Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer

CHAPTER 228: CHAPTER 159: BLADE OF FROST_2
Alka looked up. Faint snowflakes were already sprinkling down from the sky, and the cold wind had become even more piercing.
"It’s snowing already? It would be strange if there weren’t any problems in this place," Alka couldn’t help but grumble. "Just half a day ago at most, we were in a tropical-like area, wearing short sleeves and basking in the sunlight reflected off the sea. With our sailing speed, we shouldn’t have traveled too far in that half day."
As the snow fell, it marked their official entry into the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone—this triangular area, so out of place with its surroundings.
"Of the three islands in the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone, which one should we go to first?"
Listening to Chadite’s question, Alka went to her side, flipped open the map, and began to examine it. They had entered along one edge of the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone. There were islands on both sides, and another one straight ahead. The three islands formed a triangle, locking the cold within this area.
Previously, the Church believed that the island potentially holding a Treasure was the one directly ahead. However, from Alka’s perspective, this was wrong; the island to the left was the true location shining with golden light. The island ahead was marked with only a blue dot; it was their initial destination.
"Let’s continue towards the initial destination. First to the Ice Cap straight ahead."
Indeed, the island directly ahead was named the Ice Cap. Hearing Alka’s words, Chadite nodded. Their ship then sailed straight onward.
The snow falling from the sky grew heavier and heavier, eventually obscuring their vision. It turned into a blizzard, the large flakes swept along by the cold wind, resembling a snowstorm. The snow accumulated on the ship, covering the deck and piling up ever higher.
"No, there’s too much snow! Quick, get moving! Shovel this snow off!"
With that, everyone sprang into action. As they shoveled, the ship’s speed began to decrease.
Alka went to the bow and looked down. The sea surface below was choked with numerous ice blocks. These ice blocks obstructed their path, making navigation nearly impossible. To sail on such an icy surface, an icebreaker was needed.
Surveying the surroundings, Alka waved to Chadite behind him. They could only detour.
At this moment, the bronze bell hung on the main mast started to swing from side to side, emitting a crisp sound—a warning signal from the ship. It indicated the ship was under attack.
Pororo, still shoveling snow, frowned. He closed his eyes and listened intently but couldn’t detect any attack. Chadite, at the helm, stomped her foot, and silver ripples spread from her foot across the deck, penetrating the hull and entering the seawater.
Pororo seemed to hear the enemy’s movements. He threw down his shovel on the deck, leaped onto the ice below, and immediately dove into the water through the fragmented ice.
Chadite also sensed the enemy’s presence. "More enemies are closing in, along the side of the ship!"
Upon hearing this, Alka quickly moved to the ship’s side and looked down.
Unicorn monsters were clinging to the hull, climbing up from the seabed. These monsters had sharp teeth. Upon seeing Alka and the others’ gaze, they immediately roared. Then they became more excited, their claws gripping the hull as they climbed quickly.
Jason raised the rifle-type Vibrating Stone Gun from his back, aimed at one of them, and pulled the trigger. The bullet whistled out. It pierced directly through a monster’s head, leaving a bloody hole, and the creature fell into the icy sea.
"Very weak. They can’t even reach One Spiral. Just ordinary Sea Beasts."
Two red magic cards slid obliquely into the sea. As red light flashed, the sea surface rapidly boiled. Two columns of flame erupted from the sea, igniting the monsters climbing up the side of the ship. The intense heat caused the Sea Beasts extreme suffering, and they tumbled into the sea one after another. Their attack was quickly repelled.
「On the other side.」
Julia’s ribbons swept all the monsters clinging to the side of the hull, lashing out like gigantic whips. This prevented the monsters from getting close at all.
A red magic card flew obliquely from Alka’s direction, plunging into the sea. The violent eruption of flames instantly boiled the seawater and melted the surrounding thin ice, even causing the ambient temperature to rise. The Cross Flame inflicted massive damage on these monsters. They tumbled into the sea one after another, retreating from the scalding waters.
After a short while, Pororo leaped back aboard. Dozens of Sea Beast corpses floated on the surrounding sea surface. Most of them bore various cracks and gashes on their upper bodies. Clearly, it was Pororo’s handiwork.
Having climbed up, Pororo couldn’t help but spit downward. Some bloody morsels of flesh were spat out along with it.
"PAH! This Sea Beast meat is disgusting—like chewing rubber!"
It seemed he had, as usual, attacked these monsters with his lethal teeth and terrifying bite force. He then took the towel Alka handed him and wiped the water from his body.
The ship was undamaged; the monsters hadn’t managed to harm the Spell Ship.
