Transmigrated as a Rare Female: Beast Husbands Love Me Exclusively
Chapter 79: Overnight Fortune
CHAPTER 79: CHAPTER 79: OVERNIGHT FORTUNE
"Ruannuan, I’ve seen your location; wait for a minute, the flying vehicle will land in front of you."
"Okay, I’ll wait for you guys right here."
Ruan Li hugged her arms tightly, standing in the cold wind, her gaze directed towards the city.
Thankfully, Wen didn’t come over.
A minute? She didn’t believe a robot could fly over that quickly.
In the dark night, countless red dots suddenly flickered in the sky, and Ruan Li looked up, thinking it might be some military coming.
Until Bai He’s flying vehicle landed in front of her and the cabin door opened.
A figure quickly ran toward her.
"Ruan Li! Are you okay?" Bai Ci’s hoarse voice sounded in her ear, along with his scorching body temperature and heartbeat.
Ruan Li was tightly held in his arms.
Bai He stood behind him, his figure upright, the cold wind blowing the strands of hair at his forehead, moonlight highlighting the angles of his face, "It’s good that you’re safe."
Ruan Li met his gaze and realized he had suddenly become much thinner.
Bai He had always been slender, but now his cheeks were frighteningly thin.
"Do you know you’ve been missing for ten days! Not even a message back," Bai Ci said with a mix of joy and anger, but his gaze on her face was particularly full of heartache.
He gently touched Ruan Li’s cheek, "You’ve lost so much weight." Even the soft flesh on her cheeks was gone, and holding her felt like touching bone.
What used to be a soft, snug feeling now felt painfully skinny.
Ruan Li: "You guys look thinner too."
How could they not be? For ten days, living only on a daily supply of nutrient solution, the two had been frantically searching for Ruan Li across various galaxies.
A sudden increase in wind pressure, and a giant object was slowly descending in the dark night.
Ruan Li could barely make out what it was in front of her by the moonlight.
It was actually... a small warship!
The cabin door opened, and the sound of boots clanging on steel echoed amidst the wind.
A pair of long black military boots slowly entered Ruan Li’s view.
Her gaze moved upwards.
The man’s black cape flapped in the fierce cold wind, rustling in the air; the golden ornaments on the black military uniform swayed gently with each step, and the leather gloves were removed from the long fingers, tipping a hat brim to reveal those dark, night-like eyes.
"Little Li, come here."
Lu Mufeng’s deep voice suddenly sounded in the cold wind, yet it was exceptionally reassuring.
Bai Ci released the hug but quietly took her hand, as if intentionally asserting his presence in front of the brother-in-law.
Ruan Li looked at Bai He beside her, who nodded at her.
She walked toward Lu Mufeng, calling out crisply, "Marshal Lu."
Lu Mufeng frowned slightly, "Come inside first, then talk."
He turned around, glanced at Bai Ci standing guard by Ruan Li’s side, and then walked into the small warship.
"Get in, Marshal Lu even mobilized his personal guards to find you," Bai He explained.
Ruan Li discreetly let go of Bai Ci’s hand, walked to Bai He, and took his hand. Originally as jade-like in bone, it was now skinny to the point of being just bones, feeling like holding a stick.
Ruan Li quietly traced his hand in her palm, feeling heartbroken.
Bai He reassured her with his gaze, "Let’s go home first."
Ruan Li took a few steps but suddenly stopped.
She remembered that she still owed a debt.
"What’s wrong?" Bai He asked.
Ruan Li told him about her debt of several thousand crystal cores.
Bai He pursed his lips, "You go up to the warship first, I’ll go repay the crystal cores for you."
Bai Ci seeing the two of them whispering, not knowing what they were saying, pretended to pass by casually, ears perked as he heard Bai He mention going somewhere...
"What crystal cores?" he asked casually.
Bai He said, "I’m going to deliver something for Ruannuan."
Bai Ci’s eyes lit up slightly, thinking how could he let his brother steal the chance to fawn over the little female in front of him?
"I’ll go deliver it for Ruannuan then, brother you and Ruannuan get on the warship first, I’ll catch up soon."
Bai He thought for a moment, "That beastman’s beast form is a sand dune cat, about fifteen or sixteen in appearance, runs a clinic in the city, called Su Bai Clinic, he had helped care for Ruannuan before, and she borrowed some crystal cores from him. You give him twenty Level 4 Crystal Cores as thanks."
Ruan Li didn’t know if twenty Level 4 Crystal Cores were enough to repay thousands of Level 1 Crystal Cores, so she asked Bai He, "Is that much enough?"
Bai He nodded, "It won’t be less."
So, a sand dune cat, who discovered in the middle of the night that a debt-owing little female had vanished, was suddenly struck with a bag of crystal cores from the sky, nearly blinded by the golden light.
A beastman barged into his yard, examining this shabby place with a disdainful look, "Returning what Ruan Li owed you, remember not to pester her in the future."
Then the beastman transformed into a bird and flew away, leaving Su Bai jumping up and cursing on the spot, "Oh, just because you’re a female doesn’t mean you can use crystal cores to insult a beast!"
He picked up the light package from the ground, much lighter than his ninety-nine Level 1 Crystal Cores, surely short on weight!
He just knew! A beast like him, inexperienced in the world, would be deceived by a female’s sweet words.
Su Bai’s face turned ashen as he opened the package, tremblingly, only to see twenty large and bright Level 4 Crystal Cores, which hit him with such enormous wealth that he almost fainted on the spot.
One Level 4 Crystal Core is equal to ten Level 3 Crystal Cores, one Level 3 Crystal Core is equal to ten Level 2 Crystal Cores, and one Level 2 Crystal Core is equal to ten Level 1 Crystal Cores.
Ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand...
Mom! He became rich overnight!
If only more of such wealth-bags fell to crush him.
Su Bai held onto the massive fortune, excitedly meowing in the yard, having wronged the little female, he should have known to give her all the hundred Level 1 Crystal Cores he kept hidden.
The eerie self-talk spun in the yard air continuously—
Under the silver moonlight, suddenly a perfect parabola was drawn in the sky, landing with a splat perfectly on Su Bai’s head, paired with the neighbor’s angry curse, "Thinking about females, go dream about them, what a spring fever howl for something you’ll never get, you insignificant male!"
Su Bai raged, "You’re the one in heat! You’re the insignificant male! You haven’t even touched a female’s hand, have you? I have!"
An ominous voice suddenly came from next door, "Little kitty, cry again, and I’ll ensure you don’t see the sunrise tomorrow."
Su Bai shut up, knowing that the wise man submits to circumstances, he couldn’t afford to provoke nor hide from the crocodile uncle next door, could he?
The warship took off slowly after Bai Ci returned.
Only then did Ruan Li notice that the countless red dots she had seen in the night sky were actually military flying vehicles.
Lu Mufeng lowered his head, frowned deeply, "Do you have any injuries? I brought the most comprehensive medical team, let them perform a full check-up on you."
Ruan Li nodded, casually glancing outside the glass as she passed by, catching sight of something in the desert emitting a blue glow out of the corner of her eye, she momentarily thought she was mistaken, and when she looked again, the warship had already ascended high into the sky, leaving the ground as nothing more than a vague shadow below.
