Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All
Chapter 82: Stealing Little Rabbits
CHAPTER 82: CHAPTER 82: STEALING LITTLE RABBITS
Although the eggs in the space are fed with chicken feed, it doesn’t matter, there’s the Spiritual Spring water, and so many bugs.
Regardless of other factors, the eggs in the space have been improved over generations and specially cultivated. Whether it’s the chicken or the eggs, they are much larger than ordinary native chickens.
Just because they’re big! It’s sure to make everyone like them a lot.
However, Xiaomi is not sure if those eggs can really hatch, so she only swapped a few in each clutch.
Actually, this winter isn’t the best time for hatching chicks, but the two hens happened to be brooding.
Hens are not so diligent in laying eggs in winter, and they stop laying for a while when brooding, just right for hatching chicks. At worst, they can be kept indoors when the time comes.
"Xiaomi, come out, we are going back."
Erni picked a few more eggs from the coop, her favorite thing was collecting eggs every day, sometimes she could get eight or nine a day.
There are now around a dozen chickens at home, nine hens. Aside from the two brooding ones, the other seven are laying eggs.
There’s also the wild chickens. A dozen or so hatchlings were successfully reared under Dawa and Erni’s careful care, and they are now chubby, though not laying eggs yet.
Seeing the eggs in her sister’s arms, Xiaomi exclaimed, "So many eggs."
There were six in total, one of which was a wild egg.
After Xiaomi came out, Erni closed the chicken coop door, "Yeah, we didn’t collect them in the morning. We already have a lot of eggs at home. Dad said he’ll take us to Xiangma Town tomorrow. Excited, Xiaomi?"
"Excited!" Xiaomi nodded vigorously, "Buy some good food!"
Though Xiangma Town isn’t big, it’s bustling, especially since the weather turned cooler, they’ve only been there once.
Xiaomi hasn’t been to town to play for over a month.
The sisters took the eggs and put them into two jars in the kitchen. A small jar was specifically for wild eggs, and a larger one for domestic chicken eggs.
"So many eggs." Xiaomi feigned surprise, reaching into the jar to sneakily put in the ten eggs she swapped out earlier, without Erni noticing.
Erni: "Yes, once we sell them tomorrow and make some money, I’ll buy you candies, Xiaomi."
Erni just covered the jar with the wild eggs and then turned to cover the other one, completely unaware that there were ten more eggs in this jar.
Xiaomi nodded with a smile, "Okay, candies."
Although she’s not particularly fond of candies, in Erni’s eyes, they’re the tastiest things.
Xiaomi thought, when there’s a chance in the future, she’ll let Erni try all the various kinds of candies from the space!
After placing the eggs, Erni went to feed the rabbits. Even though it’s winter, there were still plenty of dandelions and wild vegetables, which the rabbits liked to eat.
Xiaomi followed Erni, her parents were used to it, knowing Xiaomi couldn’t sit still, but they had no idea what mischief she was up to.
There were still a bunch of cabbages in her space, and recently they had plenty of vegetables at home. Every time they ate cabbages, given a chance, she’d swap them with those from the space.
However, there are so many cabbages in the space, along with those swapped from outside, it felt wasteful to just keep them there.
So, Xiaomi set her sights on the family rabbits.
Rabbits eat grass and cabbages too. She wanted to find a chance to sneak a couple of month-old bunnies into the space.
Oh, and she’s eyeing the wild and baby chickens too.
There was still plenty of open space in the space, the supplies only took less than a third of the area even when scattered and categorized on the ground.
Besides the yard and land, there was still lots of space, and the ground had topsoil with a thin layer of turf growing on it.
Where she piled the supplies was on unrecognizable stone ground.
Recently, she researched the space thoroughly, the vegetable garden in front of the yard was prime black soil, while the other areas were just ordinary soil.
Moreover, her consciousness in the space wasn’t just about organizing supplies or controlling objects that simply.
She consciously fenced a plot on the turf beside, sowed cabbage seeds, and watered them, now they’re lush green.
But Xiaomi was certain, when she sowed seeds, because of poor control, a lot spilled outside, yet apart from the designated plot, not a single sprout elsewhere.
She even found the seeds she sowed outside and re-sowed them in her designated plot, and they sprouted within days!
Therefore, Xiaomi suddenly realized one thing.
In this space, she’s like an absolute god. Anything growing inside can’t even sprout without her permission!
So right now, Xiaomi wants to try raising a few chickens and rabbits in the space.
Especially the hens, she had so many eggs waiting to hatch in the space!
Quail eggs and pigeon eggs would easily be discovered by her parents if placed in the home coop, but if raised in the space, there’d be nothing to worry about!
However, there’s an important issue, can these chicks and bunnies enter the space?
After all, she can’t physically enter the space, only her consciousness can!
"Xiaomi, why are you staring at the bunnies, do you really like them?"
The furry little bunny was handed to Xiaomi, her eyes lit up, "Thank you, Erni."
She carefully cradled the bunny in her arms, petting it, its fur was so soft, very comforting.
"Erni, I want to go inside too," Xiaomi looked at Erni eagerly.
The rabbit pen had many burrows, if not careful, stepping on them would cause a fall.
So far, Xiaomi was not allowed inside the rabbit pen, she could only watch from outside.
Erni hesitated for a moment, then opened the pen, "Be careful, don’t trip."
"Thank you, Erni!" Xiaomi nodded happily.
Erni not only had to feed the rabbits but also tidy up inside, removing leftover stems and rabbit droppings.
After letting Xiaomi in and seeing her carefully approach the rabbit nest, she felt at ease to continue her work.
Xiaomi was overjoyed, still holding the bunny in her arms, she turned away from Erni, found the sensation to control the space, and with a thought, the bunny in her arms disappeared.
Success!
Xiaomi was instantly overjoyed, took a few quick steps to the haystack, where several month-old bunnies were munching on tender dandelion leaves.
"Come here, my darlings!" Her tone was just like someone coaxing a child!
The next moment, Xiaomi quickly grabbed a bunny and whisked it into the space.
