CHAPTER 378: CHAPTER 209 TREASURE: RING OF LIGHT_2

As the Scythe blade sliced completely into the enemy’s neck, the entire Light and Shadow Scythe’s blade seethed. The blade, composed of light and shadow, seemed to churn, beginning to cut in a spiral, like a saw. The blade rapidly approached his spine. All the while, the flames engulfing the enemy made him thrash wildly where he stood.

Confronted with this, Alka focused his Magic Power.

The enemy seemed to sense his impending death, yet his body still didn’t turn to block the attack. Two large holes burst open in his back, and two Black Oil pipes shot out, rapidly charging toward Alka. The instant the gushing Black Oil pipes emerged, they were ignited by the flames.

Seeing this, Alka released the Scythe, leaving it embedded in the enemy’s neck, and quickly retreated. Two silver cards flew out from beneath his cloak, tracing two arcs as they sped towards the enemy’s back, flashing with Silver Light. The two Black Oil pipes were instantly severed, clattering to the ground.

The enemy had turned, his hand reaching for his back, apparently trying to remove the Scythe from his body.

Alka raised his hand.

The Light and Shadow Scythe was forcefully pulled free and flew swiftly toward Alka, who caught it. In the instant it was withdrawn, the sliding blade had already pierced the enemy’s spine. The enemy twitched twice but still charged at Alka.

With arms swinging, he fired volley after volley of dark green, skull-shaped Energy missiles. This was clearly an Undead Energy Attack.

Alka couldn’t tell if it was his imagination, but these Energy Attacks seemed unusually scattered. After dodging several attacks, a swift dark green arrow, hidden behind the barrage, shot straight at Alka’s face. Alka tilted his head; the cloak instantly dropped, shielding his cheek. The dark green arrow brushed past the cloak and flew wide.

Meanwhile, the enemy’s iron fist was already upon him, punching towards Alka. Alka raised his hand, lifting the cloak, and took the hit squarely.

Such immense strength!

Alka felt a powerful force slam into his arm, sending his entire body flying backward. The punch not only shattered Alka’s Shield but its mighty force even pierced the Cloak of Light and Shadow. He could feel it; his arm was definitely fractured.

After throwing this punch, the enemy began to sway from side to side again. It was as if the earlier smooth combo had not been executed by him; his body was stiff, as if it had jammed.

As Alka flew through mid-air, a ribbon shot out from the side and wrapped around him.

"Toss me over!"

Hearing this, Julia changed her exertion of force, hurling Alka fiercely towards the enemy. The enemy, shaking off his stiffness, also charged forward.

As Alka was tossed, a thick pink mist erupted from his legs. Alka’s speed increased dramatically.

A pink streak of light and a green one intertwined in mid-air. Alka swept past the enemy, skidding to a halt.

The zombie was already slumping to a half-kneel, his left arm severed at the shoulder. Copious amounts of liquid gushed from the severed limb, igniting instantly and turning the surroundings into a sea of fire.

Alka gave the enemy no respite. He spun around, swiftly raised his Scythe, and poured immense Magic Power into it before hurling it fiercely. The spinning Scythe formed a deadly, circular vortex in the air as it sliced straight towards the enemy.

The zombie clearly sensed the impending attack and rolled sideways, narrowly dodging it. He scrambled to his feet to face Alka, but his body immediately seized up again, stiff and unresponsive, leaving him struggling fruitlessly where he stood.

Several black pipes burst from his body, shooting towards Alka.

Facing the incoming pipes, Alka stood his ground. When the pipes were just two meters from him, they abruptly halted in mid-air, then clattered uselessly to the ground.

At this moment, the enemy’s chest had already been pierced by a sharp Scythe blade. From behind his head, the black silhouette of the Scythe’s vertical handle was still visible.

Alka raised his left hand, fingers spread.

The force of its spiraling return dragged the enemy’s corpse into the air and towards Alka. Alka fiercely grabbed the handle, then stepped on the enemy’s shoulder, pulling back forcefully. The blade, embedded deep in the enemy’s back, tore savagely upward as Alka pulled.

CREAK!

With an ear-piercing sound, the entire Scythe was wrenched free, fragments of limbs and Black Oil pipes still clinging to the blade.

Alka exhaled heavily, slung the Scythe onto his shoulder, and glanced at the corpse pinned beneath his foot on the ground. It was now clear: the enemy had been cleaved in two, from the center of his shoulder all the way up to his head. The gash ran from his neck upwards, exiting behind his ear.

The corpse on the ground continuously gushed Black Oil. Ignited by the flames still licking at his body, it quickly spread the inferno.

Gazing at the corpse, Alka lifted his Scythe. Its tip hooked a burning headband that still flickered with a faint golden light.
