Chapter 57 - 6: Little Pearl of the Cultivation World (Part 6)
CHAPTER 57: CHAPTER 6: LITTLE PEARL OF THE CULTIVATION WORLD (PART 6)
Li Shuning, at over 120 years old, was already a mid-stage Nascent Soul cultivator. In the Heavenly Origin Continent, reaching Nascent Soul stage at this age was rare.
Liao Junyi, whether due to a change in spirit root or differing from the storyline, had rapidly improved his cultivation but wasn’t as dazzling as in the plot.
Even so, during the days when Li Shuning and the senior brother were absent, Liao Junyi nearly became the leader among the true disciples.
Even a few of Li Shuning’s senior brothers couldn’t compete with him.
It’s worth noting that the senior brother had only just broken through to become a Nascent Soul cultivator.
The arrival of Li Shuning, with a different cultivation than before, and her senior brother’s cultivation not matching hers, meant their relationship wasn’t the same as in the plot.
Their return brought some changes to the true disciples.
After all, Li Shuning was the Sect Master’s daughter, with a higher cultivation than Liao Junyi, making Liao Junyi’s leadership position unstable.
"Little Senior Sister, this is a Soul Cleansing Fruit I obtained in the Forgetful Forest. It’s beneficial for the divine soul of a Nascent Soul cultivator. Here, take it," Liao Junyi said cheerfully.
Li Shuning smiled at Liao Junyi: "Junior Brother Liao, thank you for your kindness, but I have a Soul Cleansing Fruit. You keep it. I believe it won’t be long before you become a Nascent Soul cultivator yourself."
Liao Junyi’s master had a good relationship with the Sect Master, so it was natural for Liao Junyi to speak with Li Shuning.
Li Shuning couldn’t remember how many times Liao Junyi had tried to please her.
Fortunately, Li Shuning and her senior brother were not that intimate, so Liao Junyi didn’t provoke any disharmony between them.
Though Liao Junyi was full of smiles, he couldn’t help but curse internally, finding Li Shuning too difficult to deal with.
Other junior and senior sisters would have succumbed to his charm long ago.
The items he offered weren’t ordinary, and some were even taken from a ring, yet Li Shuning showed no interest.
But then again, she had a good father after all.
"Little Senior Sister, in a few days, I’ve arranged with Senior Brother to go on a training expedition in Forgetful Forest. Would you like to join? With you and Senior Brother, we could explore deeper into the forest."
The plot also had such an invitation, where during the expedition some events deepened the affection between Li Shuning and Liao Junyi, and won over many hearts. This time, she wanted to see if things would unfold the same way.
"Sure, Junior Brother Liao, when are we departing?"
Liao Junyi was somewhat surprised, as he didn’t expect the usually indifferent Li Shuning to agree to join the expedition.
A gleam of determination flashed in his eyes.
"Little Senior Sister, two days from now, at the third quarter of the Hour of the Rabbit, we’ll gather at the sect gate."
"Okay."
Liao Junyi left feeling satisfied.
He hadn’t held much hope for this invitation, but with Li Shuning agreeing, it was imperative to get things right and consult with the elders on how to proceed.
Two days later, at the sect gate, a group of Golden Core cultivators was waiting there. Before long, Senior Brother Qin Zijun also descended from his flying sword. Upon seeing him, the Golden Core cultivators greeted him respectfully.
Qin Zijun looked around and noticed Junior Brother Liao hadn’t arrived yet. His temperament was always gentle, so he didn’t mind.
Liao Junyi arrived just in time for the third quarter of the Hour of the Rabbit. His flying sword was a bright red, and as he quickly flew over, it radiated a red glow, with the sword emitting a whistling sound, creating quite a spectacle.
The Golden Core cultivators hurried to greet him, noticeably more warmly than when Senior Brother arrived.
Liao Junyi was quite pleased. But after looking around and noticing Li Shuning wasn’t there yet, he couldn’t help but frown a little, feeling it was a pity.
Before long, everyone noticed someone flying toward them from afar.
Though Qin Zijun was a Nascent Soul cultivator, he knew that this time, they were going with Golden Core stage junior brothers, so he too traveled by sword flight, not wanting to stand out.
Upon seeing the familiar figure, a slight smile appeared on his face.
When Li Shuning landed, the Golden Core junior brothers were struck with awe, their eyes full of admiration.
Envy and unwillingness flashed quickly in Liao Junyi’s eyes, but the emotion soon vanished as he walked forward with a smile: "Little Senior Sister."
Li Shuning also greeted him: "Junior Brother Liao, sorry for being held up."
Then she took a few steps forward: "Senior Brother."
"Junior Sister."
Although Li Shuning’s cultivation was high, she always called Senior Brother by that title, considering Qin Zijun was her father’s first disciple.
After greeting the Golden Core cultivators, Li Shuning finally said: "If everyone is here, let’s set off."
"Yes, Little Senior Sister."
Li Shuning took out a Spirit Boat and had everyone board it.
Usually, when they went for training expeditions, they would fly on their swords. Spirit Boats were expensive, and now that they could ride one, everyone was delighted, as it meant they could arrive at Forgetful Forest in peak condition, whereas flying on swords would consume a lot of True Yuan.
Liao Junyi was the last to board the Spirit Boat, feeling quite frustrated. It was initially his idea to go to the Forgetful Forest, but with Li Shuning’s arrival, she took the leading position.
Li Shuning didn’t even look at Liao Junyi. Since she was invited, she would make Liao Junyi regret extending the invitation.
Three hours later, Li Shuning and the others arrived outside the Forgetful Forest.
Scattered houses dotted the outskirts of the Forgetful Forest.
Seeing a Spirit Boat arrive, those with lower cultivation quickly retreated a bit.
Those with higher cultivation displayed a hint of greed.
However, upon seeing those disembarking from the Spirit Boat, they quickly withdrew their gazes and backed away.
The Golden Core disciples were all wearing the unified attire of the Mingwu Sect, with long cyan robes embroidered with half a sun on the chest.
Li Shuning, on the other hand, wore a dress, not the uniform attire. However, her Treasure Clothes were exceptionally valuable, capable of withstanding an attack from a Divinity Transformation cultivator.
It’s not just the strength of the Mingwu Sect; even those cyan robes indicated they were Golden Core cultivators, and Senior Brother was wearing a white robe, signifying he was a Nascent Soul cultivator.
Li Shuning not wearing the uniform left everyone guessing about her actual cultivation level.
Forgetful Forest is a training ground for Foundation Establishment to Nascent Soul stage cultivators, and no one dared to target Li Shuning’s group.
Li Shuning put away the Spirit Boat and, without glancing at the nearby cultivators, flew directly toward the Forgetful Forest.
The others followed by flying on their swords.
Any who harbored thoughts before all sighed in relief. Luckily, they hadn’t acted rashly, for the team had at least two cultivators above Nascent Soul Stage.
