Chapter 97 - 14: Witch Hunter 6
CHAPTER 97: CHAPTER 14: WITCH HUNTER 6
The battle is over.
Su Ziyu looked at the female warlocks who were so shocked they seemed a bit dazed, and a gentle smile appeared on his face as he softly said, "Is anyone injured? I still have the healing potions you gave me."
The surroundings were dead silent.
After a while, Van Helsing’s violent coughing echoed, his face flushed red, his expression excited and emotional, trembling and breathing heavily as he said, "Legendary..."
"You’re from the Cat School..."
Su Ziyu somewhat couldn’t understand what Van Helsing was talking about.
However, those female warlocks seemed to understand his meaning, and their gazes towards Su Ziyu immediately changed somewhat.
Though Demon Hunters were created by wizards, possessing relatively weak casting abilities.
But their potential for growth was in no way smaller than that of wizards. Legendary was a special benchmark, and although there was no clear historical data showing any Demon Hunter achieving legendary strength, internally, the Demon Hunter organization believed that if one could develop their potential to that level, even a single Demon Hunter could possess the terrifying strength to fight against a hundred.
The ability Su Ziyu just displayed reminded Van Helsing of a long-lost special Demon Hunter School.
The Cat School!
Within the Demon Hunter organization, there were many different schools, each specializing in different directions. The more common Demon Hunter schools include the Wolf School, Bear School, Viper School, Griffin School, Eagle School, and so on. Van Helsing came from the less common Raven School. Each school of Demon Hunters mastered different abilities; for instance, the Viper School specialized in poison and had the strongest resistance to toxins, the Bear School had the highest strength and defense, capable of directly confronting monsters, the Griffin School excelled in Dharma Seals, being more proficient in magic than other Demon Hunters.
However, the Cat School mentioned by Van Helsing was a very special Demon Hunter School.
The fighting style of Cat School Demon Hunters focused on increasing speed, precision, and agility; they wore almost no armor, so they couldn’t withstand much damage like other Demon Hunters.
But Cat School Demon Hunters were the top-tier assassins.
Due to consuming magic potions, Demon Hunters triggered genetic mutations and gained superhuman strength. Some of them developed slight mental issues during this process, considered to be emotional deficits or some kind of mental disorders. These Demon Hunters were initially exiled, becoming the founders of the Cat School.
Cats seemingly have a bit of a mental issue by nature.
Because no matter how well you treat them, they still look down on you.
The stance of Cat School Demon Hunters was unpredictable. In the past, they accepted normal monster hunting commissions and also accepted non-standard assassination commissions. They operated like assassins for a period and frequently embroiled themselves in dirty political disputes. Because of this, Cat School Demon Hunters had notorious reputations and were despised by other Demon Hunters, to the point where sightings of this school’s members are practically nonexistent now.
The Cat School Demon Hunters have been silent for decades.
Van Helsing seemed to have attributed the astonishing speed displayed by Su Ziyu using Time Acceleration as some special power of the Cat School since Cat School Demon Hunters were far more rapid and had more striking explosive power than other Demon Hunters!
Considering Su Ziyu’s initial unwillingness to reveal his identity and school, Van Helsing was even more convinced of his guess.
After all, the Cat School did have a notoriously bad reputation in the past.
"I’m not from the Cat School." Su Ziyu thought for a moment and understood what Van Helsing meant. He smiled and shook his head, saying, "I just know a little bit of everything."
Van Helsing had mentioned Demon Hunter Schools before and had probed his origin, so Su Ziyu knew a bit about the Cat School.
Today’s Demon Hunters have become weak.
The Cat School is nearly extinct; he doesn’t plan to impersonate that identity. Like Su Ziyu said before, he’s now just a traveler, doing what he wants and ought to do.
"Let’s clean up the battlefield." Su Ziyu looked around and said.
He was very interested in Anti-Magic Metal.
This metal is incredibly valuable.
Though there seemed to be quite a bit of it in this world, he planned to collect some and save it; maybe it would be useful later.
The female warlocks were not apprehensive because Su Ziyu might be from the Cat School. Instead, when they exchanged glances, a hint of excitement was evident in their eyes. Because Cat School Demon Hunters were not as steadfast in their positions as other Demon Hunters, nor were they as stubborn. As long as the price was right, they could accept any commission, regardless of whether it violates the Demon Hunter’s creed.
In the current situation, a powerful Cat School Demon Hunter was obviously much easier to attract than others.
Time passed slowly.
Su Ziyu found many good things on the Witch Hunters, but to avoid exposing the secret of having an other-dimensional storage space, he carried most of the spoils on his back.
Of course.
He still secretly put away the most important ones.
These Witch Hunters prepared quite a few Demon-Blocking Golden Shackles, which were said to completely suppress the casting abilities of female warlocks once they were restrained.
The night grew deeper.
After handling the battlefield briefly, the group quickly left.
They did not return to Lund City but instead headed to a hidden estate, which seemed to be the property of a certain female warlock.
The next day.
While Su Ziyu rested, people began arriving one after another near this estate, all beautiful women with hidden identities. Melissa, who stayed in Lund City, was also brought over by people sent by Alice. They quietly brought back the body of the warlock Jenny and buried it in the garden of this estate.
Su Ziyu also attended this solemn funeral.
These female warlocks seemed to have experienced too much death; their expressions were sad yet strong. Van Helsing mentioned that over the years, thousands have been burned to death by Witch Hunters, among whom a real witch was only a small part, with most being ordinary, unfortunate women. Their beauty brought them disaster, and for reasons like greed, jealousy, and hatred, they were burned as witches by ordinary people.
This is a chaotic era.
Even female warlocks with magic power cannot ensure their own safety.
Van Helsing was not seriously injured, but his body was severely exhausted due to Czech-03 and the Alchemy Potion, so he still had to lie in bed unable to move, with Melissa taking care of him.
The female warlocks quietly transferred others away.
Through simple conversations, Su Ziyu discovered that they seemed to plan to escape collectively, crossing the sea to a place called the City of Freedom.
