Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 61: Meeting Anton Miller Again
CHAPTER 61: CHAPTER 61: MEETING ANTON MILLER AGAIN
So Mia Lane doesn’t consider the whole disguise thing that important anymore. In the past, she kept it under wraps because she wanted to avoid attention and give her child a peaceful life.
But now, just a few days in, she’s already on the headlines with Justin Kingston. Peaceful my foot!
"Hurry up and pack your bags, the driver’s waiting for you," she urged, then sent the kids out the door.
After sending the kids off, Mia Lane also left Emerald Cove; today she needed to go back to Sunshine Village.
On the bustling, lively street, Mia was thinking about getting a gift for Uncle Lee. Just as she was about to enter the mall, her gaze was drawn to two people fighting not far away.
One of them was actually Anton Ford!
Fighting again? Is the wound on his face healed?
"Hey!" She instinctively ran over, recognizing the person fighting with Anton Ford, "Thief?! Somebody come!! Thief, thief!"
With her shouting, the person got scared and quickly ran off!
Anton Ford was about to give chase, "Stop there!"
Mia, quick on her feet, grabbed his arm, "What are you doing?!"
"You knew he was a thief and let him go?!" Anton Miller was furious, but when he realized who she was, he froze, a look of disbelief on his face.
Three minutes later, at a nearby outdoor teahouse—
Mia Lane and Anton Miller sat across from each other at a table. Anton filled a cup with tea for himself and gulped it down, showing little concern for manners.
Putting the cup down and leaning back on his chair, he had a roguish look on his face, with a teasing glint in his eyes, "You don’t look like a village woman." Not keeping up with the news, he had specially Googled it yesterday when he got back.
The more Mia looked at him, the more he seemed to resemble Justin Kingston, but his vibe was completely different from Justin’s.
Could he actually be his illegitimate child?
"How did you know he was a thief?" Anton Miller was somewhat curious.
"Because he stole a chicken in our village and got caught," she baldly stated, "I’ve seen him before."
Chicken thief?
Anton laughed out loud, exaggeratedly, "Turns out he really married a village woman! Hahaha, how desperate must he be about marriage? The grand CEO of Kingston Group."
"Why are you so hostile towards him?" Mia didn’t care about his mockery, treating him as a child.
"Can’t stand him!" he blurted out, his eyes full of disdain, one leg tapping rhythmically.
Mia couldn’t help but say something nice about Justin, "Actually, he really cares about you, or he wouldn’t have gone to the police station yesterday."
"Who’s interested in his concern?" Anton’s wounds hadn’t healed yet, but it didn’t stop him from being defiant.
Mia smiled softly, sipping her tea alone.
The young man’s brows furrowed in displeasure, "What are you laughing at?"
"Laughing is my freedom," Mia said. "Laugh when I’m happy, laugh when something’s funny, any problem with that?"
Anton looked like he couldn’t be bothered with her, glanced at his phone, stood up and left, not even paying the bill.
Mia watched as his figure disappeared into the crowd...
Not far away, a man in a black suit glanced at his watch, then dialed a number on his phone.
Kingston Group.
Justin Kingston’s phone rang just as he entered the meeting room.
He answered, holding the phone to his ear, and whatever the person on the other end reported made his expression visibly darken.
The group of executives didn’t dare to even breathe heavily.
After hanging up, Justin delegated instructions to Finn Morgan, then turned and left, leaving the meeting to be conducted by Finn.
In the hallway, a fashionably dressed Monica Usher encountered Justin striding over. She quickly adjusted her expression, sensing the cold aura emanating from him.
"CEO Kingston..."
Before she could finish, Justin had already moved far away!
That greeting was for nothing!
Monica Usher was ignored by him. She pursed her red lips, took a deep breath, and somewhat dejectedly headed toward the meeting room.
Once inside, she approached Finn and quietly asked, "Where’s he going?"
"No idea."
"Is it because of Mia Lane?" Monica couldn’t help asking.
Finn looked at her, "I really don’t know. Unless CEO Kingston says so himself, I never pry into his matters."
But Monica stubbornly believed it must be because of Mia Lane!
He used to be someone who never showed his emotions, but ever since Mia barged into his world, he’s been full of emotions.
