CHAPTER 277: CHAPTER 277; YOU ARE ALL I EVER WANTED

Feihao and Tinghao helped pull up a blanket over the boys they had been playing trucks with, her usual energy now replaced with a quiet tenderness.

Zhihao placed the final origami crane on a windowsill, its wings catching the moonlight. He looked out for a moment, silent, then stood and rejoined the others.

Twilight handed a half-finished drawing back to the girl with the sketchpad. "You keep working on this, okay? You have got magic in your hands."

Xu Xie waved at the teenage boy reading one of the books they had brought. "We will be back with the sequel. Don’t finish too fast, or you’ll spoil the fun!"

Qingqing, now tucked under Minghao’s arm, let out a soft yawn, her head bobbing sleepily. She looked up at Tang Fei with drowsy eyes, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Can we come back here too... and play with the kids?"

Tang Fei knelt beside her, brushing a few stray hairs from her face. "Yes, darling. We will come back again."

Outside, the night had fully fallen, the hospital bathed in quiet moonlight and neon reflections. The city, ever bustling, seemed gentler now and quieter, more alive in a different way.

As they exited through the lobby, a nurse called out after them, smiling warmly. "You brought a light with you. Thank you. You made this place feel like springtime."

Tang Fei paused and bowed politely. "Spring always finds its way in, when kindness walks through the door."

But before she could take another step, Huo Ting Cheng’s hand caught her wrist firmly in her palm.

"Come with me," he said lowly but with a commanding tone.

Before she could ask what was up with him, he was already turning down a different hallway, silent, private, unfamiliar. She glanced back, but he didn’t explain.

"Mommy.... Mommy... Where are you going?" Zhihao rushed planning to tag behind them. He was the same with Huo Ting Cheng; they all clung to Tang Fei.

Tinghao, Feihao, and Minghao also trailed behind Zhihao...

"Go back... "Huo Wu, Huo Zheng," he ordered over his shoulder, "escort the children to the van and wait for us. We are speaking to a doctor, a specialist."

"Daddy?" Minghao frowned that she couldn’t twg behind him, she was attached to her father more.

Huo Wu gave a short nod, already sensing there was more behind the instruction.

"Let’s go guys..." They escorted them away per instructions.

The hallway he led her through was empty, the walls lined with closed office doors. At the end, he keyed into one of them, ushering her inside without a pause.

It was his office. Quiet and sterile. Untouched for months but still sparkling clean and disinfected.

The door clicked shut behind them. She stood at the door while he walked to the desk.

"You brought me here to see a doctor? Am I sick?" Tang Fei asked, tone light but guarded. It was normal to get nervous when it came to him, but at the same time, she knew he would never hurt her.

He didn’t respond, instead, he walked toward her slowly. She didn’t move.

"That smile you gave that old man," he said, stopping in front of her, "you have never looked at me like that."

She blinked, amused. She always looks at him like that all the time. "He’s seventy-four years old."

"And?"

He reached for her chin, tilting it up with a single finger. His voice remained calm and controlled, but there was a weight to it, a pressure beneath the surface.

"I don’t like sharing my things."

"It was just a smile," she said, trying to ease the tension.

"Don’t give it away next time." His thumb brushed her lip. "Even that. It’s only mine..."

She didn’t argue. She knew him, and this wasn’t insecurity; it was ownership. She would just let him be.

Tang Fei stepped closer, eyes steady on his. "If you want it, take it."

He did.

But he didn’t just kiss her.

His hand caught hers, yanked her forward, and before she could protest, he’d backed into the leather chair behind him and pulled her straight into his lap.

Her knees hit the sides of his thighs, her balance shifting instinctively as she settled on him.

She wiggled slightly, nervous, unintentional, but the subtle motion dragged a low grunt from his throat. She felt the hard press beneath her, unmistakable even through layers of fabric.

His hands didn’t loosen. One gripped her waist, fingers splayed possessively. The other slid up her spine, anchoring her close. His voice came out low, jagged at the edges. "You do that on purpose, and I won’t be able to let you go."

Her breath caught in her throat. Her body was tense, but his hardness beneath her butt was hard like hot iron. She wasn’t sure who was trembling more.

Then came the kiss.

It wasn’t soft. It wasn’t gentle.

It was raw.

A kiss meant to silence her, to punish her for smiling too warmly at the world. His lips crushed hers, parted them, and demanded she give him everything without question. His teeth grazed her lower lip, his tongue swept deep with the kind of control that said Remember who you belong to.

Her fingers clenched the front of his shirt, heart racing.

When he finally broke the kiss, his breath was ragged, forehead resting against hers. "You go around making strangers feel seen. Touching them with hands that are mine."

She blinked, dazed. "They needed kindness."

"So do I," he murmured darkly, thumb brushing her cheekbone. "And I only want yours."

"One of his hands slipped under her blouse, resting warmly against her lower back. He didn’t go any further, didn’t undress her, didn’t ask for more."

But his gaze, his whole being, felt like it was consuming her.

"You are all I have ever wanted," he said roughly, "and all I can’t bear to share."

The weight of his needs pressed into her spine, into her breath, into the room itself. He wasn’t rushing. He wasn’t begging. But she could feel it in the tight coil of his muscles, in the restraint laced into every motion.
