Alka found relics of Great Warriors at two of the blue dots, where the remains clearly indicated weapons and equipment. Further up were the Eye of Secret Technique and the Hand of War, who also controlled a Temple and oversaw research. Even higher was the High Priest, leading the four major Temples. Alka wondered if this was the peak of power, or if someone with even greater authority existed above them. Based on this information, Vastva seemed to operate more like a council system.

Alka continued clicking the white dots until he finally selected the one he was looking for.

This means that by finding this place, I can get a comprehensive understanding of the city of Vastva, he realized. Alka and the others had certainly not exposed their belief in the Holy Mother on the island; they hadn’t even performed any gestures. In contrast, Simon and Matilda had made prayer gestures for their respective Divines. Even if he was pretending to curry favor, he shouldn’t have used the Holy Mother’s gesture. Unless...

At this thought, Alka squinted. Unless he realized that I and the others believe in the Holy Mother. I’m the leader, and believers in the Holy Mother form the majority in our group. Chadite, Jason, Juanlu, and I are all natives of the Homeland Sea and believe in the Holy Mother. If he can discern my faith, could he also perceive the Treasures our team possesses? After all, although our team is small, the number of Treasures we hold is considerable. A total of five Treasures! That’s an absolutely astounding quantity. Yet, among our team, the strongest is only at Seven Spirals, while Balazs is clearly a Third Stage individual.

Within the same Stage, it’s not uncommon for those at Low Spiral to defeat those at High Stage using superior numbers or other tactics. But battling across Stages is not a simple matter. The power disparity when crossing even one Stage is tremendous. Unless I reach Second Stage Perfection, I can’t guarantee victory over Balazs. This is just a gut feeling. After all, if he can tell that some of us believe in the Holy Mother, he can surely perceive that other team members believe in other Divines. He would also realize that our group has followers of all four Divines. Except for Juanlu and Lucilia, the rest of us could be considered Church Staff. Even seeing just this much would be enough reason for him to try and befriend us.

Thinking to this point, Alka stopped wrestling with these thoughts. It’s just as I initially thought: if he intended to harm us, inviting us to a banquet would be the stupidest move. He could have easily exploited our unfamiliarity with the Endless Sea to set traps or launch ambushes from various places. Balazs seems more inclined to befriend us, offering help while we’re most disoriented, having just arrived in the Endless Sea. Offering help in times of need is always more valuable than adding to what one already has in abundance.

After dispelling these bothersome thoughts, Alka returned to his room and submerged himself in the Dream Realm. He simply cleared the dream creatures near everyone. Then he flew to where Balazs’s crew was located. Although he felt the information from Balazs’s conversation earlier was highly credible, he still decided to verify it himself.
