CHAPTER 298: CHAPTER 297: LISTENING TO OTHERS QUARREL 2

"So, are we really going to wait for them to finish fighting before we walk out of the community?" Luciel said teasingly, glancing at Vivi and Ron, who already looked like they were about to start a fight.

"No need. Let’s just walk past them," Treyton replied calmly.

"Alright then, let’s go," Luciel said with a smile.

When they finally walked near the three people, the group finally noticed them and paused.

"You guys can continue after we pass by," Luciel said casually, glancing at the three standing in front of him.

Vivi and Ron didn’t respond. Although Ron muttered something quietly under his breath, Luciel still caught the word "b!tch."

Ron didn’t bother looking at Luciel and instead turned his eyes toward Treyton. "I heard you allowed them to join your team. Can I join too? I can definitely serve you well," he said with a smug tone.

With such a statement, it was obvious he wasn’t talking about serious business at all.

"No need," Treyton replied flatly. "If you were truly useful, your name would’ve been marked for consideration. Since it wasn’t even mentioned in the report, it means you’re not suited for recruitment at all. And as for ’serving me in bed’—I don’t need that either."

With that, Treyton continued walking, passing them by.

Luciel simply smiled and followed without sparing them another word.

While walking out of the community, Luciel said, "Your past lovers really have such different personalities. With a personality like that, you actually managed to stand being with him? How long did he last as your lover?" he asked curiously.

"Just a month. And we didn’t meet that often. As for his personality, I never saw him act like that at all."

"Oh, so he’s good at pretending. Most of your past lovers probably were."

"Yeah. And I didn’t really mind them pretending. They were just doing what they could for themselves. As long as they didn’t cause me trouble, they got the benefits we agreed on."

Luciel also agreed with Treyton’s view. Everyone had a mask of their own, which they used to deal with different types of people.

So, just pretending in front of other people to get the benefits they want wasn’t bad at all, as it was even agreed upon already.

He was also an actor in the past, so he was even better than them at pretending.

When he was an actor, he had to deal with a lot of people who weren’t even that decent at all.

He had to pretend a lot to be more polite while dealing with all those kinds of people. Of course, if they were really excessive, Luciel didn’t mind being impolite at all. He just controlled himself more so that he wouldn’t offend too many people.

When the apocalypse came, he didn’t have to pretend to be polite to those who had wrong thoughts, and he could deal with them directly without being too worried about offending others, especially when he became stronger.

"That’s right, even if they’re indeed pretending, the benefits they should receive should still be theirs. But it really seems like most of your past lovers were just after the benefits you gave them," Luciel said with a chuckle.

Even though Lex and Ron had very different personalities, both of them were clearly more interested in what Treyton could offer than in Treyton himself. Luciel could easily tell neither of them had truly been in love with him.

"Of course not," Treyton said quickly, denying it. "You’ve only met two of them, and they just happened to be the ones who were after the benefits. If you’d met the others, you’d see—they genuinely liked me."

Luciel laughed softly and teased, "I didn’t say anything that harsh. I didn’t hurt your ego, did I?"

"No, why would I be hurt?" Treyton replied with a smirk. "Even if they were only after what I could give them, that was still a part of me. I don’t mind."

"Heh. It seems like you really don’t have a problem."

"Of course I don’t," Treyton replied confidently. "I don’t have any problems. You’re the one who has a problem."

"Huh? Why would I have a problem?"

"See? That’s exactly it," Treyton said, pointing at him. "You’ve met two of my past lovers, and you weren’t even jealous. Instead of getting upset, you were busy teasing people and having fun."

Luciel raised an eyebrow and said, "Why should I be jealous? I already knew you had a lot of contract lovers in the past. That’s in the past, so why would I care about them? Like I said before, as long as they don’t cause me any trouble, I don’t mind at all."

"See, you’re being too cold."

"What? You really want to see me jealous?" Luciel asked nonchalantly.

"Not really," Treyton said immediately.

"See? Then, there’s no problem at all."

Afterwards, the two of them dropped the topic and moved on to talk about other things instead.

When they arrived at the place where Mr. Acacia was, Luciel noticed that there were indeed only a few researchers in the area.

Those researchers weren’t even talking to Mr. Acacia any longer, but they were recording something with their equipment.

Luciel didn’t bother going to where they were and just directly went inside the house they owned near Mr. Acacia.

Luciel placed the cactus in the table to let it absorb more plant energy around them. The cactus can absorb plant energy on its own so Luciel just left it be and continued playing games while also absorbing some plant energy.

As for Treyton he went to talk to those researchers to know what they had learned from Mr. Acacia.

When Treyton came back Luciel asked him what he learned from the researchers outside.

"I didn’t learn much. They’re still testing so there’s no conclusion yet. I only learned that they are still getting a lot of samples to compare it to the data they have in the past to see if the energy around us was indeed present before."

"Oh, so there’s no progress yet."

"Yeah, they’re still doing a lot of tests."

Knowing that there’s no progress yet, both of them stopped talking about it. Both of them just did their own things; Luciel was still playing games while Treyton at the side was training his abilities.

In the next few days, Luciel saw Vivi and Lex whenever they had their meals. It could be seen that both of them were working hard to improve themselves, and it was also obvious that they were very satisfied with their treatment in the team.

The other people in the team didn’t discriminate against them just because Lex had a past relationship with Treyton.
