CHAPTER 382: JUST PUT ME DOWN

I wanted to snatch it before then, but I guess it’s too late, given the change in his expression.

"Wow, Jo-Pil, you’ve been doing bad things, and you don’t even invite me," he said, and I clicked my tongue.

I hopped on the couch and reached for the letter. But as soon as I took it, he grabbed me by the waist and lifted me from the couch.

"You..."

"I guess you really don’t add weight when you eat like a pig," he said, and I raised an eyebrow at him.

Really? He was going to do this now? In front of the guest?

"Put me down, Seo-Jun," I said as I began kicking my legs.

"Oh my, the bunny’s suddenly quite feisty. Why don’t you tell me please?" he said, and I rolled my eyes.

This man was just too much.

"P—"

"Wait, I changed my mind," he said, and I growled, glaring daggers at him. What did he want?

He was carrying me like I weighed nothing, and Jie-Yu was looking. How embarrassing.

"If you call me the name that’s in that letter, the one you called Jin-Yeok, I’ll place you down nice and softly," he said, and the corner of my lips practically twisted at his shamelessness.

"Why don’t you go fuck yourself instead?" I cursed at him, but that seemed to turn him on more than me begging him.

"Ah, no, that can’t work. That’s where you come in handy, Jo-Pil. So how about it? I’ll fuck you real good, so just follow me up to my room." He grinned, and the color faded from my face.

This is why I do not indulge this bastard. It’s all junk that comes out of his mouth when he decides to respond to something crude.

"Just put me down," I said, and he laughed, cordially placing me down because he knew he had taken the last straw.

"Does your underarm hurt?" he asked, but I shook my head.

Though he was the one who held me up like that, he was worried about my underarm.

I feel so underestimated.

"What about you?" I grinned. "Do you feel your shoulders falling from holding up my weight?" As soon as I said that, he laughed. Yup, completely underestimated.

"You? Weight? You don’t even weigh as much as the pillow."

"Get lost." I turned and looked at Jie-Yu, who was lost for words. She didn’t know how to interpret this situation.

"Ahem," I cleared my throat. "Seo-Jun, let me introduce you. This is Choi Jie-Yu," I said.

"Ah, the one from the ’incident’," he said, and I nearly gagged at his pretence.

Look at him acting like he knew what happened just to sneak out little bits of information, as if I wasn’t going to tell them in the end.

"Good... good afternoon." Jie-Yu immediately stood to her feet, bowing her head at an 80-degree angle.

Seo-Jun looked at this and then tilted his head to me, asking,

"Why is she bowing like that?"

"Because your face scares her," I whispered back, but that only flipped the switch of his narcissism on.

"No way, I’m charming," he said and then walked closer to her. "Raise your head," he said, and the moment she did, her eyes met his. "How about it? Does my face scare you?"

She was stunned, speechless, and a bit flustered.

Yeah, that appears to be the normal reaction of anyone who comes face-to-face with a handsome and rich man.

I’ve grown a bit of immunity to it, but... how tragic, the handsomeness gets me every time.

"Y-yes," she said, but I could clearly see spirals in her eyes. She was long gone, this girl. This was too much for her to handle.

But at least she was being a blushing mess and thinking of how to steal my man’s attention.

"Anyway, I wanted to ask if she could stay here for a few days," I asked, and Seo-Jun frowned.

"Why?"

"Well, nothing grand. She’s my benefactor, and I want to get to know her better." I’m not allowed outside on my own, so the only way to get to know someone other than meeting regularly would be to have them close by. Like... really close. Housemate closeness.

"You still haven’t told us what was so big that she could come to the mansion as she pleased," he said, and this made Jie-Yu feel a bit awkward.

"Well, if you really want to know what happened then—"

"What’s going on, Hyung?" Min-Cheol asked as he walked towards us.

Ah, he was back from jerking off, I see.

I could smell his Pheromones and a bit of lemon-flavored soap around him. He probably thought he could mask the smell of his semen if he did this, but what was the use when I already knew what he was holding to after dashing out of my room like that?

"Good, you’re here. I was just about to tell Seo-Jun why Jie-Yu is important," I said, and he tilted his head.

"Jie-Yu?"

He seemed to have a short-term memory for anything that he wasn’t interested in.

"Yes, Jie-Yu. Choi Jie-Yu." I pointed at her so he could see, and once Jie-Yu saw him, she began to foam at the mouth.

The pressure... it was just too much.

Well, it’s better if she passes out first. Let me deal with these two.

I told them about how the champagne pyramid fell, and I was right next to it at the time. It was thanks to Jie-Yu pulling me away from there that I was able to escape getting injured.

She even got injured in my place. So, of course, she was important.

"But does she have to stay here?" Seo-Jun asked, massaging his brows.

Wow, I thought the first thing they would do was get pissed at Jin-Yeok for not doing his job properly and protecting me.

But I guess since nothing happened to me, and Seo-Jun, the reckless, wasn’t the one who had been with me at the time, it didn’t drag on from there.

"What? She’s staying here?" Min-Cheol asked, shocked.

"Well, just for a few days," I said.

"But her being your benefactor doesn’t mean she has to stay. I mean, you could just compensate her," he nonchalantly said, but that made me frown.

"I don’t think I need you to tell me how I should compensate my benefactor," I coldly said to him, which shocked both of them.

"Wow, Hyung is really upset," Min-Cheol commented, and I sighed, letting go of it.

I was just pissed at how he simply dismissed it with compensation. He doesn’t know I’m trying to make an ally here. And not just that... a friend.

"I want her to be my friend," I said to them. "I don’t have any."

"When I offered to be your friend, you declined," Seo-Jun said, folding his arms, and I flinched.

"That’s just ’cause I don’t want to be friends with you," I plainly said, striking his heart deep as I folded my arms. "I can’t be friends if all you think about is how to tease me till my brain explodes. Hmph!" I folded my arms, throwing my face away.

"Yes, Hyung can’t be friends with you if you do all that," Min-Cheol said but then realized what I had said. "But Hyung, why did you say you have no friends? What about me?"

"It’s not the same, Little Min," I shook my head. "Of course we’re friends, but..." I looked away a bit. "It’s not very... natural."
