CHAPTER 41: CHAPTER 41: AN AGGRESSIVE ARRIVAL

Entering the living room, Mia Lane said to Butler Shelby, "I’m going back to the village today. One of the villagers injured their foot yesterday. If Justin Kingston calls and asks, just say I’m sleeping. I’ll be back before he finishes work."

"Okay." Butler Shelby was grateful to her; he’d naturally help hide such matters.

Just as Mia Lane was going upstairs to grab her bag, Kristina Kingston entered with maid Mary, followed by two bodyguards.

Butler Shelby was very surprised, considering the lady’s poor health prevents her from being exposed to sunlight, she almost never comes here.

"Hello, madam." The butler bowed in greeting.

Mary handed the large black umbrella to the bodyguard behind them, supporting Kristina Kingston’s arm.

She wore a delicate half-mask, wrapped in long clothing and sleeves, donning white lace gloves, as she took steps toward him with an air of authority.

"Where’s Mia Lane?" Kristina Kingston’s tone was icy.

Butler Shelby answered cautiously, "Madam is upstairs, she’ll come down once she gets her things." He then discreetly took out his phone, ready to dial a number.

Kristina Kingston caught his subtle action, "Who are you calling?" she asked in a cold, deep voice.

Butler Shelby almost dropped his phone, "..." he didn’t dare to look up.

Before he could explain, Kristina Kingston coldly said, "Don’t call Justin Kingston!" Her cold eyes swept across the room, "Anyone who dares call Justin Kingston today will be the first I dismiss!"

The servants stood still, not daring to breathe loudly.

Mary helped Kristina Kingston sit on the sofa, and she coldly stared at the corner of the stairs, waiting for Mia Lane to come down.

On the way to the company, Justin Kingston sat in the backseat of a Lamborghini, with the beautiful morning glow streaming in through the window, making him extraordinarily charming and attractive.

Clearly needing to guard against Mia Lane, clearly knowing she’s unfathomable.

Yet, before his subordinates could report her whereabouts for the day, he found his way to the countryside.

Not only did he eat the noodles she made, but he even brought her back to the villa, and slept with her...

Justin Kingston didn’t know what happened to him, his mind was filled with her image, feeling like for the first time in his 38 years, he lost control.

The enormous living room at Emerald Cove was brilliantly lit with lights, its marble floor so shiny it was reflective.

Kristina Kingston and Mia Lane sat across the coffee table, with Butler Shelby and Aunt Zhou standing behind Mia Lane.

Mary and the two bodyguards stood by Kristina Kingston, creating an atmosphere similar to a negotiation.

"I’ve come to see my grandson and granddaughter," Kristina Kingston’s eyes were sharp, "to see what they’ve grown into during the six years they’ve been with you, these two saplings."

"They’ve gone to kindergarten, seeing me is the same,"

Mia Lane’s calm reply revealed a trace of anger in Kristina Kingston’s eyes, even Butler Shelby felt nervous, the living room atmosphere grew even colder...

Kristina Kingston’s gaze darkened, "Everyone leave us."

Mia Lane didn’t speak, nor did she show any sign of fear.

Mary, however, was very uneasy, afraid the lady would suffer because this young mistress was clearly hard to deal with, she witnessed it last time.

Butler Shelby and Aunt Zhou had to comply, despite their concerns, they retreated.

Mary had no choice but to lead the bodyguards to the living room door, keeping her eyes fixed on them, she couldn’t let the lady suffer.

Mia Lane leaned forward, cautiously pouring two cups of tea.

Kristina Kingston stared at her series of actions, her expression not easing much, "Do you know Monica Usher?"

Mia Lane remained silent.

"She’s an orphan, I sponsored her at age 11, from the first moment I saw her, I felt she was a very special girl, there was a resilient entrepreneur’s spirit in her eyes, our Kingston family has sponsored countless students, but she’s unique."

"She is very diligent, daring to fight fate, but never complaining."

"She strives in studying, often staying up until four or five o’clock. Others find learning one specialty exhausting, but she’s studied more than a dozen. In my eyes, she’s particularly outstanding."

"She interned at The Kingston Group and, through her efforts, rose step by step to the position of Vice President and became one of the most trusted people by me and Justin Kingston."

"She is Justin Kingston’s right-hand woman, she and Justin Kingston together form the perfect combination."

Mia Lane had no interest in Monica Usher’s background because she had no interest in her as a person.

"Let me put it a different way, in case you don’t understand, Monica Usher is being groomed by me to be my daughter-in-law," Kristina Kingston said, sipping her tea in a declaratory manner, "That’s why I dared to let her into the core of the group."

After speaking, Kristina Kingston put down her teacup, scrutinizing her, "Are you even listening to me?" realized this girl seemed completely unfazed, not even furrowing her brow.
