Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 508 - 252: Kill_3
CHAPTER 508: CHAPTER 252: KILL_3
He casually wiped the fresh blood from his hands.
"Alka sent word; his side is already taken care of," Two said suddenly.
"That’s good. Let’s clean up the battlefield and head back to the ship," Chadite instructed his group.
Hidden in the shadows, the Puppet Girl began to clear the battlefield, simultaneously cleaning the blood off herself and searching the pirates’ bodies for valuables. After the search, they began to wander around the island to avoid the spatial rifts that appeared at night. As for the dangerous beasts lurking in the darkness, they had long been drawn by the scent of blood from the battlefield. A new slaughter was about to begin, unseen.
When Chadite and the others returned to the Sound of Dawn, they discovered it was towing a somewhat dilapidated ship. However, its overall structure seemed to be fairly intact.
On deck, Alka had already returned.
"Was the operation smooth? Is anyone injured?" Alka asked as they boarded.
Chadite waved his hand with a smile. Although he was stained with a considerable amount of blood, it was clearly all from enemies.
"What about you? How strong was that Third Stage fellow? You don’t look injured at all," Jason said, walking over and looking at Alka.
Although they knew the Pirate Captain’s strength, Alka appearing uninjured still surprised them somewhat.
Hearing Jason’s question, Alka turned to him with a smile and said, "I have a Dream Substitute, so what’s so surprising? Besides, while that man was fairly strong, his methods were lacking."
His methods were too crude, especially his offensive ones. Trying to get by with a single trick? It’s not that easy.
Alka had also discovered another excellent use for the Dream Substitute: let it fight first to gather more complete combat information about the enemy.
If he hadn’t used the Dream Substitute to endure many of the enemy’s attacks, he wouldn’t have known about their invisible attacks, which were extremely well-hidden. If he had fought with his physical body, he certainly wouldn’t be as unscathed as he was now.
"Alright, everyone go clean yourselves up," Alka said. "Reeking of blood isn’t good."
Soon, everyone had cleaned the grime off themselves and piled the loot taken from the pirate corpses onto a table.
Alka was most interested in the bracelet he had taken from the Pirate Captain.
This item looked very much like a pocket item; it surely contained some valuables inside. The problem was, he didn’t know how to open such things, as they usually had anti-theft measures.
"Well? Can you open it?" Alka asked, handing the item to Simon.
Simon took the item and examined it carefully for a long time. Finally, he reluctantly extended his index finger and tapped the Treasure. The Treasure on his index finger flashed faintly, and the items within the Ring spilled out.
All sorts of items tumbled out, looking like a pile of garbage. You couldn’t expect a pirate’s belongings to be very clean.
"Whoa, using a skullcap as a bowl? I thought that was just a saying, you know?" Juanlu said with some disgust, picking up a bowl made from a skullcap.
He hadn’t expected pirates to actually do such a thing; it was too revolting.
"Look at this," Jason said, holding up a yellowed Bone Cup.
"A small wine cup fashioned from a femur... My God, I’m going to be sick!" someone exclaimed.
"A shrunken head, preserved and with special functions? And this... is this human skin?" another questioned.
A pile of various incomprehensible, cruel, and disgusting things lay before them. Everyone could only suppress their nausea and sort through the items. They only kept the human skin. This was because the human skin had unknown patterns tattooed on it, resembling a map, though it had been cut, and only half remained.
Of course, there were some valuable gold coins and jewelry among the items. But, truth be told, there was too little of it, and Alka and the others didn’t think much of it. Their attention was entirely captivated by the Human Skin Map.
"This Human Skin Map is only half a piece... It is a map, right?" Alka was still a bit unsure and showed it to Chadite.
Chadite suppressed his nausea, examined it carefully, and nodded. "It is indeed a map, but it’s made using ancient techniques, and it’s only half."
"That’s good. This thing looks like it hides a great Treasure," Alka said, carefully putting away the Human Skin Map. It doesn’t matter what material it’s made of; as long as it’s a map, it’s good.
Julia looked at a small booklet. "Invisible Blade... Wound Transfer," she murmured, reading the names of the two Spells recorded there.
"These two Spells are quite good," Alka commented. "I suggest you all learn ’Wound Transfer.’ You don’t necessarily have to master it, but you should at least learn the basics."
As Alka spoke, he briefly described his previous battle with the Pirate Captain.
Compared to ’Invisible Blade,’ ’Wound Transfer’ was actually the Spell Alka wanted more. It’s incredibly useful in certain critical moments.
Hearing this, everyone looked on with curiosity.
Juanlu also smiled, waved, and left the captain’s cabin, heading towards his kitchen. He needed to prepare a meal for everyone. It was already getting late.
"Speaking of which, we didn’t see Balazs’s ship in town today. He should have arrived by now," Jason said, puzzled.
It had been a long time; the deadline was fast approaching. If he didn’t arrive soon, they would have to wait for the next chance.
