Chapter 876: Finn Morgan Is Her Hope
CHAPTER 876: CHAPTER 876: FINN MORGAN IS HER HOPE
In Finn Morgan’s heart, Melissa Merce wasn’t all that bad, it’s just that he didn’t love her, and there was nothing he could do about it.
In Veridia, in a certain hospital ward.
Melissa had almost not slept the entire night. When she saw the dawn breaking, she wasn’t happy at all, as it represented yet another day gone from her life.
Lying in bed, she turned her head to look at the morning glow outside the window, her face filled with sorrow as her thoughts gradually drifted far away...
Last night, Claudia called Finn Morgan, and he agreed to come over.
But whether he would actually show up, Claudia wasn’t entirely sure, so she couldn’t tell her daughter just yet.
What if he couldn’t come because of something? Wouldn’t that be even more disappointing?
Melissa’s mind was full of Finn Morgan’s figure and the regret over that unfinished dream.
"Finn Morgan..." she softly called his name, gazing at the rosy clouds on the horizon, which seemed to hide the outline of her beloved.
Melissa’s eyes brimmed with tears... she was also saddened.
She thought, could it be in this life she would never see Finn Morgan again?
He simply didn’t love her. Yesterday, he drove her home, let her sit in the front passenger seat, and even had breakfast with her. This was already more gracious than expected.
As for the rest, Melissa dared not hope for more.
Finn Morgan, may you be happy... she silently prayed in her heart, offering her blessings.
Melissa’s condition today made Claudia’s heart ache in bursts, and Zachary Merce was also overwhelmed with grief.
The phone rang, and Claudia quickly took it out to see—it was Finn Morgan!
She wasn’t delighted; instead, she was a bit nervous. Was he not coming after all?
Claudia turned and walked out of the ward, just about to answer the call when she saw two familiar figures approaching from a distance.
Finn Morgan and Hailey Hale had arrived!
They didn’t know exactly which ward, so they called to ask.
Seeing Claudia, Finn Morgan hung up the phone and, with Hailey, quickly walked over.
Tears of emotion glistened in Claudia’s eyes. She didn’t mind Hailey Hale’s presence and instead focused on their clasped hands, feeling very envious.
"Aunty."
Finn Morgan and Hailey stopped in their tracks, softly asking, "Is Melissa awake?"
"She didn’t sleep all night..." Claudia’s nose tingled, her voice trembling, unable to hold back her tears.
It was clear her emotions weren’t good.
Just as Finn Morgan was about to step inside, Claudia held onto Hailey Hale’s hand, "Miss Hale, could we have a word alone?"
Finn Morgan turned his eyes, originally wanting to refuse, but Hailey let go of his hand, "Of course."
Finn Morgan stood his ground, his worried gaze falling on Hailey’s face.
Knowing he would be concerned, Hailey shook her head, "It’s fine, you go in first, I’ll talk with Aunty."
"Finn Morgan," Claudia spoke honestly, "It’s alright, I won’t do anything to her. Cindy is already this sick, breaking you two apart won’t extend her life."
Perhaps she was being petty?
Finn Morgan exchanged a glance with Hailey for a few seconds before he finally stepped into the ward.
Seeing him, Zachary Merce’s eyes lit up with a gleam, "Finn Morgan is here?!"
Melissa’s body stiffened, as if for a moment her ears were ringing.
She was gazing at the morning glow in the sky when she slowly turned her eyes... and saw a long-awaited figure.
"Hello, Uncle," Finn Morgan greeted politely.
Zachary Merce couldn’t hide the joy in his heart, "Thank you for your trouble." He looked at him, then at his daughter, and then stepped out of the ward.
Melissa lay on the bed, her eyes fixed on Finn Morgan.
The glow from outside the window enveloped him, making his handsome face look even more striking.
His tall, lean figure, clean and neat, seemingly never tiresome to look at.
After Zachary Merce left, Finn Morgan met Melissa’s gaze and walked to the bedside.
