Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)
Chapter 262 - 261: Locked up 3
CHAPTER 262: CHAPTER 261: LOCKED UP 3
Luciel had wanted to leave the camp as soon as possible because of the eyes of the guards and the person who had guided them.
When he looked at the guards, Luciel could still see the desire in their eyes as they looked at all of them, even though it was restrained.
The person who guided them was even worse, as Luciel could clearly see that he wasn’t treating them as people anymore, and it seemed that he was even assessing their qualities.
He had lived in a chaotic world for years, and he had seen a lot of different people around.
He had also seen a lot of people who were driven to eat their own kind, so he could recognize them as long as he saw them.
In his previous world, all the bases didn’t tolerate cannibalism.
They had ordered that as long as you see people engage in cannibalism, you can kill them on site.
However, a lot of people were still tempted to eat their own kinds because of the severe lack of supplies, especially after a few years of apocalypse.
There were more people who couldn’t tolerate being hungry and targeted others, but once they were discovered, they’ll be killed.
In the past, Luciel could still tolerate those people who were just wanting to have sex with him.
Even though he knew that they wanted his body to relieve their desires, as long as they didn’t touch him or attract him, he wouldn’t do anything as long as he wasn’t in a bad mood.
But Luciel agreed to the point of view of all bases and also couldn’t tolerate cannibalism.
There are already a lot of problems because of the lack of resources and the attack of monsters, so if they tolerated cannibalism and didn’t impose the death penalty, then the environment they were in would be more chaotic.
Luciel had also killed a lot of cannibals in the past, so he was really very familiar with their eyes already.
So as soon as he saw those guards and the guide, he knew that they were all people who had eaten their own kind.
With the atmosphere of the camp, he knew that there might be more of them, so he wanted to get out of the camp immediately to avoid getting into more trouble.
If Treyton or the other members of the team were with him and not the kids, then they would surely try to solve the issue of the camp.
So, Luciel only thought of not conflicting with the others and getting out first.
He would just report the situation to Treyton later on so that they could solve the problem of the camp if they wanted to.
Unfortunately, they were all arrested, and he didn’t expect that the whole camp was actually the problem and not just a group of people in the camp.
"I see. Do you know the approximate number of the people in the camp?"
"Excluding the people trapped here as livestock, there should be about 200 to 250 people in the camp."
"That’s already a lot for a small camp. Do you know the leaders here? How could ordinary bosses lead a lot of people to eat their own kinds?"
Most of the leaders of people in small camps were just ordinary people before the apocalypse.
They might just have the ability to lead others, or they just have enough power to let others follow them.
For people from modern society, cannibalism isn’t welcomed, and most people wouldn’t even try it even if they are already dying out of hunger.
Also, there are still a lot of supplies that people could gather outside, so with the number of people in the base, they could surely gather enough food for themselves and not have to resort to cannibalism.
However, according to the man, all the people left in the camp were all cannibals, so the person who led such a trend to his followers shouldn’t be that ordinary.
Because ordinary people who gained power wouldn’t think of eating others when there were clearly still many ways to obtain food supplies.
They’re also near the north bay, so if they really don’t have the ability to survive on their own, then they could surely try to go to the north base.
"Yes, I know them. I didn’t recognize them when I first saw them, but after getting locked up here, I finally remembered that they were wanted criminals.
The boss they mentioned is a wanted criminal who had killed his family and neighbors.
The doctor is a wanted criminal who kidnapped people for his human experiments.
I remembered that in the file I had read before, those two people managed to successfully run abroad.
But I didn’t expect that they were actually in the country and were even just near the north base."
"I see. If it involves wanted criminals, then it’s indeed understandable."
The two pillars of the camp were already criminals even before the end of the world, so it was obvious that their morals and values were already crooked.
And since both of the criminals teamed up, they had successfully come up with ways to eat people without trouble.
With the doctor’s medicine, they could capture even those with superpowers without a lot of problems later on.
And with a lot of people under the boss, they could subdue most troubles.
So, they were even audacious enough to put up a signboard that they’re a survivor’s camp to lure more people.
"According to your experience, how long does the effect of the sleeping gas last?" Luciel asked.
According to the conversation of the people who brought them into the room, they had to check the room every 30 minutes, so the 30-minute mark must have meant something.
The only thing that could happen immediately and require checking within the first 30 minutes was if any of the unconscious people woke up.
So, Luciel figured that the effect of the sleeping gas would probably last about 30 minutes, but he still asked the man to confirm his guess.
"The effect of the sleeping gas should last about 20 to 30 minutes," the man answered.
"Ok, then. Let’s wait for them to wake up before going out," Luciel said while also controlling the vines back and then cutting them off.
While he was talking to the man, he had also finished removing all the locks and chains of the kids and Dan’s team using the vines he had.
"You want to get out? That’s good.
You guys said you’re from the North Base, right?
Can you carry something for me?
And if you manage to escape and make it back to the North Base, can you give it to our captain?" the man said slowly.
"Huh? That’s a hassle; you can give it to your captain yourself," Luciel said while cutting the ropes binding the kids and Dan’s team.
"I also wanted to give my report back to the captain myself, but unfortunately I might really die here," the man said weakly.
It seemed that the man had misunderstood what he said a while ago, so Luciel said, "What are you talking about? All of us can get out of this camp this time.
Unless you’re really unlucky and die on the way back to the North Base, you can give your report to your superiors yourself."
"You guys don’t need yourselves to save us. We are still under the effect of the paralyzing medicine until tomorrow morning, so we won’t be able to run even if we wanted to.
We will only be a burden, so you should run as fast as you can as soon as your companions wake up," the man said.
"You’re really worthy of being a soldier. Don’t worry too much, as I said, we can certainly get out of here.
But if you want to help, do you want to try the antidote I have? It’s an antidote meant to cure most poisons, but it hasn’t been tested yet if it could really be effective for most herbs," Luciel said.
He got a lot of antidotes from Jacob, but he hadn’t had time to try them out.
When Jacob arrived at the north base, aside from his daily training, he was studying the poisons that he could create and also making their antidotes.
He also heard that Jacob would frequently visit the research center of the north base to study something.
Luciel had said to Jacob that it might be better if he could create an antidote that could work against most poisons.
At that time Jacob only said that he would try his best to do it. But afterwards, Jacob presented a box of antidote that could work for most poisons, according to his knowledge.
After knowing that they were antidotes Luciel received them happily and was always carrying at least one of those vials while the others were all in their space.
