Seeing Eleanor Sterling’s resigned expression, Alaric Faulkner smiled and said, "I thought since I helped you, you’d invite me for a meal to thank me."

Estelle Sterling immediately came forward, unceremoniously pulled the chair out, and sat down, "Uncle Faulkner, if it weren’t for your black card, Sister Eleanor and I would have been utterly embarrassed."

Alaric Faulkner laughed quietly, "Leon Langley is right next door; shall I invite him over for a chat?"

He had people keeping an eye on the situation with Eleanor Sterling and was well aware of her being stood up by the suppliers.

Eleanor Sterling raised her eyebrows, what does that mean?

Is he going to negotiate cooperation on her behalf?

It seemed Alaric Faulkner was worried Eleanor Sterling didn’t understand, so he explained, "Just when I arrived, I happened to run into him and his wife at the entrance, they even came to greet me."

Though he bumped into Alaric Faulkner at the entrance, Leon Langley didn’t think Alaric Faulkner would actively invite him to dine together in the private room.

With someone as prominent as Alaric Faulkner, it was usually only him trying to curry favor; how could he possibly take the initiative to invite him?

Sylvia Dempsey frowned and asked, "Who are the people next door? Such arrogance, asking us to go over."

The waitress spoke, "Well, it’s a lady and..."

Before she could finish, Sylvia Dempsey interrupted, displeased, "It’s a woman? Refuse them, tell them we’re busy!"

Usually, there are countless people trying to cozy up to Leon Langley, it must be another one trying to latch onto him.

How dare someone try flirting with her husband right in front of her, as if she were invisible?

Leon Langley squinted his eyes and stood up, "I’ll go take a look."

Sylvia Dempsey panicked, she quickly grabbed him, "Honey, why did you agree to go see her? There must be some shady woman next door, you shouldn’t go."

Leon Langley turned his eyes, saying, "Why so tense? I’m just going to check. It might be someone I know. You wait here for me, I’ll be right back!"

After saying this, Leon Langley walked straight out the door.
