Ning Chu’s face froze in horror as the bathroom door was slowly pushed open. For a moment, her mind went completely blank.

Wait—what? She clearly remembered checking the lock!

It should’ve been locked… right?

She stood there dumbfounded, an overwhelming sense of danger creeping up her spine, making her skin prickle.

Oh crap. Her “plot” had just appeared out of nowhere.

A flood of possibilities flashed through her mind in an instant, but the conclusion was the same: no matter how she looked at it, today she was doomed.

Right now, she was in the succubus state’s random heat mode. Even if she somehow forced herself to resist and turned down Wen Yang’s “help,” that would only trigger a second heat for breaking the plot. With the taste of intimacy still fresh in her memory, her self-control wouldn’t hold out—she’d likely break down completely and throw herself at Wen Yang until he was drained dry.

That part wasn’t too terrible—at worst, it just meant breaking her “one-day abstinence.” But according to the plot, Zhang Shaoqing was also supposed to suddenly return… and that would be a disaster.

Panicking, Ning Chu quickly pressed her hands against the bathroom door.

“What’s wrong?” Wen Yang asked, surprised from outside.

“I—I’m taking a shower! Don’t come in!”

“We’ve been together forever… it’s not like you’re on the toilet,” he said casually.

Ning Chu bit her lip and looked down at her lower belly, where the pale pink patterns had already shifted into a more dangerous, violet hue.

Her pale skin was flushed all over, the markings glowing faintly with seductive color. The heat radiating off her body was enough to break any man’s self-control.

No way! She’d really have to… deal with her body’s needs now, just like in the story, or else risk spiraling into a second heat that would completely shatter her reason.

If she lost control in the middle of the day, her cries would probably be heard upstairs, downstairs—maybe even out on the street. That was way too terrifying.

A soft moan slipped past her lips before she could stop it, and she immediately clapped a hand over her mouth in panic.

From outside, Wen Yang caught the sound and couldn’t help but grin teasingly.

“What are you doing in there?”

“D-don’t lean on the door! I need to lock it again!”

Her sticky, husky voice made Wen Yang’s heart pound with excitement.

“Why lock it? It’s not like I haven’t seen before.”

He had seen everything already, after all—inside and out.

“It’s not— hey—!”

Suddenly, a loud crash came from inside the bathroom, startling Wen Yang. He ignored Ning Chu’s protests and shoved the door open.

Steam billowed out. Through the mist, the little succubus sat collapsed on the floor, legs spread awkwardly to the side, her brows furrowed in pain. The mop and bucket had toppled over around her.

“You okay?” Wen Yang stepped in, only to flinch at the scalding water on the tiles. He stayed back, worried. “Did you hurt yourself?”

“Mmm~”

The soft, muffled moan made Wen Yang freeze—only then realizing she hadn’t actually stopped what she was doing.

Her body was half-turned, the haze of steam hiding the details, which only made Wen Yang’s imagination run even wilder.

Meanwhile, Ning Chu lifted her head, dazed and despairing, staring at the hungry wolf that was about to pounce on the little white rabbit.

‘It’s over!’

‘Aside from the location, this was unfolding exactly like the plot!’

Her mind screamed resistance, but her body was already going weak. She pushed lightly against Wen Yang’s chest, then buried her red face against his collarbone.

‘It’s all over~’

“W-Wen Yang…” she whispered, trying one last time to struggle.

“What is it?” he asked.

“This is the plot… Shaoqing will definitely come back halfway…”

“What plot?” Wen Yang frowned. Even though he had read Ning Chu’s stories before, it took him a second to realize what she meant.

He froze for a moment, then finally remembered what she meant by “plot.”

“It’s fine. Shaoqing isn’t some bull-headed villain in your stories.”

Ning Chu’s mind went blank, like an old TV gone snowy, buzzing nonstop.

. . .

“Damn it! What a load of crap!”

Zhang Shaoqing stormed out of the restaurant, cursing under his breath. He kicked an empty can on the ground, only to stumble and nearly fall flat on his ass.

“Damn it! Even cans are bullying me now— If I ever work as a waiter again, I’m a dog!”

He’d just started the job, and while delivering dishes, a running kid had crashed into him, making him spill food all over a customer. Getting chewed out by the customer was one thing, but then the boss tore into him too. Furious, he quit on the spot.

“When have I ever put up with this kind of crap?!”

Walking to the roadside, Zhang Shaoqing tilted his head back, looking up at the chilly winter sky. With a long sigh, he muttered, “I’m broke… Guess it’s time to go home. Ning Chu probably doesn’t want me around anyway…”

As a second-gen rich kid, at least he had some self-awareness.

These bottom-rung, day-labor jobs weren’t for him. He’d been pampered his whole life, he hadn’t even washed his own dishes before.

And now, with most of his cash already spent, he figured it was better to swallow his pride, go home, apologize, and get back to enjoying life as a rich kid.

It’s not like he gambled, did drugs, or was a total degenerate. As long as he stayed out of trouble, there was no way he could ruin the family business. Why not just live the easy life of a rich young master?

The rental wasn’t far from the city’s village district, so he hopped on the bus, slowly making his way back.

“The real problem is Qian Qian… She hasn’t talked to me for days. Wonder if she’s given up on me yet…”

Zhang Shaoqing realized his taste in women was basically tailor-made for getting cucked—he always liked the ones who didn’t like him. A perfect match.

But that also meant he risked getting beaten to death… and driving Ning Chu insane.

Dragging his feet upstairs, he reached the rental and suddenly froze. There, on the shoe rack, was a pair of small sneakers.

Ning Chu was here?

He blinked, slipped his key back into his pocket, and knocked on the door. Silence. No answer.

“Great. I get screamed at for being a waiter, and you guys are in there having fun.”

Cursing, Zhang Shaoqing slumped onto the nearby staircase. Pulling out a pack of cigarettes, he lit one and smoked with a pitiful expression.

“At the very least, before I leave, Ning Chu owes me a meal…”

. . .

Inside the rental’s bathroom.

The knock made Ning Chu’s whole body tense. Wen Yang, on the other hand, looked so strained he was pale.

He patted Ning Chu’s back gently to calm her. “Relax. It’s fine.”

“No, it’s not…” she muttered.

“Shaoqing’s not stupid,” Wen Yang said with a helpless laugh. “And he’s not the kind of villain from your stories who goes around tormenting girls. By your own logic, he’s just a goofy rich kid.”

“…Fine.”

Wen Yang had long been itching to “reenact” one of Ning Chu’s own plots. It was just too exciting. “So, which storyline should we play out next time?”

“Play?! You pervert!”

“…”

Outside on the stairs, more than a dozen cigarette butts lay scattered. Zhang Shaoqing leaned his head against the wall, yawning now and then.

He stared at the door with resentful eyes, looking for all the world like an abandoned housewife.

“It’s almost three… I just want to go in, grab my luggage, and leave. Where else are you gonna find a roommate as considerate as me? I’ve been sitting here for over an hour, sacrificing my own time for my roommate’s happiness.”
