Transmigrated as the Stepmother of a Rebellious Heir
Chapter 413 - 235 Routine
CHAPTER 413: CHAPTER 235 ROUTINE
(Just a heads up, I had a Chapter blocked earlier, so I’ve reposted it. Tomorrow there will be two duplicate Chapters, but don’t panic; I’ll make sure the content is corrected.)
In the bedroom, Shu Wan was sitting at her computer desk reading a script, while on her computer screen, Fu Siyu and Fu Yang’s live stream was still up.
"We’re done," Fu Siyu said as he walked over to Shu Wan.
"I saw it," Shu Wan nodded, subconsciously leaning a bit to the side.
Noticing Shu Wan’s movement, a flicker passed through Fu Siyu’s eyes, "What about the matter I mentioned to you yesterday? Have you given it any thought?"
Shu Wan’s script-flipping halted for a moment, her eyelashes trembling slightly as if wrestling with something.
Rarely did anything cause Shu Wan such indecision, and the reason for her hesitation now was the question Fu Siyu had asked her yesterday.
As Christmas approached, all major platforms began promoting videos about the holiday.
Shu Wan was quite interested in this western holiday, which had a completely different form of celebration, so after watching, she casually shared it with Fu Siyu as well.
Then, Fu Siyu proposed, "It’ll take a few more days to complete the renovations at the Film and Television City. How about I accompany you to Ying Country for Christmas? The festive atmosphere is thicker there."
If Fu Siyu had only said that, it might have been fine, but he added, "Just the two of us, without bringing Fu Yang."
Shu Wan was no fool; in this period of time, though Fu Siyu hadn’t spoken much or done anything overly inappropriate, the increasingly obvious attentiveness in his gaze had said it all.
The invitation he issued now felt more like an overstepping request.
It was as if he was asking whether their relationship could move a step closer to intimacy, naturally leaving Shu Wan conflicted.
"It’s okay," seeing Shu Wan’s silence, Fu Siyu spoke again, "If you don’t want to, spending the holiday in Imperial City is fine too."
Shu Wan became even more conflicted at Fu Siyu’s words.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to go out with Fu Siyu, but the unfamiliar feeling of losing control made her hesitate.
"Rest early."
Fu Siyu seemed to genuinely let go of the idea. He glanced at Shu Wan, then turned and walked away.
Shu Wan wanted to call out to him, but her mouth opened and closed, and ultimately she made no sound.
Fu Siyu, until he walked out, hadn’t heard Shu Wan’s detainment. With the bedroom door closing, his gaze dimmed for a moment.
He stood at Shu Wan’s doorway, pondering briefly. Then he sent a message to Qin Lv, before turning back.
At this time, the Housekeeper also happened to finish tidying the study and came out, greeting Fu Siyu promptly.
Fu Siyu nodded, then looked at the Housekeeper, "Do you still have that list I gave you before?"
"Yes, would you like me to fetch it now?"
The Housekeeper sighed internally as he mentioned the list.
Back when Fu Siyu was abroad, Shu Wan had visited for just two or three days. Somehow, Fu Siyu had observed her with such detail, understanding her habits and personality more deeply than those of them in the country.
Presumably worrying that they couldn’t take good care of Shu Wan, Fu Siyu personally wrote a detailed checklist of her living habits—over a hundred items.
The key thing was, Fu Siyu had done this discreetly, and to this day, Shu Wan was unaware that the overall improvement in the Estate’s staff’s quality was all thanks to Fu Siyu’s efforts.
"No need," Fu Siyu’s gaze shifted faintly, "It’s cold in the winter, so when you have time, you could take the list and ask her if there’s any additional service she needs."
Having worked for the Fu Family for so many years, the Housekeeper was quite astute, immediately understanding Fu Siyu’s meaning.
Their young master had finally learnt not to be a silent philanthropist.
"Alright, young master, rest assured, I’ll ask tomorrow," the housekeeper said. He then added thoughtfully, "Don’t worry, I won’t tell the lady that you asked me to."
Fu Siyu nodded, "Mhm."
The next morning, the housekeeper knocked on Shu Wan’s door. "Madam, I have something to discuss with you, do you have a moment?"
"Come in."
The housekeeper entered and found Shu Wan, who had just finished freshening up, now applying her makeup.
To call it makeup was almost an overstatement, given Shu Wan’s natural beauty; at most, she was just applying some lipstick.
At that moment, the morning light poured through the window, casting a soft glow upon Shu Wan.
Even after spending so much time with Shu Wan, the housekeeper still found himself astonished by her beauty.
He couldn’t help but admire inwardly: with her stunning looks and sharp mind, no wonder she could enchant their young master so thoroughly.
That frank and open young master had even learned to employ sneaky little tactics.
Seeing that the housekeeper was still in a daze, Shu Wan’s brows furrowed slightly, "What is it?"
"Oh, yes," the housekeeper snapped back to reality and stepped forward, "The thing is, Madam, it’s been cold lately. I came to ask if you’d like to switch from mixed noodles to soup noodles for breakfast."
"No need," Shu Wan replied, "It is a bit cold, though. Make some mutton soup for lunch."
"Of course, of course," the housekeeper nodded repeatedly, "I’ll give the instructions in a moment."
As he spoke, the housekeeper pulled out a sheet of paper from his pocket. He was about to take notes but realized he didn’t bring a pen.
With a hint of apology, the housekeeper looked at Shu Wan, "Madam, may I borrow a pen? If you have any other requests, I’ll note them all down. I’m getting old and it’s easy to forget things."
"There’s one on the desk."
"Thank you."
The housekeeper took a pen from the desk, spread out the paper, and as he muttered, "We can add mutton soup occasionally because it’s cold," he began to write.
Shu Wan hadn’t paid much attention to the housekeeper’s actions, but a casual glance revealed that the handwriting on the paper looked familiar.
Shu Wan walked over for a closer look. She wasn’t mistaken; it was Fu Siyu’s handwriting.
Shu Wan’s brows furrowed slightly, and she extended her hand, "Let me have a look at that."
The housekeeper, pretending to have just noticed Shu Wan, looked at her in surprise, "Madam, you’ve come over? It’s just my notes, nothing interesting to see."
But Shu Wan’s hand remained extended, and after a moment, the housekeeper capitulated, handing her the notes, "Since Madam has seen it, take a look. It’s nothing really, just some notes on your habits to help us serve you better."
Shu Wan flipped through the notes. They detailed her life habits and personality traits: "Make sure the tea leaves are ready in the study; don’t disturb her when she’s reading."
"She prefers drier dishes; avoid using thickening agents when cooking."
"Prepare a dessert for her once a week; too frequently and she won’t like it."
.......
There were indeed more than a hundred entries, all about her life habits. These were details that only someone who knew her very well could be aware of.
Shu Wan looked at the housekeeper, "When did Fu Siyu give you these notes?"
"It was just a few days after you returned from abroad, the young master passed these to us. He also made a point of telling us not to inform you," explained the housekeeper. "He said he didn’t want you to feel burdened. Honestly, the young master is really thoughtful. We’ve been taking care of you for more than a month, and we didn’t know all your preferences, but he figured them out after just three days."
