CHAPTER 123: THE HIDDEN BARGAIN

[An unknown location: ]

Imagine darkness.

An empty room with no light.

Now put stars in this darkness: Red, blue, yellow, green, purple, all kinds of stars, so many of them that they completely cover a part of the room.

Let us say the part that is covered by these colourful stars is the centre of the darkness, a hypothesised centre that isn’t actually the centre of the place, as the endless space has no start or beginning.

Relative measurements do not apply in this space. Thus, we shall call the star-covered space the centre.

Now, imagine a being sitting in this center— a humanoid being with ethereal features.

Numerous eyes and numerous limbs, an uncertain number of faces, and a non-discernible attractiveness.

As difficult as it may be to actually picture this being, it would be even more difficult to actually endure their presence, their Divinity.

They were the master of this space, the owner of this darkness, the owner of these stars, the owner of this certain Aspect of the tower.

A mortal or finite being would neither be able to comprehend this being, nor could they maintain their sanity once exposed to their ethereal form.

Yet...

[{( "You are quite something, Mortal." )}]

Right now, before this being, before this divinity, a Mortal was standing with her deep eyes looking directly into the numerous eyes of the Divinity.

She has just walked out of a spatial tear that opened without the permission of the master of this space.

Her blue hair reached down her waist, and she wore a white cardigan, an old-looking piece of clothing that the Divinity could instantly identify as an [Archaic] relic.

There were not many such relics in the tower, even someone like her was envious of this strange mortal possessing this Treasure.

This being... This blue-haired mortal did not possess Divinity, and yet she was enduring the divine presence of this multifaceted presence.

The Divine could only be intrigued by this mortal. But then again, this mortal had appeared within their domain uninvited, something no mortal or even a

Divinity should have been allowed to do.

"It is a great honour of mine to be in the presence of the [Moon’s Guardian]. I request thee to overlook my ignorance and transgression."

The Divinity spoke in their True voice, something that should have induced an eternal loneliness and emptiness within a finite individual, but the blue-haired mortal did not seem to be affected by her words, much less her Divine authority.

She wasn’t just enduring her divine presence; she almost seemed to be immune to it.

[{( "Hmmm... what an interesting mortal." )}]

The infinite eyes of this divine being were warm as they gazed down on the tiny mortal.

In this eternal darkness filled with countless stars, the mortal standing before them was as small as a speck of dust before a gigantic mammoth.

The divinity was unfashionable in comparison to the blue-haired mortal, yet the mortal stood there, a look of respect present on her rather attractive face.

[{( "Hmmm... an Inheritor. No, you seem to be an original Pinnacle owner." )}]

Nothing could be hidden from the eyes of a true divinity. Within this Tower, only the most confidential of the truths could ever stay hidden from the eyes of a Primordial like the one before her.

[{( "It is fascinating how someone possesses a Pinnacle and still retains their mortality. Huhu, One certainly had many things left to witness in this tower." )}]

With the many eyes, the ethereal being softened their gaze and looked at the fascinating creature, asking her to speak of what she had come here for.

"I have come to bargain, Great Lady." The A2P2 president, Lucy, finally revealed her intention for this sudden visit.

Her eyes, as she presented the reason for her visit, remained unchanged, and as they looked straight at the divinity, they presented a hint of confidence, a look that the [Moon’s Guardian] found quite delightful.

"With regards to the 3rd Floor, I seek the management rights to the Event: Night Of The Red Moon." Her demand was not something simple, though.

The divine being looked at her with a new, puzzled expression, not understanding what this was all about.

"In exchange for obtaining the Management rights of the event, which currently belong to one of your Avatars, I offer the [#&@*#&@], the Truth of the First Night."

Her words were straightforward, spoken with a great calmness and confidence.

The divine being that listened to this absurd offer could not fathom what this mortal girl was seeking by offering a [Truth] every ruler of darkness and night would pay any price for.

An insignificant event on one of the lowest floors did not mean much to a primordial being like this one; however, a Truth that no one should even know about was a precious treasure.

"One such as yourself must already know I possess the Truth, and my presence here should prove my legitimacy as well." President Lucy did not come here to beat around the bush.

She was after something. And she was going to take it with her, though, at a reasonable price.

Even the divine that possessed an unimaginable amount of resources would never make a losing deal.

[{( "Hmmm..." )}]

The divinity maintained its gaze on her for a little longer.

They moved their countless hands and played with the countless stars around them as if searching for something.

Then, they closed many of their eyes and collected their divine power to call forth an Avatar, a callipygian woman, a buxom deity with silver hair resembling moonlight, and blue eyes reflecting serene waters lit by the moonlight.

The avatar, the representation of the divinity’s mortal form, bowed to the Divine and descended to the floorless surface of this endless space.

[{( "How about we see the Truth first, unique mortal?" )}]

The deity was the one that possessed what President Lucy was looking for.

And since the Divinity had summoned her Avatar here, the deal was already initiated.

"Certainly," She was happy to show her side of the goods.

After all, she did not need any of these precious truths that all these Divine beings were eternally and desperately craving for...

She was a mortal and one responsible for countless lives back on Earth.

Their world was more precious to her than any ’truth’ that she could obtain in the future.

She was doing it for the sake of her world, however... no one would know about her sacrifices anytime soon.
