Chapter 58: "Where is the other one?"
CHAPTER 58: "WHERE IS THE OTHER ONE?"
Then professor Yulia vs. Assassin:...
The second assassin charged straight at Professor Yulia with his blades flashing in the dim light.
He moved fast where his footsteps were light and deadly, aiming to take her down in a single blow.
But Yulia didn’t move.
Calmly, she raised her hand and spoke a quiet chant under her breath. Glowing symbols lit up beneath her feet and a rune circle formed in an instant.
A wave of light spread out from her, glowing and humming with power.
The assassin’s blade came down hard—but it struck something invisible.
A magical barrier appeared in front of Yulia, stopping the attack with a loud crack! Sparks flew through the air as metal clashed with magic.
The assassin quickly stepped to the left, pretending to strike again. Then, with a quick twist, he aimed for her on the other side.
But Yulia was ready.
She moved smoothly, like flowing water. Her hand rose with perfect timing, deflecting the blade.
With her free hand, she released a burst of glowing energy that slammed into the assassin’s chest, making him stumble backward.
Before he could recover, Yulia waved again.
A sweeping spell shot out like a gust of wind, knocking the assassin off his feet and pushing him several steps back.
She stood tall and calm, her magic pulsing with strength.
The assassin growled in frustration with the eyes burning with anger. With a sudden burst of speed, he jumped onto the side wall of the tunnel, using it like a springboard.
His body twisted mid-air, and both of his swords spun rapidly in his hands as he came down toward Yulia like a whirlwind of steel.
But Yulia didn’t panic.
Her palm began to glow with swirling energy. Just as the assassin neared, she thrust her hand forward.
A powerful burst of wind shot out from her palm—a blast of raw magic. It slammed into the assassin’s body mid-air, knocking the wind out of him and throwing him down hard against the stone floor.
THUD!
Dust rose around him as he hit the ground, groaning in pain.
Yulia calmly stepped closer, her hand still glowing with bright, pulsing magic. Her face showed no fear, no anger—just cold control.
The assassin growled again and forced himself to his feet, then tried to lunge at her one more time.
But suddenly—his legs stopped moving.
He looked down and then he was shocked.
A glowing rune had formed beneath his feet—etched into the stone itself.
His muscles locked up. He couldn’t move.
"W-What is this?" he gasped.
Yulia stopped right in front of him. Her eyes were unreadable.
"This is Arcadia," she said softly.
(We need to keep them alive)
She raised her staff and whispered a final chant.
Chains made of glowing light sprang from the air, wrapping around the assassin’s arms and legs, binding him completely.
He collapsed, fully restrained and was unable to fight anymore.
Students vs. Assassin:
The third assassin, "damn, where did that shit head go?".
The last assassin stood facing the rest of the class. His sharp eyes scanned the crowd of students in front of him.
Some of them were shaking slightly, their hands gripping weapons and staff tightly. Fear was in their eyes—but not weakness. None of them ran. They all stood their ground.
The assassin smirked behind his mask.
"So many lambs," he muttered, amused. "Easy prey."
But he was wrong.
Before he could take another step, Liora raised her staff and cast a fireball straight at him. At the same moment, Seraphina slammed her hands to the ground, summoning a wave of earth to rise and crash forward.
The assassin moved fast, flipping over the fireball and dodging the wave with a sharp twist of his body.
But Arwen and Selene were already closing in from both sides, short swords flashing. They slashed at him with precision, forcing him to block and spin in place.
CLANG!
Steel met steel and sparks flew.
The assassin growled and kicked Arwen hard, sending her sliding back. He turned to attack Selene next—but a pebble flew into his side.
He shouted and turned towards it.
Isolde, standing near the back, had her hand raised and ready for another shot.
But the students didn’t stop there.
More spells rained down—ice spikes, wind blades, and blinding light.
They moved with teamwork. One student cast shields while another cast illusions. Some attacked close-up while others launched spells from afar.
They covered each other, defended each other, and moved as one.
The assassin, now bleeding and furious, fought back fiercely. He was no ordinary enemy. His skills were far beyond what they had faced in training.
He knocked down seven more students, cut through barriers, and nearly reached the center of the group.
Even though they were giving their best, it wasn’t enough.
"He’s too strong!" one student cried.
Suddenly, a sword light burst through the tunnel.
Edwin appeared beside them, sword glowing with power. "Fall back. LET ME HANDLE!."
At the same time, Professor Yulia quickly stepped forward behind them.
With a flick of her hand, a massive wall of light slammed into the assassin, forcing him to stumble.
Together, Edwin and the students launched a synchronized attack while Yulia unleashed a wave of binding magic.
Spells lit up the tunnel like stars. The combined power of the class, their teacher, and Edwin was unstoppable.
After a fierce and exhausting struggle, the assassin finally dropped to his knees—his weapons falling from his hands. Glowing spell circles surrounded him. Swords and staff were pointed in every direction.
He was defeated—completely surrounded and overwhelmed.
He looked up, breathing heavily.
This wasn’t a class of frightened children.
(Damn it, they are strong. I have underestimated them).
Assassins’ Confusion:
Bound and beaten, one of the assassins growled through his pain.
"Where is the other one...?"
Another coughed, blood on his lips. "That shit head, I will kill him."
Professor Yulia raised an eyebrow. "Other one?"
Edwin frowned. "There are many?."
Meanwhile, Cecelia!
