Chapter 878: You Two Should Get Married
CHAPTER 878: CHAPTER 878: YOU TWO SHOULD GET MARRIED
"Miss Hale, I’m begging you!"
"I promise you!" Hailey Hale helped her up, "I will talk to Finn Morgan about this, but if he doesn’t agree, there isn’t much I can do. I will try my best to persuade him."
"Alright..." Claudia wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes, full of gratitude towards her.
After a while, Finn Morgan came out, and both Claudia and Hailey Hale, heading towards the ward, spotted him immediately.
Claudia glanced sideways at Hailey, then quickened her pace. However, when she got near Finn Morgan, she hesitated for a moment before heading straight to the ward.
Finn Morgan kept his eyes on Hailey and began to walk toward her.
"How is she?" Hailey Hale asked softly, not having gone in to see her yet.
"She coughed up blood again just now." Finn Morgan, walking with her through the corridor, headed towards the balcony, "Her condition is really bad, and she’s very scared."
Hailey imagined the feeling of being close to death just last night.
"Of course she’d be scared... if it were me, I’d probably lose my composure too," Hailey clasped her hands together, looking down with a sigh, "If she didn’t know, at least she wouldn’t be wrapped in such fear."
"Yes, she’s so young," Finn Morgan sighed, "She must have many unfulfilled desires."
Hailey turned her eyes, "Her biggest wish is to marry you."
On the balcony, Finn Morgan also stopped, turning to meet her gaze, "..."
"So, can you marry her?" Hailey wasn’t sad at all, "Just go through the motions, let her wear a wedding dress in her lifetime? To marry the man she loves, she wouldn’t have lived in vain."
"Hailey Hale, are you crazy?"
The topic was brought up again, and Finn Morgan was a bit annoyed.
Not far behind them, Melissa, pale and wearing her blue and white striped hospital gown, stood frozen, having heard their conversation clearly.
Finn Morgan’s attitude startled Hailey. She bravely met his eyes, "Why are you being so harsh?"
"Do you love me or not?" Finn Morgan remained annoyed, "Pushing me to marry someone else, are you out of your mind? I’ve already promised to stay with her and do what I can, but I’m not a god!"
"..." Hailey looked at his angry expression, trying to see things from his perspective.
The silence calmed Finn Morgan a lot, "I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have yelled at you." He reached out to cup her small face, tenderly caressing it.
"Do you know what it feels like to leave this world with regrets?" Hailey couldn’t hide her sadness, "We often say doing good deeds, helping a dying person fulfill their wish, isn’t that a good deed?"
Finn Morgan felt heavy-hearted, he hadn’t thought deeply about this matter, so he had no answer.
"Hailey."
A pale, weak voice drifted into their ears.
Hailey Hale and Finn Morgan looked up to see Melissa standing blankly at the corner. Both were stunned, then fell into awkward silence.
"Melissa, why are you out here?" Hailey instinctively cared, "You should be resting in bed."
Melissa looked at her, then slowly fixed her gaze on Finn Morgan, "I came out to find him, the man I think about day and night..."
Finn Morgan withdrew his gaze, holding Hailey Hale’s hand, expressing his stance through his actions.
Melissa noticed this detail; a faint smile formed on her lips, her gaze rested on his face again, "Finn Morgan, do you know? My biggest wish in this life is to wear a wedding dress for you."
"Melissa..."
"Don’t interrupt, let me finish." Melissa coughed a few times softly, then continued —
"To see you get married, to see you walk the red carpet with the girl you love."
"To see you exchange vows before God, to see you exchange rings..."
"That, for me, would also be a blessing to witness."
Melissa’s lips, like leaves trembling in the autumn wind, said, "I can’t bring you happiness, even if you love me, my time is up... So, before I leave, I want to attend your wedding with Hailey. You two should get married."
