Chapter 9: Walking Right Into the Trap
CHAPTER 9: CHAPTER 9: WALKING RIGHT INTO THE TRAP
The night had already fallen, and cold winds were rising; tonight was destined to be extraordinary.
She quietly slipped into the backyard, scaling the wall with skills she’d learned! Ever since Justin Kingston inexplicably slept with her, she’d made a point to learn some martial arts.
The moment her feet touched the ground, a bolt of lightning split the sky above her! Blinding, terrifying!
Rumble——
The rolling thunder startled her so much that she fell to the ground, her heart trembling with fear.
It was like a scene straight out of a horror movie.
A strange wind rustled the leaves noisily! It messed up her hair and flipped her skirt!
Mia Lane hugged her arms, feeling the cold!
She saw the villa brightly lit, just stood up, and was drenched by a downpour! She hadn’t walked two steps before she was soaked like a drowned rat!
"Who?!" A sharp-eyed guard pointed in this direction and quickly rushed over!
At the same time, someone rushed into the living room——
"Mr. Kingston, someone has climbed over the wall into the yard!"
In the tastefully and luxuriously decorated living room, the expensive crystal chandelier radiated dazzling light.
This light illuminated the man sitting on the sofa, making his perfectly sculpted face appear even more three-dimensional.
Justin Kingston gently brushed his watch, looking up at Butler Shelby, his thin lips slightly parted, "You take the children upstairs first."
The children and Butler Shelby were as puzzled as he was, but they obediently followed Daddy’s words and went upstairs with Butler Shelby.
Before long, Mia Lane was forcibly brought into the living room by two bodyguards.
Justin Kingston sat determinedly on the sofa, his gaze at the woman lazy with a hint of coldness.
He raised his hand slightly, the bodyguards released her and left.
Mia Lane stood in the bright light, feeling uncomfortable under his appraising gaze.
This woman was a mess from the rain, her black, soft hair plastered against her cheeks like glue, her clothes dripping wet.
The wet clothes clung to her body, perfectly outlining her feminine curves.
Justin Kingston stood up, hands in his pockets, and walked towards her.
Mia Lane was forced to meet his gaze, filled only with hatred! Determined to take the children away tonight!
For her, anyone trying to take the children from her was an enemy!
As the man’s steps approached, the air in the living room froze; she clutched her fists at her sides, panic-stricken.
Justin Kingston’s innate aura made her inexplicably nervous.
He saw all her mess, restraint, anger... taking it all in.
The faint fragrance emanating from the woman permeated the air, momentarily distracting him.
"Madam Zhou." His voice softened a little, "Bring Miss Lane some dry clothes."
"Yes."
Something flashed in the woman’s eyes as she stared at him, "No need, I’m here to take the children away!"
"Get dressed properly first," Justin Kingston’s voice was low and cold, his gaze turning to the door, dignified and cool as a statue.
Mia Lane’s heart roared!
"Miss Lane," Madam Zhou quickly arrived, speaking gently, "the clothes are ready, please come with me to take a hot shower so you won’t catch a cold."
Mia Lane was already soaked to the skin, very cold.
She gazed firmly at the man who had turned his eyes to the window, then followed Madam Zhou, stepping into the bathroom.
Justin Kingston went upstairs into the study, stopped by the window, and stared at the terrifying lightning on the horizon, unbiddenly reminded of his father.
Justin Kingston’s brow furrowed slightly; he didn’t believe in love nor marriage, hence no scandals.
But that didn’t mean he didn’t want children.
When he received the paternity test results, his heart was filled with immense joy.
Monica Usher was returning to Riventhal, and his mother was still fixated on that marriage proposal...
And this woman named Mia Lane had entered his world at just the right moment, and he didn’t dislike her.
Thus, a plan quietly began to form in Justin Kingston’s mind.
