Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 174 - 141: Comprehending the Spell_2
CHAPTER 174: CHAPTER 141: COMPREHENDING THE SPELL_2
After reminiscing for a moment, Chadite patted her cheeks, stood up, and said, "Alright, let’s get down to business."
Alka nodded and said directly, "Try and see if you can control your own Dream Realm first."
"Just imagine changing it in your mind."
Chadite nodded, frowning as she looked at the surrounding environment.
At first, nothing changed. As time passed, a gentle breeze began to appear. The sky slowly transitioned from clear to dusk, yet at a rate definitively faster than the natural passage of time. The fruit trees nearby transformed from lush green leaves to blooming flowers, with fruits visibly growing and then ripening.
Only then did Chadite’s brow relax. She looked at Alka and said, "I can change it, but it’s quite mentally taxing—I feel a bit tired. Also, I find it really hard to change, very difficult."
This means that altering the Dream Realm is relatively mentally taxing, possibly related to the strength of the soul. So, that’s why it’s excessively difficult for Lucilia to try and change the Dream Realm; even a slight alteration leaves her exhausted. It’s uncertain whether more training could expedite or ease this process. I can experiment with this later. As for the usefulness of altering the Dream Realm? I haven’t thought of any yet, but it certainly won’t be useless.
"Now try to see if you can awaken yourself."
"I’ll give it a shot."
After a while, Chadite shook her head.
"No, I have no idea how."
Alka nodded. "Alright, don’t force it. We’ll try again later. For now, I’ll go to the outside world and try to awaken you. See if you can perceive this feeling of awakening."
Chadite is a Toucher. I wonder if she can grasp this feeling of awakening and be able to awaken freely in the future. As for Lucilia, she wasn’t a Toucher in life, so her soul’s strength is limited; I can’t ask too much of her.
With that said, Alka’s body disappeared from the Dream Realm.
「In reality, he once again opened his eyes.」
"You’re awake."
Alka nodded, then reached out and gently pushed Chadite, who was in Deep Sleep on the deck.
With the push, Chadite immediately tilted to the side.
Alka quickly stepped forward to catch her. The sudden movement was quite startling, and Chadite opened her eyes, looking at Alka in front of her, then used his shoulder to stand up.
She frowned, trying to recall the recent sensation.
She nodded and said, "Hmm... I have a certain feeling. With more training, I should be able to use this sensation to awaken freely from dreams."
Hearing this, Alka nodded.
At this point, Lucilia said, "Actually, you can both touch this Treasure from time to time. Let Alka activate it; this will make it easier to comprehend some Spells related to this Treasure."
Hearing Lucilia’s words, the two of them instantly turned their heads to stare at her.
"Is there really such a thing?" Alka asked curiously.
Hearing this, Lucilia once again adopted her lecturing tone.
"Of course. How else do you think so many Spells came into being? Just from a genius’s first touch? Certainly not."
"Prolonged contact with a Treasure can also lead to comprehending related Spells, though they are certainly not as powerful as those comprehended during the first touch."
At this point, Lucilia slid down from Alka’s back, floating to sit in the air between the two.
"That’s why comprehending Spells on the first touch is so valuable. And obtaining a Core Spell? That’s even more precious."
"In my former family, if someone comprehended a Treasure’s Core Spell upon touching it, they would be added to the list of candidates for Treasure Controller."
Lucilia recounted the information she knew.
The two listened to Lucilia’s words, absorbing the incredible information she unwittingly revealed. One could tell from her words just how powerful Lucilia’s former family must have been. They must have possessed multiple Treasures to have such a well-defined standard. One or two Treasures definitely wouldn’t necessitate such a standard.
Thinking of this, Alka nudged Chadite beside him with his elbow. "Does the Church have such a system?"
After all, from what I know, the Church possesses no fewer than four Treasures. The Treasures that I, Jason, Chadite, and Andre touched were all different.
Chadite shook her head. "I was just a Saintess candidate, and I ran away. I’m not qualified to know such things."
"However, my selection as a Saintess candidate might be related to the Spell I comprehended when I touched the Treasure."
If that’s the case, the Church likely has a similar system too.
"COUGH, COUGH! No whispering."
Hearing Lucilia’s words, the two quickly shut up and listened intently.
It was lesson time.
"Even if they’re inferior to the Spells comprehended from the first touch, Spells understood from frequent contact with a Treasure afterward aren’t necessarily useless. Who knows, you might comprehend some powerful Spell unexpectedly."
"So, since you have a Treasure, make good use of it. Let everyone touch it from time to time. Maybe someone will get lucky and hit the jackpot!"
Hearing this, Alka waved his hand, and the Dream Catcher at his waist floated up in front of him.
He looked at Chadite beside him and nodded, signaling her to give it a try.
Chadite rubbed her hands, somewhat nervously reaching out her hand.
