CHAPTER 903: CHAPTER 903: THE FINAL INSTRUCTIONS

The atmosphere at dinner seemed harmonious, but there was a hint of sadness beneath it.

After dinner, without even a five-minute rest, Hailey Hale pulled Finn Morgan and said, "Dad, Mom, we’re heading out. We have to go see Melissa."

"Finn." Dennis Hale’s gaze landed on the clean-cut young man, "Follow me upstairs to the study for a moment."

Hailey was slightly taken aback, glancing at her father and then at the man beside her.

Dennis Hale smiled warmly, his expression benevolent, "It won’t take long." With that, he turned and walked upstairs.

In Hailey’s eyes, her father was very democratic.

She let go of Finn’s hand, smoothed his sleeve, and softly encouraged him, "Go on, I’ll wait for you!"

Finn nodded and started heading towards the stairs.

The study on the villa’s second floor was lit with a warm yellow glow, and rows of bookshelves were neatly arranged with various books.

An office desk was placed in front of the window, piled with all sorts of documents and materials.

As a mayor, he was a man dealing with myriad tasks every day.

Dennis Hale stood by the window, and Finn came up behind him, saying warmly, "Uncle, you must have something to tell me, please go ahead."

The middle-aged man’s profound gaze turned to the window outside, he gathered his emotions, then turned and said, "Finn, I’m entrusting my daughter to you. No matter what happens in the future, please treat her well, okay?"

"Of course." Finn, thinking it was just another matter, replied with a smile and a relaxed tone, "Uncle, even though we’re married, we’ll definitely visit often. The new house is in Riventhal, not far from here."

He assumed Dennis Hale was just having a hard time letting go of his daughter getting married.

"I trust my judgment." Dennis looked at him meaningfully, "I believe in you. No matter what, you should believe in your judgment too. You married Hailey, and she’s a great girl."

These words were a bit puzzling, Finn listened and agreed, "Yes, I understand."

"Even though she’s carefree, she’s inherently kind." Dennis told him, "She’s my only daughter, raised in the palm of my hand, never let her suffer any grievance, and her life has been smooth."

Why say these things?

Finn understood the sentiment of an old father’s heart, and he promised, "Please don’t worry, Uncle. I will be Hailey’s protector, caring for her all my life, cherishing her as you have."

"No matter what happens." Dennis added.

The father-in-law and son-in-law met eyes, and Finn nodded, "Yes, no matter what happens, even if the sky falls, I’ll hold it up!"

With his promise, Dennis finally felt at ease.

He glanced out the window; night was beginning to fall. He sighed softly and said warmly, "I won’t hold you up any longer. Go on, I’ll deal with some work."

"Goodbye, Uncle." Finn respectfully bowed, then turned to leave.

Dennis watched his departing figure, his mood suddenly becoming heavier. If he didn’t say these words tonight, there might not be another chance.

As a father, he only hoped Hailey could be happy.

After going downstairs, Finn bid farewell to Hailey’s mother, thanking her for preparing the lavish dinner.

Driving her away, Finn didn’t dwell on Dennis Hale’s intentions.

Regarding him being Lydia Ingram’s protector, Justin Kingston hadn’t told him, perhaps intentionally keeping it a secret.
