CHAPTER 56: 1ST FLOOR CLEARED

"Can you keep it busy for three minutes... no, just for one minute?" Avoiding the wheel of flames, he asked the professor while stepping up on a falling cliff and jumped away from the ground.

The professor was floating in the air, his body levitating with his special cape that he got from the association.

It was a special item with a levitating ability, so he was safer compared to him who only had his movement skill to avoid the fire and the falling cliffs.

There was utter chaos around them.

The goat was not the worst enemy right now, it was the terrain advantage that this creature had.

Keeping the aggro on one person and dealing with damage were two things that would not have been possible without the right synergy between the challengers.

And while unexpected, Zyon and the professor were a great duo.

"I can’t promise it but I will try my best! Do you have a way, captain?!"

"Yes! We can do this!"

Unlike his uncertain answer, Ziggy was confident. He knew he could take that thing down... he was about to use his last resort, something he did not think he’d be using here.

But he nodded at the professor and stepped back.

"Let’s play a game, miss goat!" The professor used a large amount of his Mana and launched an attack.

-Oooooooooong!

"Miiiiiii!"

The goat screed and just barely avoided the attack, but now its aggro was shifted to the Professor.

"Kai... hopefully you wanted this from the start."

Taking out a cube from his inventory, a golden, translucent cube that seemed strangely attractive for some reason, he started pouring every bit of Aura he had left inside of him.

-Oooooooooooong!

The amount of energy required to activate this item was crazy at their levels. He knew what he had left wasn’t going to be enough so he wasn’t using just his Aura.

-Zaaaaa...!

He pulled in the atmospheric Mana, the flames that the goat had just left scattered around, and poured them all into the cube.

-Oooooooooong!

On the other hand, the professor was getting beaten up. The goat’s attacks weren’t difficult to avoid since both of them were airborne, however, the fire was still hot and the mage did not have an infinite Mana.

-Zaaaaaa...!

The cube continued gathering the energy and glowed brighter and brighter.

-Oooooooooong!

Half a minute passed, and the professor started feeling each and every moment was as long as an hour.

"Miiiiiiiii...!"

Keeping the aggro on the goat was so tough that his entire body was in pain right now.

He could feel the Mana in his body moving strangely. Not much was left, and he could not control what was left in there.

"Captain...!"

A few more seconds passed and the professor knew he could not take it anymore.

The goat had almost completely caught on fire, the entire body of the goat was burning, the fur that was as white as snow covered mountains as charred as cole.

The three eyes that had been gold were now as red as the flames that had started losing their bright orange.

The place that seemed like a fantastical wasteland was now a hell... and in this hell, the A2P2 would have lost their most prominent mage player... had the raid team captain not finished on time.

"Alright! Get away from it, Professor!!!"

The cube had turned into a ball of light at this point, a ball that was brimming with condensed energy.

"Ughhhh...!"

By the time he got the signal though, the Professor had already started spitting blood. The Mana inside of him was not stable either.

"Professor...!"

Some of the brave members of the raid team went in and rescued the professor while the goat was distracted by something strange in the vicinity.

"Aghhhhhhh...!"

The ball of light was not just a light. It was a power that the goat recognized instinctively. A power that was strong... very strong.

-Oooooooooooong!

"Miiiiiiiii...!"

The goat knew it should get away from it, that it should run away from there if it wanted to live.

Sadly for it... Its life was over the moment it had set itself on fire.

-ZAAAAAAA...!

Instead of letting it live and making it go through eternal suffering, Zyon did it a favor.

"REST IN PEACE!"

He jumped in, and the ball of light turned into an axe of judgment, as bright as the axe of a heavenly executioner.

He used the last drop of Aura that he had saved for the last skill activation and moved in a way that gave the goat no chance to escape.

"Miiiiiiiiiii...!"

Then, he swung it.

-Swap!

He swung the axe of judgment and became the executioner.

-ZAAAAAAA...!

He swung it and rained down hell-calming blood so red... it first painted his own body crimson before the flame-covered ground.

-Shrrrrrrr...

-Ptptptpt...

The bloody rain lasted for a strong second.

-Thud.

Then, the body of the goat fell to the ground.

-Thad.

Then fell the charred body...

-Thum.

And lastly, the executioner who did not have any energy or strength left in him.

"Captain!"

"Captain Zyon...!"

"Healer! Get potions...!"

The party rushed to their captain, however, when they reached him and found the blood-covered swordsman, they found a smile on his face.

[Ding!]

A golden notification window was present before his face.

[Ding!]

A golden status window that was present in front of every single person all around the world and present inside the tower at the moment.

[1st Floor of the Tower of Cessation has been cleared.]

Humanity had just taken their first step towards a new journey...

A journey that will only get increasingly hellish with each one of the floors.

"We... we did it..."

"We did it!"

"Yeah...!"

The A2P2 party celebrated their conquest. While on the other hand, there were many who weren’t as pleased with these results.

"How...?! Just how is that possible?!" The captain of the Eastern alliance was furious. His Aura became so uncontrollable at that point that his subordinates around them fell unconscious from the sheer force of it.

"Hmm. We shall halt the search here." The Dame of the North would need to step out of the tower now. This was no small matter, though it most certainly was unpleasant.

"Oh?" Outside the tower, Iz raised her eyebrow with a smile on her face.

’Our big brother actually did it, huh?’

She was now a clan leader, an official guild master.

There were still some things she needed to take care of, but this was a moment of celebration as well.

"Yes!!"

"We’ve done it! At last, we’ve finished it!"

So, she was going to celebrate, just like the dwarven masters were doing right now at the creation of a kind of item so unique... they were perhaps the first ones to create something so special in this era.
