CHAPTER 285: WHAT? DID YOU FALL FOR ME ALREADY?

The drive to Seo-Jun’s company took a short while, and while I prepared myself for his teasing during the drive, he actually acted more like... A CEO?

I don’t know. He simply sat there, legs crossed and a tablet in his hand, staring at numbers I couldn’t understand.

He was a tech genius so I was sure he was reading coded numbers.

His secretary sat in front and his assistant drove the car. It was the first time I was seeing them. Or maybe it was just the first time I was noticing them.

When I was with my master’s, everyone else faded into the background, especially if it was a side character like an assistant or a secretary.

"Is this all?" He asked his secretary who collected the tablet from him.

"Yes sir." He answered. "I’ve prepared the rest in files and left them on your desk."

"Alright then. Let’s get this over with."

It seemed like they were preparing a new program to aid the project between Min-Cheol and Ki-hoon’s cooperation. Software, AI, apps, websites, all of it, they were in charge of it. That’s why he’s been as busy as they are.

"What?" Seo-Jun suddenly asked, smirking at me. "You’ve been staring? Do I look hot when working?" He asked and though it should’ve come off as cringe, it did not.

Maybe it was because he was indeed hot and seeing him so concentrated, he was smoking.

"Don’t be a narcissist," I said, turning my head away and he laughed. "I was just staring cause you looked so focused and... I didn’t have anywhere else to look."

"Well, it’s not bad." He said and leaned closer, reaching for my chin and turning my face to meet his. "Come on, stare more since you have nowhere else to look."

My heart skipped for a moment.

His hair was slicked backwards, and he looked extremely polished, not like his bad boy Playboy vibes he gives off every other day.

I blushed.

"What? Did you fall for me already?"

This moron, he shouldn’t spout out things like that just to feel me out. It’ll only make me blush more and nothing more.

"A-anyway," I pushed his hand down. "What am I going to do at your office anyway?" I asked.

"Well, nothing, apparently." He said. "Why? Do you want me to hire you as my assistant for the day?"

That again?

"No, I hate working." I crossed my hands, shaking my head.

"Haha, same here. Only I have to." He said. "So then, what were you asking for?"

"Well, I don’t know. Maybe you want to give me something to do other than looking at files and numbers I don’t understand." I said to him.

’Well, there is one thing you can do." He said, but that grin on his lips said it wasn’t something practical.

"Seo-Jun, if you’re going to tell me to become your lap warmer or stuff like that, I’m going to have to decline from the get-go." I said which stunned him.

He blinked and then turned his head, perplexed with his hand over his mouth.

"Fuck! You’re good."

Of course, I can guess that much. There’s nothing else you’d have me do anyway.

"Then how about--?" I quickly cut him short.

"And I definitely don’t want to sit across from you just so you can see my face every time you lift your head," I added, giving him yet another shock.

"How are you doing this? Are you reading my mind or something?" He asked and I sighed.

He was so readable.

"I’ve read a lot of books to know the kind of things that go on in trips like this," I said. "If you’re going to get me, you’re going to use an out-of-the-book approach."

And I was certain none would favor him.

He had read as many books as I have so he should know that all the tactics have been used in the books already.

"Then, what do you want to do?"

"I don’t know. Look around." I said.

I definitely want to sit in one place and read a book, but unfortunately, my goal this time was to stretch my limbs a bit more and see more of his office.

"Then, I’ll assign a guard to you." He said and I nodded.

I don’t mind taking a guard. I mean, I’m weak. If someone tries to bully me, even if I end up reporting it later, I can’t sit back and get bullied just to depend on my master’s retribution later.

I’ll definitely pay them back for it.

Let’s have a little drama, haha.

"Then, can you do me a favor?" I asked.

"What is it?"

"Can you get someone who doesn’t look scary? Oh, and they have to be flexible."

Seo-Jun raised an eyebrow at my request.

He thought about it for a few minutes, longer than I expected and then he asked,

"Can you explain what you mean by flexible?" He asked and I also gave it a brief thought.

"Hm, someone who knows when to say yes even if it goes against your orders. Something like that. So, long he knows it’s not dangerous."

I definitely don’t want a stiff-necked guard who will say no to whatever I want to do and take away all the fun just because of ’master’s orders’. My day would immediately be ruined as soon as it starts out like that.

"Oh, I got it." He said and took out his phone. "Hae-Jin." He called over the phone. "Come over to the company right away. Don’t be late."

"Who’s that?" I asked as Seo-Jun dropped his phone.

"Head of security at my mansion." He said, and a bubble of thoughts floated above my head, imagining what this head of security looked like.

He was probably bulky with bulging muscles you could see over his suit, with a stiff face and shades that tightened his face.

I sighed in defeat.

I just wanted someone normal-looking. Was that too much to ask?

"Haha, don’t be like that. With Hae-Jin by your side, I probably won’t have to worry about someone messing with you." He said. "He’s fun to be around as well."

The image of the bulky man was updated. He had a wide smile which sent chills down my spine as I shuddered.

Maybe I shouldn’t have made a request at all.
