Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1: Offending the Powerful
CHAPTER 1: CHAPTER 1: OFFENDING THE POWERFUL
The towering Kingston Group skyscraper clusters stood solemn and majestic under the sunlight.
Justin Kingston’s handsome face was cold and stern as he strode toward the hall’s exit with powerful steps. Nearly 6’3", he radiated an intimidating aura.
Following him respectfully were several black-clad bodyguards and his special assistant Finn Morgan, leaving behind the meticulously planned international finance conference, all to catch one person in a poor village!
They got into the car under the stunned gaze of the company staff.
The limited edition Rolls-Royce sped towards Sunshine Village, the poorest village in the southwest of Riventhal!
Ten minutes ago, a hacker infiltrated Justin Kingston’s personal computer, stealing the most important recent project, the Blue Sky Plan.
The hacker not only revealed his location but also stated that if Justin wanted the Blue Sky Plan back, he had to go personally, or the plan would be sold to competitors.
This matter could not be taken lightly by Justin, and it was the first time in his life he was being led by the nose.
Sitting in the back seat, his sharp eyes glanced at his watch, his expression cold and emotionless as always.
"President, Sunshine Village terrain is flat, surrounded by an extended mountain range forming a small basin. Villagers rely on growing herbs and sunflowers for a living. Data shows it’s a poor village, only slightly improving economically in recent years..."
Special assistant Finn Morgan reported on the village situation, his back already drenched in sweat; the Blue Sky Plan concerned the future destiny of The Kingston Group.
Justin said nothing, leaning back on his chair, his gaze subtly cold.
Five hundred meters into the village, there was a bamboo house courtyard by the roadside.
Under the warm sun, Mia Lane was drying the freshly dug and washed herbs, the faint herbal fragrance pervading the air.
Her temperament was completely different from other women in the village, with a palm-sized face adorned with gem-like eyes, pure and beautiful, almost seeming untouched by worldly dust.
In the fields, beautiful sunflowers bloomed brightly, the blue skies, white clouds, and warm wind, life felt so peacefully fine.
"Mommy!"
A crisp and tender child’s voice reached her ears, Mia Lane turned her gaze upon hearing it, a smile of happiness spreading over her face.
A pair of five or six-year-old twin kids held hands and walked towards her, their two pairs of black jewel-like big eyes as beautiful as an ocean of stars.
"Mommy! Dolly and I are going to Bebe’s house to play for a while!" Gigi’s voice was crisp and bright, his eyes shining.
"Go, go." The woman lovingly stroked the children’s little heads, "Remember to come back by mealtime, first rule of the Lane family: don’t inconvenience others too much!"
"Got it!" Dolly, dressed in a pink dress, smiled adorably, "We’ll be back soon!"
"Good kids, off you go then."
The kids turned around and hopped away hand in hand!
Watching those two running tiny figures in the distance, Mia Lane’s lips curled in a smile both affectionate and satisfied, her greatest pride in life was having given birth to the two children.
After walking far away, Dolly slowed her steps and asked mysteriously, "Brother, do you think Daddy will really come?"
"I hacked his system." Gigi patted his little chest, speaking with exceptional pride, "I stole the most important data from his computer and deliberately left the address for him! I guarantee he’ll come!"
Dolly nodded, choosing to believe her brother, "Then let’s wait for him!"
The siblings hid behind a water jar planted with water lilies, not going to Bebe’s house.
They peeked expectantly from behind the jar at the entrance of the village, hoping for Daddy to appear.
"Brother, isn’t it a big deal to not tell Mommy in advance?" Dolly blinked her big grape-like eyes, "Mommy will be upset if she finds out."
