CHAPTER 260: I WILL BECOME THE BEST MAGE IN THE WORLD

"The good news is that we will head back to my place accompanied by Evelyn and a hundred people." Nathalie informed her disciple that Evelyn had come along with them on her master’s suggestion.

Nolan’s eyes shone brightly. "Fairy Evelyn?"

Nathalie nodded while smiling softly. "We will face the Veneian Kingdom as soon as we arrive. You can use this opportunity to get close to her and prove that you are the only one worthy of being her partner."

"This is great news, master!" Nolan almost could not control the happiness within him.

Not only could he help her master protect her family from the Veneian Kingdom, but he also had the opportunity to get close to Evelyn and show her what he was capable of.

For him, this was a golden opportunity granted by the heavens because he could gain both loyalty and love with a single action.

"When will we depart?" he asked happily.

"Tomorrow morning." She replied. "Begin the preparations. I’m going back to my chamber now."

"Understood, master." He responded.

Meanwhile, in Evelyn’s chamber, she gazed at the blue sky with a sad face.

She had met Ren in the Luvrela region, so her mission made her think of him again.

’Ren, I will travel to the Luvrela region tomorrow.’

When she recalled him, memories of them spending time in the forest together popped up in her mind.

Her heart suddenly tightened with pain, and her face became shadowed with grief.

Ren was a good young man with a bright future, but he lost his life and everything that awaited him to save her.

Of course, there were many times when she wished she could change the past because she didn’t want him to die at the hands of the Winged Lion.

He was Aeris.

His life should have been filled with happiness and praise.

Yet, the world was so cruel to him, ending his journey before he had the chance to grow strong and reach his full potential.

’If only...’

She gritted her teeth as she blamed herself for everything.

’Ren, I’m still alive thanks to you, so my life is also your life.’

Her sorrowful expression slowly shifted into one of determination.

’I will become the strongest mage in the world and when that time comes, I will make sure everyone knows your name. I will let them know that I can achieve my goal thanks to you, so please watch me from heaven.’

At this moment, Ren’s face suddenly appeared in the sky, smiling at her softly.

’Wait for it, Ren.’

----

The following morning, Nathalie and the others traveled to the Tuiziya Kingdom using a flying ship.

Like usual, Nolan tried to get close to Evelyn the moment he caught sight of her.

However, the response he got was the same as always.

She even treated him like air.

Sure, she admitted that he was a talented mage, but it didn’t make him special in her eyes.

In her heart, there was only one person who was special.

And that person was Ren.

No one could replace him because all men were nothing compared to him.

"Fairy Evelyn, it’s lunch time. Let’s eat together with others." Nolan used lunch as an excuse to approach her.

"I’m not hungry. You can eat with others." Evelyn replied without looking at him.

"Then, shall I prepare something for you? You can eat it later when you are hungry." He was not angry with her behavior and still smiled softly at her.

In his eyes, it was a trial he had to overcome to earn a place in her heart, so he chose patience and kindness because he believed she would fall into his arms one day.

"No." she replied.

"Alright. Then, I will head back to the others. Just call me if you need something." He gave her some time alone because he knew she would get angry if he kept bothering her.

Evelyn didn’t respond or look at him.

Her gaze remained fixed on the blue sky because her mind was filled with Ren again.

’Ren...’

----

Time went by quickly and without realizing it, it had been two weeks since Nathalie and the others left the Misty Palace.

At this moment, they were already close to the Tuiziya Kingdom.

Their flying ship was so fast that what normally took three months could now be done in just two weeks.

"Hmm?" Anger flashed in Nathalie’s eyes when they were in the territory of the Tuiziya Kingdom.

Lands that had once been lush and full of life were now scorched and lifeless. Destruction and traces of war stretched as far as the eye could see.

Some areas were even still burning.

If they didn’t stop the Veneian Kingdom quickly, more fertile lands and forests would be lost, and the Tuiziya Kingdom would be in a difficult situation even if they won the war.

"The Veneian Kingdom is really evil!" An aura of anger exploded from Nolan’s body as his gaze fell on the burning ground.

Not only him, but the other disciples also clenched their fists in anger.

Only Evelyn remained composed as if she didn’t see anything.

"Master, let’s burn their lands and forest once we deal with them." Nolan corrected his words when he realized something. "No. Let’s conquer the Veneian Kingdom. Let’s make them pay for destroying your homeland."

"I agree with senior Nolan, First Elder." A blue-haired girl added, "We must teach them a lesson because their actions are unforgivable."

"Yeah. Let’s conquer the Veneian Kingdom." Nathalie agreed with their idea immediately.

Several hours later, they arrived at the Palace.

King Aldric and the others smiled happily when the flying ship descended from the sky.

Even though most of the people she brought were disciples of Misty Palace, they still treated them with respect.

They believed they were not ordinary disciples because they were representatives of Misty Palace.

Once they jumped off the flying ship, King Aldric led them to the main hall.

However, they didn’t stay there long.

He soon guided them to the dining hall because sharing a meal was one of the best ways to offer a warm welcome.

And by eating together, they could grow closer, so it was a good step toward trust and unity.

As they enjoyed their meal together, Ren chatted with candidates who were interested in joining his organization.

Due to the widespread fame of both him and his organization, countless individuals looked for him.

Most of them even had come from different regions. They heard tales of his incredible fame when they were in Luvrela region, so they decided to meet him immediately.

And once they discovered that he was a powerful Aeris, they quickly made up their minds to join his organization because they believed Moon Organization would become a major force in the future.

After all, the leader was an Aeris, so its future must be extraordinary.

"Joining my organization won’t be easy because you will have to pass some tough trials." Ren decided to give tests as a condition for joining his organization because he wanted all of his subordinates to be strong.

He then continued, "Since we are at war, I will cut the test down to two tasks. The first test is to kill one hundred soldiers from the Tuiziya Kingdom who are of the same rank as you. And the second one is to rescue two hundred allies from the battlefield and bring them back alive."

He made the second test a loyalty and risk trial because he wanted to see if they were willing to risk their lives for their comrades or not.

"You don’t need to tell me if you want to give up on the trials. Just leave the battlefield immediately, and I will take that as your elimination," Ren said, "Alright. The trials start now!"

Upon hearing his words, the candidates rushed toward the battlefield.

Even though they could lose their lives in the trials, none of them had any intention of giving up because they believed their future would be better if they joined his organization.

"Kairos, Elian, tell everyone to monitor them in secret. Save them if their lives are in danger." Even though Ren looked like he didn’t care about their safety, he didn’t want them to die.

"Understood, leader." Kairos and Elian replied in unison.

Once they left, Ren headed to his tent to absorb beast cores.

’I have to break through to the next rank immediately.’
