked as he looked around at the lab they were in.

There were various plants set on the tables at different intervals in flowerpots. These plants weren’t something one usually finds in their world so it was obvious they had come from the tower.

According to KiRA’s recipe, these plants were usually used in the tower’s basic alchemy. The potions that they received as a reward for small quests were made with these plants and the ladies had been trying to grow the plants outside the tower.

They had already succeeded in recreating the basic potions, but they weren’t satisfied with the effects that were received from these potions.

They weren’t as effective as the original potions so they were in the process of perfecting their potions, and at the same time, the two nerdy ladies were trying to create different hybrids of the plants.

"It’s not working, haaa... we have tried a bunch of things but unless we get a good amount of Mana extracted from these plants, making a proper potion seems to be difficult.

I’m not good with that kind of stuff and neither is Aurelia. However, I guess if Izzy does it, it will work much better... I just don’t like how only those with proper Mana affinity could work with these things."

Ziggy’s mother, Suzen, did not like this discrimination.

Why was it that only those with a certain level of Mana affinity could work with things like potions and special medicines?

Why couldn’t someone like them with a different area of expertise do what those mages and alchemists were able to?

"We are going to develop an item that could do the Mana extraction from these plants properly. If we could make it efficient and pocket friendly, we should be able to Mass produce these potions."

Mass production was their goal from the start anyway.

They needed to make big profits for the guild and getting alchemists and mages that could make potions was going to be a tough task.

They had just finished their permanent recruitment and their guild’s inauguration ceremony was still pending. They will still need a few more weeks before they could start the training and unless the 3rd floor is cleared, they aren’t going to have any breathing room for proper production.

"If we could just get a good look at how the mages use Mana, we should be able to make something that’s usable with things in the bunker." Izzy’s mother was a tech nerd so she was the one that made stuff.

On the other hand, Ziggy’s mother was a softwear nerd so she had been more into analysis and stuff.

The two were always learning from each other and improving in areas they lacked, enhancing their skills further.

Since it was possible to get new skills, they were researching how the various aspects of the system and status window’s elements worked.

They were doing what the researchers of the A2P2 were doing, but on a different scale, with different skills, and different equipment.

They shouldn’t be saying this, but they knew more about many things thanks to the way they did things and thanks to the support of their children.

They were helping them understand the things that those who had never played the game were unaware of, they also gave them money and items for the development of this base and even as parents, they did not know how to repay them.

"They will be here in a few days. Let’s trust them and do our work." Ziggy’s father left first to take care of the monsters that had appeared in a distant part of the city like he had been doing for a while now.

"If it’s about Mana, there’s a girl that came in recently. Kai asked me to introduce you two a while back so if you’re free, we could go meet her." Kai had specifically asked Izzy’s dad to introduce the ladies with Miss Moon.

He needed to do this because of a certain history the mother of Miss Moon and his aunt had. Izzy’s mom was also involved in this indirectly so it was best to introduce the three carefully.

Kai knew how much Miss Moon was going to help them going forward, so it was absolutely necessary that the ladies work well with one another.

"Hmm? Why didn’t I know about this?"

"Who’s this girl? Don’t tell me Kai was serious about recruiting that Witch’s spawn?!"

They were quick to catch onto these kinds of things, so... the Captain will have to be even more careful with this matter.
