Chapter 253; He did?
CHAPTER 253: CHAPTER 253; HE DID?
"Oohh Auntie! Don’t let him lie to you!" Feihao gasped sighing loudly. Who didn’t know apart from being ruthless and maniac, Zhihao was the best when it came to flattering? Those words could be sweet or lethal depending on the targeted person.
Tang Fei laughed softly, brushing back a strand of hair as she looked at the lively scene beside her.
The garden buzzed not with insects but with joy, warm and infectious joy that wrapped around her like the morning sun.
She couldn’t change anything nor trade this life for anything.
"Yes, Xu Xie," he said, playfully narrowing his eyes at her. "You are adorable and dramatic at the same time. A dangerous combination you should know by the way... And you are the epitome of everything." Zhihao giggled eying her.
Xu Xie covered her mouth and giggled away, feeling like eating too many strawberries was good for him; instead of a harmful mouth, she was enjoying the benefits of having such a sweet mouth.
Zhihao smiled gleefully. " Mommy, you will have to start giving kisses on foreheads next! Or noses! They are easy and faster you know! You won’t feel like you are dealing with a football team."
"No!" Minghao finally spoke, crossing her arms around her chest stubbornly. "Forehead kisses are for tiny babies! I’m not a baby..."
Tang Fei giggled, checking her out; she was also a baby, right? Not even a teenager.
"But you have the roundest forehead nice for a kiss and it’s exposed!" Feihao pointed out, poking it with a giggle.
"I do not!"
"You do!"
The children broke into laughter again, chasing each other around the trees, their little feet kicking up dust and fallen petals. They were heading back to the mansion.
Tang Fei strolled through the soft grass, stretching out her legs, her eyes following them with a fondness that softened even the deep fatigue in her bones.
Then, suddenly, a small voice whispered beside her, while she was lost in her thoughts "Momma... do you think we will always stay like this forever?"
It was Zhihao again, his eyes unusually serious, wide, and searching. He has always been insecure knowing what their mother has been previously.
He didn’t want to lose her tenderness and care. She was so gentle and loving.
Tang Fei didn’t hesitate at all. She reached for him, drawing him closer.
"I don’t know what tomorrow brings," she said honestly, placing her hand gently on top of his head, "but I do know this, no matter where we are, or how far we go, this feeling? It stays in here. I would always try to be a better momma; your father loves me unless he cheats on me; I don’t think there’s a reason to break up, so we are bound with a lifetime." She gently tapped on his chest across his heart. "Everything is all about what your heart yearns for." She tapped her own heart, too, feeling it closely.
Zhihao blinked slowly. Then he nodded, pressing his little hand against his heart and whispering, "Forever? Right?"
"Forever and ever. Together against the world, just us!"
In front of them, the laughter hadn’t stopped; the others still played as they headed over to the house.
She came across some yellow rose flowers that had bloomed and plucked nine of them.
"Where are you taking those flowers? You know they wither faster liked that! Flowers are beautiful when left in the garden." Zhihao has never seen his mother handle flowers and for house decorations, it has always been the maids’ work.
"Hehe, giving them to someone, let’s go." She sweetly giggled catching up with the others.
The atmosphere was warm and you could feel that love, and the once unfamiliar space now felt like home for them all. They were glad that their momma had changed.
Tang Fei’s heart softened as she watched her kids walk together ahead of her like a small, determined army, their footing was stable and looked determined.
A sense of belonging, of purpose, slowly began to replace the emptiness that had plagued her ever in her past life. She knew this was what she had always dreamed of. This was what she always wished for, and she didn’t get it from that man she had worked hard for so hard in her past life.
Walking through the backyard kitchen door, they went over to the kitchen, and they could see the packed portions of different varieties of fruits in different quantities.
"Did you store more other fruits in the walk-in fridge?" As much as they wanted to donate, they also needed a stock of fruits for their daily consumption.
"Yes, we have stocked a lot in the fridge, madam; you don’t have to worry." The guards responded while they went on to pack the last crates of the fruits.
Other guards were carrying the packaged papers into a van packing them away as they would drive it out and use it for donations.
They were done with that sector and left everything else to the guards to handle. Their work was just to harvest.
"All of you go over to your bedrooms and take a shower, and then after showering, we will deliver them to the locations we said. And hurry up, it’s getting late." Tang Fei sighed loudly gazing at how they were looking like. From head to toe, they were dirty and needed a proper shower that would take them a few minutes to be clean.
"All right Momma, upstairs I go.... You too, don’t forget to hurry up!" The kids all rushed upstairs, and now, it was Twilight, Xu Xie, and Qin Xinyu standing there in the kitchen just close to her.
"Fei Fei, I will take a shower and accompany you, and also tell the guards to package some fruits for me; I would like to gift them to my Mama and Papa back at home." She kissed Tang Fei on the cheek before going to her bedroom, which had been designed permanently for her.
Twilight stood there gazing at her with some puppy eyes that almost teared and Qin Xinyu was also waiting for her instructions. As much as he recognized and called her Auntie, he was still a servant of low status and needed permission from her.
"You all can go ahead and freshen up, we will go altogether. I don’t think it would be unsafe and chaotic." She kissed them on their cheeks and they rushed away back to their bedrooms to freshen up.
Tang Fei loudly giggled, seeing how blushed they were, but at the same time, they were just kids who needed love and attention, just the same as all other kids. Why not pamper them when she has time and capabilities?
Nanny Yun walked over and caught her smiling to herself while looking at the flowers she was holding, "Missus, is there a problem?" She queried curiously eying her. Actually, from the time she had begun working in the mansion, she hadn’t seen anything the guards were gossiping about Missus; she seemed to be mature, stable, and composed, not like the brat they were gossiping about.
"No... None... Pack some fruits into that huge packet for Xu Xie; she wants to take them to her home afterward. Make sure they are nicely packed." She gazed at the guards as Huo Zheng walked in through the other entrance door.
"Missus, Master said he has made all the necessary arrangements, and you don’t have to worry, called the hospital management, orphanage management, and other facilities, notifying them of your arrival... That way, it would be easy to access the place."
Tang Fei severally blinked her wide doe eyes in surprise. "He did? How is that even possible?" Her husband was never that soft-hearted person, and she beamed wildly, knowing her man supported her without asking any questions.
"Yes. He even sent someone to town to buy more containers and manilla wrappers just for you. I guess this is how much he adores you, anything for the lady of the house, and he said it’s for your peace of mind."
Her brows lifted in surprise. Adoration? But adoration was totally different from love, how can those two be compared?
She whined, pouting her lips. Her eyes were now glistening with tears, surprising Huo Zheng, who hadn’t expected such a reaction. Shouldn’t she be happy with such kind of praise?
