CHAPTER 111: CHAPTER 111: LET’S GO HOME, MY WIFE!

Her cries grew louder as she felt a warm embrace from someone very special in her life. She stiffly lifted her head, staring at the figure of her handsome husband who was hugging her with a worried look that made her heart even more fragile. The loving gaze that always made her body warm, she hated that gaze so much. All this time she had always cursed and hated her husband who was very kind to her, not deserving of this sincere affection. In her heart she always wondered, why did her husband never feel troubled or angry whenever she yelled at him? Was her husband actually wearing a mask in front of her to hide his sadness?

Even though she hated that look, she loved this warm embrace. Her arms wrapped around her husband’s broad back as she let out her cries even louder.

"Come on, let’s go home, Victoria! You’ll catch a cold if you stay here too long," Matthias said softly.

"How did you know I was here? Did someone tell you?"

"You’re really mean, Victoria. You don’t even let your closest friends and employees contact you. Do you hate me that much?"

Victoria shook her head quickly. "Who said I hate you lately? At first, you seemed really annoying because you forced me to marry you. But, as time went on, I couldn’t hate you."

"Did you know? Actually, while you were traveling, I was following you all this time."

Her eyes widened. "What? But how did you catch up with me? You were still sleeping when I left."

Matthias smiled a mischievous smile, tilting his head right in front of his wife’s eyes. "I’m your husband. How could I not know the places you want to visit?"

"Matthias... I’m sorry. I truly am an ungrateful woman. I’ve always hated you. But back then, there were so many beautiful memories we shared. I forgot them all. Now I understand why you couldn’t let me go easily. And I don’t want to let you go either."

"Now look at my face. Does my facial expression now show that I’m angry?"

Victoria shook her head innocently. "You’re so cute right now."

His right hand stroked his wife’s head. "So, don’t feel guilty just because you’ve been cursing me. If I were you, I would have done the same thing, because I was shocked when I suddenly received a marriage certificate without remembering anything."

"Aren’t you angry to see me running away from you suddenly when I was sleeping? Why don’t you ever complain every time I do things beyond your expectations? Why do you always keep it in your heart?"

"Because I was at a loss for words when it came to you. I was actually really worried about you. I even went to all your friends, but they didn’t know where you were. After some thought, I finally figured it out. That’s why I immediately went after you before I lost track of you."

"I admit, you’re the only one who understands me best. I lost this bet, Matthias. I can’t escape from you."

"Even though you had the chance to escape several times, why didn’t you ever do it?"

"Because... I can’t bear to leave you. I still want to be with you."

"Victoria..."

Victoria lifted her head confidently. Her right hand slowly stroked her husband’s head. "Actually, even before I remember anything, I loved you very much. I told you that when we were on vacation in Guam."

"So now can you give me an answer?"

Victoria nodded for a moment, removed the engagement ring that still hung around her neck, and handed it to her husband. "I’ll give this ring back to you."

"Actually, I wanted to do this more appropriately than before. I must have seemed rude by proposing to you using a marriage certificate you signed yourself."

Remembering her husband’s brazen act, she laughed so hard her stomach hurt. "Actually, at first I thought you were manipulating the marriage certificate."

Matthias’s eyes widened. "Why would I do something so cheap that it could ruin my reputation? I’ve never used dirty tricks to get what I want."

"I know you would never do that. I can see that with your very kind personality."

"Then, I want to propose to you in a more fitting way than before."

Matthias knelt before his beloved wife, holding up the engagement ring with an intense gaze. "This time, I don’t want to upset you like I did last time. I don’t want to let you go again, and I don’t want to lose you. Even if I have to sacrifice everything this time, I have to do it to win you."

"Matthias, won’t you regret it? It’s safe to say you’ll lose everything because of me. Your struggle will be in vain."

"It’s worth it if it’s related to you. I’d rather sacrifice everything than live without happiness. Even though I have everything, my life isn’t happy. That’s what I’ve experienced since you disappeared."

"Matthias... why would you go to such lengths just because of me? Amber is better than me, and from what I see, she seems sincere to you too."

"Because the door of my heart only wants to be open to you. I can’t let my own friend into my heart. You’re better and more sincere than her."

"Matthias..."

"Our marriage contract will end soon, do you want to continue our marriage with me?"

Victoria couldn’t hold back the tears of joy that continued to flow down her cheeks. She kept nodding her head as she extended her right hand. "Help me put the ring on my finger. I can’t bear to see you kneeling for too long."

Matthias smiled happily as he put the diamond ring on his wife’s ring finger, kissing the back of her hand for a few seconds. "Then, may I ask for your help too?"

"What do you want me to do?"

Matthias also took out a diamond ring from his wallet and placed it in his wife’s palm. "This is your engagement ring from before. I’ve actually always kept it in my wallet so I can feel like I’m with you wherever I go."

"Now I also want to propose to you in the right way."
