CHAPTER 19: LET’S SEE HOW YOU PERFORM

As she left the room, Ruan Li turned her head and looked at him one last time.

"Those scars, they’re beautiful."

The door closed slowly, and Bai He’s figure vanished from sight, leaving a moment of bewilderment.

She seemed to have really changed, not acting, but like a Nirvana Fire Rebirth.

What exactly happened on that day?

When Ruan Li went downstairs to the living room, she found two forlorn husbands sitting at the dining table.

Shi Jue faced away from her, and if it weren’t for the slight movement of his ears, Ruan Li would have thought he hadn’t noticed her coming downstairs.

Xu Mo leaned lazily against the chair back across from her, his voice drawn out infinitely, "Oh, finally willing to come down."

"Stupid fox, shut up!" After countering Xu Mo, Shi Jue turned his gaze to Ruan Li, his eyes flickered, but he said nothing.

Upon coming down, Ruan Li had checked the Smart Brain for the time; it was already nine in the evening.

The food on the table remained untouched, obviously cold.

The two of them had waited for her, not taking a single bite.

"I’ll go heat up the dishes, and then we’ll eat together when it’s ready." Ruan Li carried the dishes into the kitchen, Shi Jue followed her with a stern expression.

"Let me do this... this is too heavy... I’ll take this too."

Ruan Li stood aside, watching as Shi Jue reheated all the dishes from the pot.

Why does it feel like he’s sulking with her? Yet, it also feels like he isn’t angry; his enthusiasm in working was quite positive.

Dinner went peacefully.

As it was still early, and they had eaten late, Ruan Li suggested, "How about we go out for a walk to digest?"

Xu Mo’s eyes curved, "Sure, Ruannuan, I’ll go out with you."

"I’m going out with Ruannuan, it was my turn to be with her today."

Xu Mo hadn’t intended to argue; he waved his hand, smiling deeply, "Be cautious at night and don’t wander too far."

The night breeze was gentle, a crescent moon hanging high.

The greenery in the neighborhood was quite good, and Ruan Li noticed the surrounding neighbors, who had suffered damages last night but were now fully rebuilt.

Shi Jue stayed by her side, his gaze steady.

Her Barbie-like face and large blue eyes sparkling as they stared at her.

Ruan Li suppressed the evil thought of wanting to pinch her little face at her innocent look, but was shocked by the mention of "baby," "You’re pregnant?"

Lan Ruo proudly pushed her flat belly forward, "Yes, it’s been just over ten days, it’s my first little one."

Ruan Li concealed her surprise, feigning calmness as she asked, "How old are you, Lan Ruo?"

"I’m twenty, Ruan Li, do you want to feel the baby?"

Ruan Li struggled to process her child-like appearance; she looked like a 15 or 16-year-old girl, but was already pregnant?

"You conceived so early..."
