True Solution of the Sword Dao
Chapter 140 - 140 134 Snowy Night 1
Chapter 140: Chapter 134 Snowy Night 1 Chapter 140: Chapter 134 Snowy Night 1 Lin Fei’s calm demeanor was out of place amidst the surrounding atmosphere. It was as if he wasn’t part of this group at all. The transparent juice swayed gently in the glass.
Zhao Kunning’s gaze flickered, and he quickly noticed Lin Fei’s serenity. A hint of annoyance crept into his heart. He disliked anyone’s calmness besides his own; only the panic and tension of the people around him made the best foil for him.
Lin Fei also noticed his gaze. In fact, had it not been for Zhao Kunning’s actions being too close and too abrupt earlier, he would have been capable of intervening. But now, it was different.
Standing beside him, Lin You stepped forward, “Sister Zhao Yuxin, they’ve come for me, let me handle this.” She pulled Zhao Yuxin behind her without further explanation.
She confronted Zhao Kunning head-on. The latter had no choice but to refocus his attention on Lin You.
“How do you intend to handle this?” he asked with interest, watching Lin You.
Woosh!
Lin You suddenly slapped at Zhao Kunning.
Smack!
Zhao Kunning’s hand directy grasped Lin You’s wrist. The smile on his face slowly sank.
“Very good!” A mysterious color rose in his eyes. “You are the first one who dares to slap me like this.”
Behind him, Wei Xiongjiang laughed out loud.
Lin You struggled forcefully, but found her wrist immovable, which alarmed her. Although she was not well-versed in the Combat Technique as a Psychic, her physical fitness had been enhanced due to psychic modifications, to a level where even Feil had once said that only Special Forces Soldiers could surpass her in combat skills. Against a young man who should have been an entitled heir, being so forcefully blocked meant this person possessed combat skills on par with special forces.
“Let me go!” She thought to use her psychic abilities, but then suddenly remembered the words Feil had said earlier and suppressed the impulse.
“Hey, hey, hey, you’re the one who presented yourself to me,” Zhao Kunning said with a strange laugh.
Lin You’s expression darkened, and she cast aside all hesitations. Her right leg lashed out fiercely. At the same time, tiny ice shards condensed on the surface of her skin around the wrist, and with a strong tug, she slipped free.
Zhao Kunning grunted, his hand tightened, and countless tiny wounds appeared on his palm, sliced by the ice shards. He failed to block Lin You’s subsequent kick, which struck him on the waist, causing him to stagger back three steps and crash into a table. His face turned pale, and he struggled to catch his breath.
Lin Fei chuckled, tossed aside the glass, stepped forward two paces, and delivered a direct kick to Wei Xiongjiang. Unexpectedly, Wei Xiongjiang, who thought he could block the kick, felt it land solidly in his abdomen, sending him rolling to the ground and slamming into the pillar next to Zhao Kunning, with a loud thud.
Splash! A bottle of juice poured over both of them.
“Let’s go.” Lin Fei, without glancing at the two, turned and left the bar.
Lin You followed closely behind him. Both of their faces revealed a spontaneous smile.
Zhao Yuxin and the others stood dumbfounded in place. They had no idea how to react. Zhao Kunning and Wei Xiongjiang were arrogant, but their arrogance came not from their own strength, but the power behind them.
Zhao Kunning, with a cold expression, finally managed to catch his breath, his face contorted as he stared in the direction that Lin Fei and Lin You had left.
“We… should go too,” Yang Hao suddenly said.
No one disagreed; only Zhao Yuxin and Song Yetao displayed bitter expressions. They both knew this matter wouldn’t simply pass over so easily.
Sure enough, Zhao Kunning helped Wei Xiongjiang to his feet, without giving a single glance this way.
“Have their information sent to me later. As for this incident, let’s call it even.” Those were Zhao Kunning’s parting words.
With lips tightened, Zhao Yuxin had no idea how to respond.
After a while, a group of people, previously unseen, were ushered in by the security guards. As soon as they saw Zhao Kunning and the injured Wei Xiongjiang leaving, their expressions changed, and they hurriedly charged into the bar. The one at the front, seemingly a relative of Zhao Yuxin, began to scold her the moment they met. However, seeing the swelling on her face, his expression turned to one of distress.
