CHAPTER 469: CHAPTER 239 ARMORY_3

"There are actually so many Spells inscribed inside, lined up so neatly, and they’ve even used such precise construction techniques."

I have no doubt that if this thing fires, it could cause unimaginable destruction."

Saying so, he even stuck his entire head inside the barrel, examining the interior even more closely.

"Uh... he’s lost it again," Jason said helplessly.

Alka shrugged. "Forget it, just let him look for a while. If we interrupt him now he’ll go crazy. Let’s go check on Lucilia."

So they quietly moved away, leaving the central area for Simon to be alone.

After all, he’s the tech specialist on the ship; this thing will have to be handed over to him for research eventually.

They found Lucilia in a corner, decoding something in front of those discarded weapons.

Beside her was a block of metallic stele, covered in densely packed, unreadable characters.

"So, Lucilia, did you find anything useful?"

"Not much," Lucilia shook her head.

"This is just a plain weapons storage facility. Besides the serial numbers engraved on the weapons, and the arsenal rules and weapon names on the side, there’s no other information."

So, staying here would be pointless.

The group returned once more to the center.

Simon seemed a bit better by then, though he was still remarkably obsessed.

"Whoa, what’s up with him?" Lucilia asked in surprise.

This was her first time seeing Simon like this.

"Uh... just one of his little quirks," Jason said awkwardly.

Then he and Alka walked over and forcibly dragged Simon back.

"Calm down. Think how we’re going to get this thing out."

"We can’t just carry this up to the ship—not with all the townsfolk watching. That wouldn’t look good."

Hearing this, Simon finally snapped out of it a bit and said, "It’s fine. We’ll take it apart. It’s built as a modular Combination—we can split it into three pieces. Each of us takes one and stuffs it into a Pocket Ring."

He then walked up again and ran his hands over the Cannon.

This time, he managed to restrain himself.

Magic Power surged from his hands, bright runes appeared along the Cannon’s surface, and then the barrel split from the middle. Simon cradled one section and removed it.

Jason quickly took it and stuffed it into his Pocket Ring.

Thankfully, before leaving, they’d cleaned out their Pocket Rings and made plenty of space.

Next, the rear section was stowed away in Simon’s own Pocket Ring, and finally, the base.

This was the biggest and bulkiest part.

Alka looked inside his Pocket Ring and shook his head helplessly.

He had too much stuff inside; even after cleaning, he still couldn’t fit it.

So in the end, Chadite had to put the base into his own Pocket Ring.

Once all that was done, the group left the Teleportation Gate.

Standing outside the Gate, Lucilia recited the secret phrase backward, and the Teleportation Gate instantly shut down.

"The solidity of this space is way better than the last one," Julia said from above the pit.

"Maybe because it’s an armory inside,"

Chadite speculated.

"So, do we keep digging?"

"Dig, of course, why not?"

Alka checked the time estimate—their efficiency today had been high, it’d only been a bit over 9 hours since morning, at least half the day till nightfall.

Simon gathered the battlefield debris, and the group started digging downward again.

This time, they managed to dig out the entire ruin by sheer force. Lucilia was constantly decoding the whole place, hoping to get some useful information.

The only downside was that there weren’t any valuable hotspots around this area.

They only found some precious metals and gemstones of value.

Once the whole ruin had been excavated, Lucilia finally nodded and said,

"The only potentially important thing I know from this area is that in Vastva City-State, there’s a place for entertaining important guests called the Observation Hall, which also serves as Vastva’s museum."

There might be more information about Vastva City-State there, since it’s for entertaining outsiders and also a city historical museum, right?"

Alka thought this information would be extremely useful; if they could find the place, it’d surely help them better understand this city.

But he just hoped the museum would have well-preserved Magic Items.

Even if there were no Magic Items, there had to be at least some regular precious objects, or it’d be hard to pinpoint on the map.

Whatever—at this rate, there might be only a few hours till nightfall anyway.

So he said, "Let’s call it a day. We’ll head back and sort out our loot, and I’ll think about what to do next."

The others nodded, and began burying the ruin again.

With that done, they headed back the way they came.

"Are those constructs completely under your control now?" Alka asked, glancing at the Sentry Patrol Plane hovering around Simon.

Sentry Patrol Plane: that was the construct’s name, written on the metal stele back at the armory.

"Fully under my control now—though only four are in perfect shape, all the others have some pretty serious problems."

Simon said, a little regretful.

He now had only four still floating by his side; all the malfunctioning ones he’d stuffed into his Pocket Ring.

There were also some being carried by others in their Pocket Rings, since quite a few were damaged.

But hey, these are just malfunctioning—not unusable. He’d just need to study them and see if he can try repairing them.

Chatting like this, the group soon made it back to the small town.

As soon as they entered, a human came over, clearly a crewmember from the merchant ship.

"Hello."
