CHAPTER 295: CHAPTER 295; LET’S GO HOME....

Huo Ting Cheng had thought she wanted to beat him up, but when he felt that whiz of a bullet, he immediately shoved her into the car, closing the door. Both guards had just noticed that an attempted murder had occurred in this private compound.

The echo of the gunshot still lingered in the air, ringing in everyone’s ears.

The courtyard, which had been chaotic seconds ago, now froze into eerie silence. Every guard, every bystander, even the Xu couple, stood wide-eyed in disbelief.

A sniper. Inside the Xu family’s private estate, what was the meaning of this? And it was aimed at Huo Ting Cheng.

Huo Ting Cheng’s expression was unreadable, his blue eyes glinting with an icy calculation. He lifted his sleeve slightly, inspecting the torn fabric where the bullet had grazed him. Not a trace of fear, only lethal calm.

"Seal the exits," he commanded coldly, voice like a blade slicing through the cold night. "No one leaves until I say so."

His shadow guards immediately spread out, moving like predators into the dark, their silenced footsteps sending shivers down the spines of everyone present.

Mrs. Xu’s lips trembled. "An assassin... here? How is this possible? It’s not us! We didn’t get one!"

Huo Ting Cheng’s gaze cut toward her, sharp enough to pierce through her panic. "That’s what I intend to find out. And if it came from your side...." He let the unfinished threat hang in the air, colder than death itself.

Mrs Xu was frightened, and even Mr Xu was caught off guard. Huo Ting Cheng hated it most when people came after him.

"Huo Ting Cheng... It isn’t my family... I can assure you that!" They were business partners and friends for so many years, even though sometimes they could have disagreements, but it has never gotten to this stage.

She immediately ordered her men to search the vicinity for that person. As it had to be someone closely related to them, and had been in the darkness waiting for the perfect moment.

Inside the car, Tang Fei pounded against the window, her voice muffled but urgent. "Ting Cheng! Don’t hurt them, they aren’t the ones behind it! I can assure you!"

But he didn’t move. His aura radiated frost, his stance unshakable.

Huo Qi, who had remained quiet till now, finally stepped forward, his own eyes narrowing as he glanced around the estate walls. "Whoever set this up knew the security. They were either inside... or given access waiting for the perfect time to attack." His words were deliberate, carrying weight.

The Xu couple paled instantly.

"You dare suspect us?" Mr. Xu snapped, though his voice cracked under the strain.

Huo Ting Cheng’s lips curved into that faint, dangerous smile Tang Fei feared most. "Do I suspect you? I don’t suspect someone. I decide the moment I find them. And right now..." His voice dropped lower, more lethal, "someone is going to pay."

As if on cue, one of his snipers radioed in. "Boss.... The target has been neutralized, and all perimeters clear. Orders?"

Huo Ting Cheng’s gaze never wavered. "Bring me the body."

A ripple of shock ran through the Xu family’s guards, but the children inside the car remained steady, their gazes fixed on their father with unwavering trust.

They had long known the weight of his presence, the sharp edge of his authority, and there was no fear in their eyes, only a calm understanding that he was in control.

Tang Fei’s pulse quickened, her fists tightening against the car window. She had stepped in front of him without hesitation, but seeing him now, issuing commands with icy precision, his aura swallowing the courtyard whole, reminded her once more of who Huo Ting Cheng truly was.

The courtyard seemed to hold its breath. Every rustle of fabric, every shifting boot, felt deafening under the suffocating weight of Huo Ting Cheng’s command.

Minutes later, the crunch of boots echoed across the marble tiles as two of his snipers dragged a lifeless body into the light. The figure was masked, clad in black tactical gear, a rifle slung across his chest.

The Xu couple recoiled at the sight.

"Strip the mask," Huo Ting Cheng ordered, voice dripping of ice and command. You could tell he was truly infuriated.

The guard tore it off, revealing a young man’s pale, lifeless face.

Mrs. Xu gasped, stumbling back a step. "No... no, it can’t be...!" She had seen that face, around her sons, but now, it was here... Infront of them....

Huo Ting Cheng’s eyes narrowed, catching the flicker of recognition that crossed he,r features. "You know him. Don’t you?" It wasn’t a question.

Her lips parted, but no words came. Mr. Xu quickly interjected, voice loud and brittle. "We don’t! He isn’t one of ours!"

The body was frisked, and within moments, a black insignia was pulled from the assassin’s pocket, a crest burned into a piece of leather.

Huo Qi stepped forward, his expression grim as he handed it to his boss. "Boss... this belongs to the Crimson Fangs. Mercenaries. Someone hired them for the job."

The Xu couple turned pale as sheets.

Tang Fei shoved open the car door, ignoring Huo Ting Cheng’s earlier push to keep her inside. "Ting Cheng! Let’s go home..." It seemed like this assassin would implicate everyone.

But Huo Ting Cheng’s gaze was fixed on Mr. and Mrs. Xu, his aura tightening like a noose. "Crimson Fangs don’t move without backing. Someone opened the gate for them. Someone gave them access to this estate. And it sure as hell wasn’t me."

His words cut sharper than a blade, his stare freezing the Xu couple in place.

Xu Xie, standing beside Tang Fei, clenched his fists. He had seen this side of Huo Ting Cheng before, the man who didn’t accuse lightly, but once his suspicion was cast, it was deadly.

"Boss," one of the shadow guards called out. "The perimeter’s clear. No other intruders have been spotted. Just this one."
