Chapter 291 - 290: Pool party
CHAPTER 291: CHAPTER 290: POOL PARTY
The team’s efficiency was impressive. In just three hours, they had finished all the preparations for the pool party.
Cleaning and other tasks were completed ahead of schedule, allowing most of the team to focus on preparing the food and drinks. Thanks to their cooperation and speed, everything was ready within three hours.
When Luciel stepped into the back garden, he saw that it wasn’t just cleaned—it was beautifully decorated.
The plants had been neatly arranged, with many of them in full bloom. Ribbons and balloons hung from the trees, interwoven with flowers, adding vibrant colors throughout the space.
The garden felt alive, bursting with color and atmosphere. Surprisingly, despite the hot weather, it wasn’t uncomfortable at all.
Zam had discreetly placed large blocks of ice at the corners of the garden, cleverly hidden within the decorations, keeping the temperature pleasant.
Beach chairs and tables were set up under proper shade, and the pools also had covers, making it comfortable to swim without worrying too much about the sun.
Though they had returned to the North Base a few months ago, the first month had been dominated by snow.
After that, they had been constantly busy with missions, and the weather hadn’t been ideal—so swimming was never really considered, even though their villa had large pools.
Even though the garden had been well-maintained, it had never looked this vibrant. The pools had remained empty, and no one had thought of using them in such times.
Yet now, in just three hours, the garden has been transformed into a space with a beautiful view and a relaxing atmosphere—completely out of place with the harsh reality outside the base.
"Beautifully done! Yang, Nathan, did you finish inviting the others?"
"Yes," Yang replied. "I sent a message to all of Treyton’s cousins and uncles. Most of them said they’re still busy, so I told them they could come after work. Treyton’s aunt said she’ll be coming earlier."
"I see. At least Aunt Cana will be here early," Luciel said, then turned to Nathan. "What about the rest of your family?"
"They’re also coming after work," Nathan answered.
"Nice. Then I’ll finally get to see what your parents and sister look like."
Luciel hadn’t met Nathan’s sister or his parents yet, even though their villa was nearby, because they were always busy working at the hospital.
"I know—they’re just going to talk badly about me, so don’t pay them too much attention when they get here," Nathan said with a hint of complaint.
"Now that you’ve said that, I’ll definitely listen to what they’ll say later," Luciel replied with a chuckle.
"Up to you. Anyway, why are the others not back here yet?" Nathan asked.
Yang and Nathan were already with Luciel, while the others had gone to change clothes and hadn’t returned.
Just as Nathan finished speaking, they spotted the rest of the group approaching.
"Oh, there they are," Nathan said, answering his own question.
When everyone arrived, Luciel noticed that they were all wearing robes just like him.
Once they were gathered in the garden, Luciel called out with a smile, "Alright, everyone—it’s time to relax and have some fun!"
After what Luciel said, they immediately started doing what they wanted to do.
Nathan had already jumped into the pool and called out, "Come here, kids! I’ll teach you something fun!" as he floated with a few floaties beside him.
He waved at Nash and the other kids to come over to where he was.
The children, already excited by the idea of swimming and playing in the water, immediately rushed to join him.
Mia and Jane followed with a tray of cut fruits and small cakes. They headed to the pool and settled on the chair floats, relaxing with snacks while staying close to Nathan and the kids.
They knew that with Nathan’s playful nature, he could let the kids have a lot of fun, but they still also had to stay nearby to keep an eye on the younger ones who couldn’t swim well.
But at least they could unwind a little while watching the kids have fun.
Derek, Grant, and Billy also started swimming immediately, while the others didn’t go to the pool yet.
Yang, Jacob, Richard, and the others just sat on the chairs and started chatting with each other.
While the others were busy looking for some food to eat, like Astrid, Bella, and Violet. Since it was already close to lunchtime, those who were already hungry started looking for food to eat.
And some just enjoyed the lively atmosphere—the music playing, laughter echoing here and there—and took photos of the scene around them, like Aldo and Nina.
As for Luciel, he also took off his robes and started swimming.
He hadn’t gone swimming in a very long time. It could be said that this was his first time swimming again in more than seven years.
In his past life, after the arrival of those monsters, he had focused solely on killing them to secure supplies and grow stronger.
There was no place for swimming at all, as the waters were teeming with dangerous aquatic monsters.
Although, after many years of fighting, there were powerful water ability users who could easily supply enough water for swimming pools, by that time, he was already spending every day on the base walls, fighting monsters.
And when he first arrived in this world, he didn’t take the time to go out. He just stayed indoors to enjoy playing games and eating whatever he wanted.
He also didn’t want to go out that much at that time because he knew that he might accidentally injure others because of his reflexes.
By the time he remembered the events of the novel, it was already too late—he couldn’t even take a vacation at a resort or relax somewhere with a pool.
Afterwards, they focused on getting to the north base and doing missions. The weather conditions were also extreme, so he hadn’t had the time for swimming at all.
