Tower's Richest Player: My Coins Won't Stop Increasing
Chapter 79: I don’t think I’m obligated to.
CHAPTER 79: I DON’T THINK I’M OBLIGATED TO.
(In some other part of the forest, 2nd floor.)
"Captain Zyon?" An individual in the association’s official scouting uniform approached the group.
"Hmm?"
Zyon was with a few of the association newbies right now, teaching them as they cleared their quests on the 2nd floor.
He was already done with his quest and he was doing his work as the association’s main raid team’s captain for a few days now.
Their team had already cleared out a few of the field bosses and there was no threat in most of the areas around them.
The monsters were under control and the association parties were constantly looking after the players, the newbies, as well as the people that were from the other organisations.
They knew how there were criminals around this floor as well, but Zyon and his parties weren’t in charge of them. There were other people from the association who looked after the criminals and activities related to the criminals, the person that was approaching him right now was one such individual.
"Can I have a moment, captain?" The members of the secret squad that carried out the clean-up duties around the floor were, on the surface, scouting units that patrolled various areas.
They were pretty strong people, talented as well. Composed mostly of [Rank-8] and led by [Rank-9] individuals, the two clean up parties were working every single day to keep the players safe from these criminals.
"What’s the matter?" Ziggy left the party in the hands of the vice-captain and walked some distance away with the scout.
Since the person was also related to the association, the newbies didn’t think much of it. It must have been related to work, perhaps.
Since they weren’t aware of the true identities of the scouts, they treated this just like an everyday happening. However, for the captain who was seeing one of these scouts for the first time, this did not seem like a good thing.
"Captain Zyon, You’re related to Isah and KiRA, correct? I will be using their IDs to keep the personal information limited." The names that came from the scout shocked Ziggy.
"Did something–!"
"Oh, please do not worry. Nothing has happened to them. The chances of something happening to the two of them are pretty small, in fact." The scout made things clear first.
There were things that would instantly catch a family member off guard. Inside the tower, there were many of the association members with family members that were also inside the tower.
With each passing day, these scouts had to come and tell them about the untimely demise of their loved ones. Seeing the people that they were working with, people that were working for the same association made even the scouts tear up sometimes.
There was something about the bad news that just didn’t sit well with any of them. But this time, the scout wasn’t here to deliver any bad news, thankfully.
"The thing is, Captain Zyon, the two of them had recently been in a fight related to a bunch of criminals." The scout informed him.
And Ziggy seemed to be aware of that information already.
"It was almost a month ago, no? Did something happen for you to bring that up right now?" Ziggy was now confused.
He first thought something had happened to the two of them but now he was unsure what was going on here.
They were talking about something that had happened a month ago. The two of them already told him about it a while back, they weren’t directly involved in the matter anyway.
So, why was this person here? And why was he bringing up that thing?
"Ah... Captain Zyon, you see, our investigation has found something strange about the two of them." The scout’s eyes hidden behind the mask got serious all of a sudden.
While it seemed like he was still doing formalities until now, it seemed like he was completely in his professional mode now.
"The two of them took down the criminals by themselves. The criminals were pretty strong so to take them down, someone had to be pretty strong themselves.
They were pretty efficient with their work as well... in fact, their work was great."
The association employee, the scout, started explaining how they had found traces of many more criminals that might be related to a certain organization.
They had already asked the party that was directly involved in the incident but they did not get any information on the two that they needed. So, now the scour was here, for information about the two of them instead of the criminals.
"Is this going to be about recruiting the two of them into the association again?" Zyon was no stranger to this.
They had tried many times, but the two of them did not want to join the association.
"It’s just about a meeting with our superiors, nothing more than that, Captain."
The scout could understand why Zyon might be upset. This was clearly not the first time something like that was happening here.
"I’m here only to ask some questions about the two-."
"You’re here to collect information for your superiors." Zyon cut him off midway. "You want to know what kind of skills they have and how they are in real life so that you can get an edge during the talks."
Zyon shook his head in disappointment once again.
"There are better things the association members should be doing, you know? Even the higher-ups are being unfair here."
He had dealt with this matter enough by now. He didn’t want to hear the same things over again.
"It’s merely about information, Captain. It’s not like you will lose-."
"I don’t think I’m obligated to answer any of your questions if it’s personal, Sir." Zyon walked away from the scout.
"If you have questions, just go and ask them yourself." He didn’t turn away to say those last few things.
"If you can, that is..."
He returned to his group and resumed his duties.
He was working right now. Personal matters can wait until he is done, but even then, he wasn’t going to entertain these things.
The association was being forceful right now, and he simply did not like that.
