CHAPTER 47: CHAPTER 47: WARNING.

Yun Li was in the middle of scolding Yue Chen when they heard sharp students.

Yue Ning’s eyes brightened when she saw who had walked in. But once she recalled that Yun Li was also present, her mood soured as she wondered what would happen between two of them.

Yun Li, on the other hand, snapped her head to stare at who had walked in..

Her eyes narrowed instantly as she assessed the man who had come to stand in front of her and was staring at her coldly.

"And you are?" Yun Li asked with a probing look in her eyes.

Before Huo Feng or Yue Ning could give an answer, Yun Li gasped dramatically. "You are Young Master Huo... Huo Feng?"

Yue Ning slapped her forehead exasperatedly. Without a doubt, Yun Li would surely be the death of her.

Huo Feng looked at the lady who was only a head shorter than he was.

He had decided to come back home early since he figured that Yue Ning would be lonely. Huo Yan had classes, and there was no one who would keep her company.

But he didn’t expect that he would meet an unknown person in his villa, and it seemed the lady held an untold hostility towards him.

She might try to hide it, but with his keen senses, he could notice it.

Yun Li had no idea what Huo Feng was thinking in his mind... not like she cared either.

Rather, she assessed him. She had never met the ’Huo Feng’ and she didn’t know what he looked like.

But the fact that he was entangled with Yue Chen was enough for her to be unkind to him.

Circling around him, Yun Li clicked her tongue. "Not bad, you have such a good figure—just perfect for Yue Ning. The only flaw is you having contact with Yue Chen."

Yue Ning’s eyes bulged, and she nearly leapt off the sofa.

"Yun Li!" she hissed under her breath, half in warning, and the remaining half in despair.

But Yun Li only folded her arms, and chin tilted high, like a general facing down an enemy commander.

Huo Feng arched a brow, his gaze sliding to Yue Ning who smiled nervously at him. His gaze returned to Yun Li, cool and unreadable. "And you are?" His tone was polite, yet the weight behind it made even the air feel heavy.

Yun Li stiffened for a second, but quickly plastered on a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. "I am Ning Ning’s best friend." she declared boldly. "And if you dare mistreat her, I’ll make sure you regret it!" she snapped her fingers dramatically.

The silence that followed was deafening. Even the sound of a needle falling would be heard.

Yue Ning buried her face in her hands. ’Heavens above, please strike me down before this woman embarrasses me to death.’ She groaned inwardly.

’She is quite brave.’ The System commented with a sly chuckle.

But Huo Feng didn’t look annoyed. If anything, there was the faintest twitch at the corner of his lips, gone as quickly as it came.

"Mistreat her?" he repeated slowly, his voice low enough to make the hairs on Yun Li’s arms rise.

Yun Li forced a smile on her face. She felt oppressed by his voice. But she didn’t shown it on her face. If anything, she didn’t want to let him think that she was weak.

With a proud voice, she declared. "Of course. You are not allowed to mistreat Ning Ning!"

"But now that I think about it, you’ve started bullying Ning Ning. Take a look at her legs. She was hurt... yet you allowed her to return to the wolves’ den. As if that wasn’t enough, the woman you are so hung up over scalded her with hot tea. If this isn’t bullying, I don’t know what to call it."

Yun Li didn’t know where she got the courage from, but she scolded Huo Feng... badly.

Yue Ning was speechless by her outburst, but her heart warmed immensely. It really felt good to know that someone cared about her.

’So is the Host saying I don’t care about her?’ The System teased.

"You know that’s different." Yue Ning had a smile on her face as she responded to the system.

Huo Feng, on the other hand, stared at Yun Li. Now that he thought about it, her words were right. He might have caused Yue Ning to suffer some grievances.

With his silence, the atmosphere surrounding the three became tense.

"I don’t have any relationship with Yue Chen. I only have one wife... Yue Ning, and that would not change."

After a few moments of silence, Huo Feng declared.

Yue Ning and Yun Li exchanged glances. And without a doubt, they were astonished by his declaration.

Huo Feng didn’t mind the looks of surprise on the two ladies’ faces as he continued.

"As for the matter of her injury, I take full responsibility for it. I was careless. And as for Yue Chen, rest assured that I’ll deal with her. No one is allowed to bully my wife."

Yue Ning’s lips involuntarily curved as her gaze fixated on him. She had to admit that his words caused her heart to warm.

’Take a look at that, Host. Even if he isn’t aware, there is no doubt that he is already falling in love with you.’ The System’s voice once again rang in her mind.

Yue Ning fiddled with her fingers as she considered its words. Her gaze didn’t leave Huo Feng who also had his gaze fixated on her.

She felt flustered, and she hurriedly lowered her head. She didn’t dare meet his gaze again.

Yun Li didn’t witness this cute interaction between both of them. Rather, she was seriously considering the weight of Huo Feng’s words.

After a while, she spoke up while pointing her index finger at him. "You have said it. You are not allowed to bully her!"

Huo Feng nodded, quite loving her feisty personality. She was probably the first person to point her fingers at him.
