CHAPTER 294: CHAPTER 294; NOTHING HAPPENED

The silence that followed was chilling, Mrs. Xu instinctively took a step back as fear flickered in her eyes despite her resolve. He was kidding when he said that, who didn’t know him for his cruelty?

Huo Qi stepped forward quickly, bowing his head slightly, clearly nervous under Huo Ting Cheng’s sharp glare and shifted aura, "Right away," he muttered, gesturing for Mrs. Xu and Mr. Xu to follow.

"Huo Ting Cheng! How dare you treat us like this? How dare you?" Mr Xu and Mrs Xu were infuriated beyond boundaries. He had kept Tang Fei away from them; why was he behaving like that?

Mrs. Xu’s chest heaved with anger, her hands trembling as she pointed a finger at Huo Ting Cheng infuriated. "You can’t just keep Tang Fei from us! You have no right to dictate what we can or cannot do!"

Mr Xu stepped forward, veins bulging on his neck, "We are her adopted parents! You think your threats scare us? You have gone too far this time!"

Huo Ting Cheng’s dark eyes narrowed, his lips curving into a faint, dangerous smile, "Too far? You have already crossed the line the moment you questioned me. I warned you. Don’t you dare me!"

The argument escalated, voices shouting, the tension crackling in the air like electricity. Within moments, the sound of heavy boots clattering on the marble floor echoed through the hall as guards from both sides surged forward, separating the feuding parties.

The shadow guards immediately stood at each side protectively. Mr Xu and Mrs Xu were relentlessly questioning him and didn’t dare back down.

"I think you need to leave the premises Mr...." The shadow guards of the Xu mansion didn’t know who this man was; they only knew him as Tang Fei’s husband, but nothing more.

One of Huo Ting Cheng’s guards strode forward and attacked him! How dare you disrespect our boss? Who do you think you are to bark commands here...." While he attacked, the guard counterattacked.

The guard lunged at Huo Zhen, fist swinging with precision, but Huo Ting Cheng’s own man moved faster, intercepting the attack with brutal efficiency. The two collided with a heavy grunt, bodies slamming together and forcing the ground to shake beneath them.

Mr Xu’s guard recovered quickly, swinging again, but Huo Ting Cheng’s guard sidestepped and twisted, using the momentum to throw him off balance. A heavy thud echoed as the man hit the pavement, dust rising around him.

"Stop! Both of you, stop this madness!" Mrs. Xu screamed, but her voice was swallowed by the growing uproar.

From the corners of the courtyard, more guards poured in, some shadow guards loyal to Huo Ting Cheng, others from the Xu mansion, forming a chaotic, tense standoff. Bodies clashed, fists flew, and the metallic snap of restraints being thrown against the ground echoed sharply.

Gunshots erupted across the parking lot, each sharp crack echoing off the mansion walls and rattling against the parked cars. Sparks of fear lit the night air as guards from both sides clashed violently, some drawing firearms while others relied on brute force.

Tang Fei and Xu Xie, alerted by the chaos, dashed down the stairs toward the parking lot.

The kids who had been in the sitting area were the first to reach the lot, and as Tang Fei and Xu Xie arrived.

The kids shouted almost in unison, "Daddy! What happened?"

Huo Ting Cheng stood casually against the car, his blue eyes scanning the surroundings, his expression unreadable. "Someone just got on my nerves. Get in the car!" His voice was calm, but sharp enough that the kids immediately obeyed, scrambling inside.

"Honey? Auntie? Uncle? What’s going on?" Tang Fei’s heart pounded as she dashed over, Xu Xie following closely behind.

Huo Ting Cheng’s gaze softened as he turned toward Tang Fei, the tension in his aura dissipating in an instant. "Nothing happened... let’s go home."

But before Tang Fei could respond, a red dot flared on Huo Ting Cheng’s chest, someone had a sniper gun aimed at him and without hesitation, Tang Fei shoved him to the side. The bullet whizzed past, grazing his shirt sleeve.

Huo Ting Cheng had thought she was acting recklessly, perhaps to confront him, but when he felt the whiz of the bullet, his reflexes were instantaneous. He shoved Tang Fei into the car and slammed the door shut, shielding her.

Both sets of guards froze, upon realization dawning on them: someone had attempted an assassination inside this private compound.

Huo Ting Cheng’s blue eyes scanned the parking lot, calculating, controlled, his presence immediately reasserting dominance over the chaos.

The shadow guards wanted to deal with the third party, but Huo Ting Cheng shook his head; his snipers had already dealt with him.

Tang Fei and Xu Xie, who had gotten upstairs, were immediately alerted by the sounds of chaos echoing from the parking lot; they dashed down the stairs toward the parking lot.

The kids who were in the sitting area were the first ones to show up.... As Tang Fei and Xu Xie showed up just behind them.

"Daddy? What happened?" They rushed over to their father who was already standing out of the car and leaning against it nonchalantly. His blue eyes were dark and freezing.

"Someone just got on my nerves! Get in the car!" He instructed them and all the kids immediately boarded and peeked outside from the car through the window.

"Honey? Auntie? Uncle? What happened?" Tang Fei’s heart heavily pounded as she got closer with Xu Xie tagging behind her.

"Huo Ting Cheng? What happened?" Xu Xie gazed around questioning him. The guards had withdrawn their guns and stopped fighting the moment the kids showed up.

"Nothing happened... Let’s go home..." He turned around and gazed at Tang Fei, and his face immediately softened, his murderous aura dissipating.

Before Tang Fei, who had gotten closer, could respond, she immediately noticed a red dot aimed at Huo Ting Cheng. She immediately shoved him to the side, and the bullet just grazed his shirt sleeve.
