CHAPTER 169: CHAPTER 169: GRAND CONFRONTATION OF ACCUSATIONS
Eleanor Sterling had just finished her tasks and returned home, only to find several missed calls from George Sterling on her phone.
She was about to call back when the phone rang again, and it was George Sterling calling.
As soon as she swiped to answer, George Sterling’s harsh scolding came through, "Eleanor Sterling, do you have no shame? Why didn’t you answer my calls?"
Eleanor’s eyes remained indifferent, and she retorted sarcastically, "Oh, not answering your calls means I’m shameless?"
"Don’t talk back to me. Get yourself back to the Sterling Family mansion immediately. Your grandfather has something to say to you!"
Eleanor’s eyes flickered, unsure of what they wanted from her.
She replied, "Alright, I’ll go back right away."
Eleanor looked towards Estelle Sterling, "Stay here and behave. I’m heading back to the Sterling Family."
Estelle nodded obediently, "Go without worry."
After giving her instructions, Eleanor left the house.
In the brightly lit living room of the Sterling Family mansion, the atmosphere was tense.
Mrs. Faulkner sat sternly there, while Chelsea Sterling sat beside Martin Sterling, looking rather gloating.
Having just been embarrassed by Eleanor a few days ago, she still held a grudge. Now seeing Eleanor make a fool of herself was an absolute delight.
Faye Sterling was nestled close to Rosalie Ray, a cold smile playing on her lips.
In the main seat, Old Master Sterling had a furrowed brow and looked displeased.
Mrs. Faulkner had personally come to reprimand Eleanor and demanded that he properly discipline his granddaughter, causing the Sterling Family to lose face entirely.
When Eleanor arrived, she walked into such an accusatory gathering.
She walked in unhurriedly, then sat on the sofa, "Grandfather, did you need me for something?"
Old Master Sterling’s face darkened as he questioned, "Eleanor, Faye says you tried to seduce Alaric Faulkner, what’s going on here?"
Faye immediately began to sob quietly, pitifully saying, "Eleanor Sterling, don’t try to deny it.
Today, a good friend of mine called and told me she saw you having dinner with Alaric."
Chelsea quickly chimed in, "Faye’s talking about the day I ran into Eleanor in the mall, right? I can vouch for it! President Faulkner even gave her a VIP black card."
She looked at Eleanor disdainfully, "That VIP black card is so prestigious, even Faye, who is supposed to be the Faulkner family’s future daughter-in-law, doesn’t have one. Why would he give it to Eleanor?"
The implication, both inside and outside the words, was that there was something unsavory between Eleanor and Alaric.
Faye’s eyes turned dark and sinister.
At that moment, Mrs. Faulkner timely interjected, scoffing coldly, "If it weren’t for Faye having Alaric’s child, I wouldn’t have reluctantly accepted her.
What’s wrong with your Sterling Family? Do both sisters want to intrude into the Faulkner Family? Do you really think the Faulkner Family would accept just any woman?"
Her words were extremely harsh.
She looked down on the Sterling Family’s status.
The Sterling Family might be well-off in Veridia City, but the Faulkner Family was different. The Faulkner Family is the top family, famous in Aethelgard.
Veridia City was merely a place they invested in; the Faulkner Family was highly influential there, making the Sterling Family seem insignificant by comparison.
To be with Alaric Faulkner was quite the leap for Faye!
Instantly, Old Master Sterling’s expression changed, appearing quite angry, yet unable to vent his frustration.
Mrs. Faulkner was speaking the truth; the Sterling Family wasn’t much.
George Sterling glared at Eleanor resentfully, his eyes filled with disdain and harshness, as if she were an embarrassing disgrace.
Nonetheless, Rosalie Ray stepped forward, soothing the atmosphere with her gentle voice.
"Mrs. Faulkner, Eleanor attempting to seduce Alaric was a failure in our discipline.
We will certainly restrain her properly, making sure she doesn’t interfere with Faye and Alaric’s relationship, you can rest assured."
Her words made it sound as if Eleanor’s seduction of Alaric was already a confirmed fact.
Mrs. Faulkner, hearing this, snorted coldly before standing up to leave.
