CHAPTER 62: THE HERO, THE HELPER, AND THE ANOMALY

The attack from the demoness came from the back.

She used her demonic energy and slashed at all three of them at once. They weren’t caught off guard though.

-Ooooooooong!

KiRA’s wrist guards turned into a translucent shield and blocked the demonic attack.

Following that, Zyon used his footwork technique and vanished like a gale.

The demoness was still stronger, faster, and more powerful than all three of them stat wise.

Even though she had strictions on her, the stats of the demons were nearly four times the stat strength of the humans. They were stronger with stronger skills so even with the restrictions, she was not easy to deal with.

-Swish!

KiRA guarded Iz while Ziggy moved with his footwork skill and created some distance between them.

Izzy did not need his protection anymore since the battle had begun already. She urged KiRA to move forward and with a nod in her direction, he did just that.

"Protect her, Uni."

"Vivi!"

KiRA left the bird to Iz and moved with the same skill that Ziggy was using.

The gale that was created beneath his feet was not as strong as Zyon’s but the way he was controlling the winds to move much faster than the Hero made it possible for him to reach the Demoness before him.

{ "Tsk...!" }

With buffs from Unity and Isah, both of them engaged in a fierce fight for a moment, however, neither the demon made any contact with the sword, nor the demon’s attacks managed to reach the two of them.

The three simply continued fighting against one another with the demoness not paying attention to the girl.

Even though Isah was defenceless right now and the demoness could use her to get rid of the two boys, she chose to stay away from her due to Unity’s presence.

She did not know what would happen to her if she got near that creature. And she sure as hell did not want to find the answer to that.

She instead chose to deal with the two boys first.

But even that was proving out to be difficult.

"Kekeke. Did you not learn anything in the demonic realm? You don’t fight one with a holy sword directly. Are your horns just for decoration? Or are you one of those with their head in their toes?" KiRA began his provocation.

However it did not seem as effective as he had hoped.

"Are you deaf as well? Did the master of Lust not teach you anything~?"

{ "...?! What?! What are you talking about?!" }

The demoness was getting affected, surely. The expression on her face and her movements were a little different after he said those things.

But that lasted only for a moment.

She returned to normal and soon started dealing with him instead.

-Ooooooooooong!

Demonic energy wasn’t her only power. She had mental skills as well.

Majority of her skills affect a person’s being, but since those skills weren’t going to work against someone with Purity and Holy power, she attacked KiRA with the only physical skill she had, the {Form shift} that shifted her arms into something like a snake.

-Swiiiiiiiiiish!

With the distance created between them, she moved in a way that made it possible for her to look after both of them.

The holy sword was a problem and the Holy power was a bigger problem. She did not want to get hit by either of those deadly energies.

-Swish! Swish! Swish!

She maintained the distance and enhanced her body with demonic energy. The attacks that she would deal could corrupt even those with holy power so she needed just a few attacks.

That much would be more than enough for the time being. If she could just deal with the boy with the sword, she will have one less problem to worry about.

Dealing with this one possessing Purity and Holy power was the most difficult task, but even that was possible as long as she maintained her distance.

In the hell, she had fought countless battles against even those who she could not use her enchanting powers on.

She had developed other methods to deal with beings like that so she just needed one opening to take the three of them down... if she could get into their heads, she knew she would win this battle.

But she needed to wait for the right moment for that.

"You don’t even look like a demon. Were your parents actually not demons? Hahaha, you’re more like a scared kitten with past trauma~. Were you a slave of someone~?"

KiRA may not be as good at insulting the demons as Lloyed, he could at least provoke this demoness.

She wasn’t getting irritated by what he was saying but just because he was saying all those things while she was trying hard to get rid of the two of them.

She knew it was a big mistake to not look at the girl and the creature with her, but she did not pay attention to them.

They were a threat bigger than the two of them but if they cannot catch her movements, there was nothing he needed to worry about.

The girl and the bird may be strong, they weren’t as quick on their feet as the two of these boys.

She made them her priority and prepared her skills. Even if she could not deal with the two of them directly, they could not deal with her as simply as they wished either.

-Ooooooooooooooong!

At the end of the day, she was also a demoness and one that was chosen by the Lust. She fought with the dignity of a demon and did not care about battle ethics.

-Zaaaaaaaaa...!

To use her surroundings to her advantage, she infused the entire ground under them with demonic energy and corrupted it. If they stepped on this murky ground now, they would get affected by it even with their skills and powers.

"That’s not going to work, demon." KiRA was prepared for this move, however.

He used a skill that he could not use while the others were using, a skill that he got unexpectedly. A flashy skill that would attract a little too much attention. And as its level increases, the skill would only attract more attention.

’{Halo of Pure Light}.’

It was a flashy skill.

One that he would not use unless he was certain about the consequences it would have on his public image.
