Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 694: Unable to Hide Her Fear
CHAPTER 694: CHAPTER 694: UNABLE TO HIDE HER FEAR
They came together because of banana milk.
Even though he’d had breakfast, he still craved these. Sitting down at his desk, Finn Morgan twisted open the cap and drank it in one gulp, savoring the taste of happiness.
In the morning, at Enlighten Kindergarten, bright sunshine illuminated the children of the nation.
Each class of kids was led by three teachers, playing games on the playground.
Gigi stood on the green grass, hands behind his back, slightly lifting his delicate little face, bathing in the sunlight, and observing the changes in the clouds in the sky.
"Brother, what are you thinking about?" Dolly came to his side, curiously peeking at him.
Behind them was a group of children around the same intelligence level playing games, games that the siblings never participated in.
"Looking for a breakthrough," Gigi maintained his previous posture, speaking with a hint of concern, "The phone was repaired, but there’s hardly any valuable clues inside. Ariel Chandler is really stupid."
"Should we show it to Uncle Finn Morgan?" Dolly suggested.
"Let’s keep looking first, what if there’s a breakthrough? He’s quite busy too," Gigi said, "Ariel Chandler has a simple mind; she probably didn’t collect evidence against Lydia Ingram."
Dolly didn’t understand these things, "Brother, do you want a lollipop?" She only knew her brother was busy with these matters very late every night.
"Thank you, sister."
"You’re welcome!"
The R-Alan Group buildings soared into the clouds.
"I’m applying to work from home today," Monica Usher walked into the CEO’s office, "I’ll aim to have the draft ready within 24 hours."
Lydia Ingram sat in the office chair, raising her eyes to assess her, "I heard you offered them a 50,000 reward? Also to complete it within 24 hours?"
"Yes." Her voice was cold.
The man lit a cigar, taking a puff and then exhaling circles of smoke, "I’ll cover the cost."
"No need." She coldly refused, "I promised them, so don’t interfere. I just came to inform you; I’m heading home now."
Without waiting for Lydia Ingram to say more, Monica Usher turned and walked out.
Was she in a bad mood today?
Lydia Ingram’s gaze fell on her full hips; she was becoming more and more alluring. The colder she was, the more Lydia wanted her.
Back home, Monica Usher took a hot shower; she indeed wasn’t in a good mood and really disliked this work atmosphere.
She changed into a comfortable, soft camisole nightgown, drank a glass of ’82 Lafite, and opened her computer in the study, also prepared two packs of cigarettes.
Since leaving Justin Kingston, she learned to smoke, and her addiction was substantial.
A few hours later, the study was clouded with smoke, giving the sensation of riding on clouds.
Monica Usher focused on drafting her designs, turning off her phone to block all external noise.
She was filled with determination to defeat Justin Kingston!
Finally, after seven hours, she created a design she was satisfied with, leaning back in her chair, exhaling deeply, looking at the ceiling and feeling beads of sweat on her forehead.
Getting up to grab some water from the living room, she heard the doorbell ring. She paused, surprised by who it could be.
She approached the entrance door with a cup, intending to open it casually, but noticed she was dressed too seductively, so she peeked through the peephole.
What she saw was a shock; Lydia Ingram was standing outside alone, holding a bag.
Behind the door, Monica Usher swept away her fatigue, her brows lightly knitted, her chest slightly tightened, becoming wary.
Why was he here?
"Monica!"
"Monica, are you inside?!" Lydia Ingram pressed the doorbell for a long time without a response, so he raised his hand and knocked on the door, "Monica Usher! Open up!"
The stance scared Monica Usher into taking two steps back; she clutched her chest and steadied her mind, reassuring herself that the door was very strong!
She comforted herself but couldn’t hide her fear.
