CHAPTER 30: CHAPTER 30: SENDING CALEB FAULKNER AWAY

Eleanor Sterling came home, changed out of her gown, and slipped into some casual home clothes before sprawling on the couch.

Estelle Sterling chuckled beside her and asked, "Sister Eleanor, was the banquet fun?"

Thinking about how Faye Sterling managed to escape in the end, Eleanor felt a bit annoyed.

She glanced sideways at Caleb Faulkner, sat up, threw the phone at him, and said coldly, "Call someone from the Faulkner Family to pick you up. I can’t afford to host a deity like you."

Upon hearing Eleanor wanted to kick him out, Caleb looked at her pitifully, his eyes welling up with tears, trying hard to hold them back.

Noticing Eleanor was in a bad mood.

Estelle sighed, it seemed someone had upset her, to the point she wanted to send Caleb away.

"Sister Eleanor, Little Caleb is usually very pitiful. That woman often doesn’t feed him and even throws him into the pond in the middle of winter..."

He listed many of Faye Sterling’s misdeeds, making Caleb indeed sound quite pitiable.

Eleanor narrowed her eyes, "Sounds like something despicable Faye Sterling would do."

But Caleb is the sole heir of the Faulkner Family.

This precious money tree, shouldn’t Faye be protecting him carefully? Isn’t she afraid of slipping up?

"So Sister Eleanor, wouldn’t you consider letting Little Caleb stay?"

Eleanor sneered, "No way."

She didn’t want to have any more dealings with the Faulkner name. Her plan today was thwarted by Alaric Faulkner, and now in her anger, she found Caleb quite annoying.

Getting someone from the Faulkner Family to pick him up was already her greatest mercy, dreaming of staying with her? Not a chance.

Caleb originally thought Eleanor might soften and keep him, but even after saying so much, she still wanted him gone.

His tears fell silently.

A pang touched Eleanor’s heart, and she turned her face away, not wanting to look at him.

Damn, he’s Faye Sterling’s son.

Why be soft-hearted?

Thinking of her own daughter who died young, Eleanor’s heart grew cold, and she tossed the phone to Caleb, "Make the call."

Caleb picked up the phone, and as he was pressing the numbers, the doorbell rang.

The three turned their heads to look.

Estelle’s eyes twinkled, "I’ll get the door!"

He jumped off the couch and ran over to open the door.

Outside, Alaric Faulkner stood expressionless, and Estelle was taken aback, "Fu... Hades Faulkner?"

Seeing Alaric frowning, he quickly corrected himself, "No... Sorry, I meant President Faulkner, please come in."

Alaric stepped into the apartment.

Eleanor had already heard the noise but didn’t expect Estelle to let him in just like that. Her face turned dark.

"Is President Faulkner here to pick up his son? That’s perfect, take him away. Our humble home is too simple, and Young Master Faulkner is aggrieved staying here."

Seeing Eleanor’s resistant attitude, Alaric squinted slightly, a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes.

He wasn’t here to pick up Caleb. When Elijah Hayes asked where he was heading, his instinctive thought was here.

Alaric sneered, "Did you set up Faye Sterling?"

Though phrased as a question, his expression seemed to have already confirmed it.

Mockery flickered in Eleanor’s eyes.

"So, President Faulkner is planning to avenge Faye?"

She didn’t feel guilty at all, openly admitting it, her whole demeanor exuding defiance.

Facing Eleanor’s rebellious stance, Alaric showed little expression.

His gaze deepened, and he asked calmly, "What if I am?"

Eleanor sneered, meeting Alaric’s eyes, "I’m afraid President Faulkner will be disappointed. I’ve never feared anything."