“It’s okay, Dad,” Zhao Yuxin said with a smile.
“It’s all swollen and you still say it’s nothing!” The middle-aged man’s eyes smoldered with repressed anger. But he immediately forced the rage down. His expression turned grim. “Was it Zhao Kunning, that kid?”
Zhao Yuxin nodded slightly.
The man fell silent for a while, then finally let out a long sigh and said no more.

Lin You walked along with a black cat resting on his shoulder, chatting with each other.
“Feil, what were you trying to do just now? If it wasn’t for you, Sister Zhao Yuxin wouldn’t have gotten hit,” Lin You complained.
“I just wanted to see what kind of forces are behind your brother. If I didn’t stir up some trouble, your brother’s covert powers wouldn’t have been forced out,” Feil explained with resignation. “But we still didn’t get to see anything.”
“Then why did you tell me to come up if Sister Zhao Yuxin and the others are still in the bar, especially after they just helped me out like that?” Lin You pressed.
“That shows that your relationship with them is just so-so. It’s a signal to those two that you guys aren’t together, you really want to stay there and cause more trouble for her? It’s better to make a clean break early on, for their sake,” Feil explained.
“Now it all depends on how Lin Fei handles things. I believe his connections here definitely aren’t minor. Understanding these will give us a chance to succeed in our operation.”
Lin You, hearing this, glanced at Lin Fei, who was walking slowly ahead of him.
“But, the two people we provoked seem to have quite the backing…”
“Let’s wait and see. If things really get out of hand, I’ll deal with it,” Feil said nonchalantly.
Lin Fei hesitated with his phone in hand, but eventually dialed a number and sent a text message.
“I really didn’t want to make such a fuss, but it looks like I still have to go there after all,” he said, shaking his head slightly.
Soon, he got a reply.
“This afternoon, Peacock Pavilion awaits you.” The signature: Xu Chang.
*************
Peacock Pavilion
Coastal City’s top restaurant. Legend has it that during the Tang Dynasty, an immortal once summoned a peacock here to perform the Peacock Dance, and afterwards, ascended to the skies with the peacock. Thus, the restaurant got its name. The entire building is decorated in an ancient style, and though it’s called a restaurant, it’s actually more of an elite clubhouse. It is the number one covert gathering spot in Coastal City, known to a select few beyond a certain social circle. The place follows a high-end consumption model and doesn’t concern itself with the lower end of the market. This strategy makes its reputation even more discreet.
Situated on the edge of the river, one can gaze out from the building to see the magnificent view of the river merging with the sea. The entire building has three floors, each offering a different style and atmosphere.
Lin Fei stood at the entrance of the restaurant, holding a longsword, and looked up. On the balcony of the third floor, a young and scholarly man raised his cup to him with a smile. His lips parted slightly. Lin Fei read his silent message: Welcome.
“You’re too kind.” Lin Fei smiled slightly and walked into the restaurant. The security at the side didn’t stop him, probably having been instructed not to. The fact that he was carrying a longsword was a prearranged sign with the host.
Only a few people were in the entire building, a rich ancient atmosphere enveloped the place. Even the few servers were dressed in ancient women’s attire, pleasing to the eye. There was not a modern device in sight, making Lin Fei feel as if he’d stepped back into the Tang Dynasty. The servers’ sleeves fluttered and skirts swirled as if they were truly maids from ancient times.
The restaurant seemed exceptionally quiet. Occasionally one or two people came down the stairs, all of them exuding an extraordinary aura, clearly not ordinary people. Despite Lin Fei’s age and the attention his attire and actions might draw, these people only gave him a cursory glance and then looked away, showing good breeding and self-control.
Lin Fei headed straight up to the third floor.
The entire third floor was open, with only one person standing on the balcony facing the river, dressed in splendid attire. As Lin Fei ascended the stairs, the person slowly turned around. Only now did Lin Fei get a clear view of the man’s face up close.
Not particularly handsome but very approachable, he carried an air of calm self-assurance, as if confident everything was under his control.
“First time meeting, I’m Xu Chang.”
“I didn’t really want to disturb you,” Lin Fei said casually, finding a table and chair to sit down. He glanced out the window at the grey sky. “I’m Yan Fei.”
