CHAPTER 29: CHAPTER 29: SHE BECAME HIS REMEDY

"There’s no need to be so angry." Mia Lane’s tone was calm.

Unexpectedly, he gripped her shoulder tightly and suddenly snapped, "Mia, I’m angry because I care about my children! I won’t let anyone use them as my weak spot!"

"..." Facing his gaze, she gasped in pain.

Beside them, Butler Shelby anxiously wanted to mediate but didn’t know how to start.

"I promise you, okay." Mia didn’t want to provoke him, "Let go."

Three seconds later, he released her and turned to walk upstairs.

"Aren’t you going to the office?"

"No."

She watched his back disappear around the stairway corner.

Butler Shelby explained once more to Mia, "Madam, Mr. Kingston values family tremendously and hopes you can understand him."

"I think he’s very biased," Mia slightly smiled, "He doesn’t trust people at all."

In the afternoon, Mia went into the kitchen to prepare dinner herself.

Though she wasn’t sure if Justin Kingston would eat, she still cooked it with her own hands. Butler Shelby was very relieved, truly hoping they could get closer bit by bit.

At six in the evening, Gigi and Dolly arrived outside the study.

The small hands knocked on the door.

"Daddy?" Gently pushing open the slightly ajar door, the kids approached the man at the desk, their delicate little faces astonishingly beautiful.

Seeing the children, Justin Kingston immediately paused his work, his expression softening significantly.

"Daddy, come down for dinner?" Gigi eagerly pulled his hand, "Mommy’s been busy in the kitchen for an hour, making a big table of delicious food. Would you come and try it?"

Dolly, being a bit timid, didn’t dare to act like her brother. She stood not far away, smiling brightly at him.

This daddy looked really handsome, making it hard not to steal a few more glances.

"Okay." Justin stood up and came in front of Dolly, picking up the little girl.

Holding Gigi’s hand with the other, he led the kids downstairs.

In the dining room, Mia Lane, wearing an apron and carrying dishes with Aunt Zhou, came into Justin Kingston’s view. The pure aura around her couldn’t be concealed, no matter her attire.

Butler Shelby felt particularly comforted; one willing to cook, the other willing to come down to eat – this was the most delightful scene.

The intricate crystal chandelier emitted dazzling light, making the entire dining room glisten like a crystal palace.

Aunt Zhou served four bowls of rice, then exited the dining room with the butler.

"Great, I was worried Mr. Kingston wouldn’t come down."

"Let’s hope he doesn’t get nauseous from eating. This way, madam truly becomes his remedy."

Mia brought a ladle for soup and noticed Justin and the children were already seated.

"Try it," her eyes were clear and bright, "See if you can swallow it, if not, I’ll cook noodles for you." The joyful scene was also conducive to the children’s growth. She wasn’t trying to please him.

Yet her attitude somehow improved Justin’s mood considerably.

Amazingly, the dishes suited his palate, and Justin actually ate two bowls of rice without any signs of nausea.

To take each grain into his mouth and swallow it into his stomach was something he hadn’t done in years.

He was deeply moved inside and cherished this wonderful feeling of being able to eat.

"Daddy, that’s great! From now on, we can have eating contests!"

Actually, Mia also felt a strong sense of achievement.

Tonight, just like last night, Gigi and Dolly came into their bedroom, climbed onto the bed, and spread open Daddy’s arm, pushing Mommy into Daddy’s embrace.

"Good night, sweet dreams, remember, a good relationship between Daddy and Mommy is beneficial for the kids’ growth." The children said, "Tomorrow, we’ll go to the new school together! Love you both!"

Perhaps because the dinner atmosphere was so relaxed, Mia couldn’t help but want to laugh, really such mischievous kids, "Good night, darlings."

Justin also spoke up, "Good night."
