CHAPTER 661: CHAPTER 654: BY THE SEA

When Shangguan heard someone was watching, he immediately stopped eating and his eyes swept around like a radar. However, the beach was crowded, and even an infrared radar couldn’t see anything unusual.

"Feifei, stop looking. Maybe I’m overthinking it. Hurry up and eat; I specially made these this morning," Sisi did not want to dampen everyone’s fun, so she handed Shangguan some snacks.

Shangguan took the snacks and started eating, but his body remained on alert. Sisi’s intuition was always sharp; if she said someone was watching, then someone definitely was. He couldn’t be careless.

In the sea, Du Du, Mao Dou, and Tie Dan, the three older kids, were rafting under Shangguan Qing’s leadership. The other little ones were learning to swim with Tian Xinhua and Yang Shu, though they had learned at home. Practicing in the swimming pool was entirely different from the sea.

After practicing for nearly an hour, Tian Xinhua told them to come ashore and rest for a while. He also went ashore to accompany his beloved wife.

The kids were full of energy and immediately ran to the beach to build sandcastles as soon as they were ashore, having a great time.

Soon, Du Du and the others came ashore too, joining their younger siblings in playing with the sand. With Du Du and his group around, Sisi relaxed and let him watch over the kids, focusing instead on enjoying the attention from Tian Xinhua—applying sunscreen and getting a massage.

However, that lingering feeling of being watched persisted, vague but uncomfortable.

Sisi frowned slightly but put the matter aside for now. After all, there were so many people with them today that even if someone was bold, they wouldn’t dare act rashly.

Just don’t know who it might be?

Tian Xinhua’s hands began to misbehave. ’Slap,’ came a crisp sound, and Sisi playfully chided, "There are so many people here!"

Under his palm was smooth skin and the unchanged youthful face of ten years. Tian Xinhua genuinely wished he could take his wife home and spoil her, but with so many outsiders around, even with his heart burning, there was no way to quench it!

Reluctantly, he withdrew his hand and whispered teasingly next to Sisi’s ear, "How about tonight we come to the beach...?"

Tian Xinhua was merely speaking off the cuff, but once the words were out, his interest piqued. They’d been on the mountain before but never tried the seaside.

Just imagine, listening to the waves, feeling the sea breeze, and hearing Ah Nan’s soft voice. What a beautiful scenario!

The more he thought about it, the more tempted he became. Tian Xinhua wished the night would fall faster.

Sisi noticed the sly smile on Tian Xinhua’s face and knew exactly what he was thinking. She smacked his head to wake him from his daytime dream.

"This castle was built by my brother for me. Why did you ruin it?" A little girl’s sharp voice echoed.

"Who asked you not to let me play with it? If I can’t play, neither can you," a little boy said, his voice young yet arrogant, sounding quite young and even stuttering a bit.

"Exactly, who told you not to play with my brother? Serves you right!" said another slightly older girl, but her tone was just as irritating as her brother’s; they both deserved a scolding.

"Your precious daughter is in a dispute, aren’t you going to check it out?" Sisi lazily said to Tian Xinhua.

Tian Xinhua didn’t care and focused on serving his wife.

"It’s fine, Ya Ya won’t easily suffer a loss. Besides, Tie Dan and Du Du are around!"

Humph!

Sisi grunted jealously, yet she wouldn’t admit she was jealous of her daughter. Tian Xinhua was strict with his two sons but doted on Ya Ya, their daughter, responding to her every whim, treating each child very differently!

Tian Xinhua knowingly smiled and whispered near Sisi’s ear, "My most precious is still Ah Nan, the great treasure. How about we come to the beach tonight and let me show you how I’ll treasure you?"

This guy still hadn’t given up on doing something at the beach!

Sisi felt flattered and a bit tempted, but she kept a dignified face and glared at him playfully.

Meanwhile, the kids on the other side were already caught up in a full-scale brawl. It was unclear who started it, but they quickly tangled up together.

Undoubtedly, it was the sibling pair on the other side. Their allies in the fray included Huahua and Ya Ya, two little girls, while Bian Dou and En’en continued calmly building their castle.

Du Du and Tie Dan, along with Mao Dou, the older kids, disdainfully stayed out of such a challenge-less fight, standing with arms folded and merely watching. If their sisters suffered, they’d step in to help.

Of course, in their minds, the likelihood of that happening was less than Huahua and Ya Ya turning into ladies.

The parents remained calm, continuing their romance, except for Mo Liu, who was so frightened she’d become pale, trying to get up to boost the kids’ morale.

Shangguan pulled Mo Liu back down and said confidently, "They won’t lose!"

Before she finished speaking, the battle was over, followed by a wailing cry.

"I’m going to tell my dad to beat you up, wah!" The little boy was no longer arrogant, sobbing his heart out, but his words reflected a spoiled child, loved too much at home, definitely not likable.

Ya Ya’s sharp tone matched young Huahua’s exactly, clear and resounding, making it delightful to hear.

"How sorry are you! If you can’t win, you’ll run to your dad. Why not hang your dad on your belt?"

Though Ya Ya was young, she consumed milk enriched with Spiritual Liquid since infancy, and her rapid-fire mouth was more fluent than most adults. Spectators found the little girl’s quips hilarious, bursting into laughter and finding her adorable.

"Boo-hoo, you insulted me, I’m telling my mom," the little boy was thoroughly frightened by the two assertive girls, now turning to his mother, while his sister still cried over her disheveled hair courtesy of Huahua, too distracted to help her brother.

Sisi and others found it amusing. Ya Ya was even more impressive than Huahua at her age. Huahua resorted more to action, while Ya Ya’s words were as powerful as her actions, outdoing almost anyone. Even Mr. Yun had been scolded by Ya Ya several times.

Mo Liu watched for a few minutes before she understood why the other parents were so calm.

"Sisi, Ya Ya is quite reminiscent of your youthful days!" Mo Liu laughed.

Sisi bristled, "Nonsense, I was a lady back then, Ya Ya takes after her dad."

Mo Liu only smiled, while the reckless Shangguan devoured a piece of pastry and boldly declared, "Looks like the dad, acts like the mom."

Shangguan’s words incited uproarious laughter from everyone, and Tian Xinhua joined in, finally someone defending him.

Sisi, furious and embarrassed, slapped Tian Xinhua’s back, then seized Shangguan’s pastries, thinking, ungrateful wretch, you don’t deserve to eat!

Shangguan had almost finished eating and calmly handed the pastries back to Sisi, raising his eyebrows provocatively, infuriating her so much she collapsed into Tian Xinhua’s arms, whining, "Brother Xin Hua, Feifei bullied me!"

Tian Xinhua hugged her, ready to comfort his wife, when a shrill female voice from the children’s direction rang out, with a familiar Shanghai accent.

"Whose naughty kids are these? Where are your parents? No manners at all."
