CHAPTER 49: CHAPTER 49: VISITING AS GUESTS

As Rosalie Ray and Faye Sterling entered the living room, George Sterling was already hosting Alaric Faulkner.

Alaric Faulkner sat expressionless, beside him a man with a slightly roguish look.

This was Seth Sullivan, the young master of The Sullivan Family, and Alaric Faulkner’s close friend.

The Sullivan Family in Veridia City was also a top-tier family, though not as eminent as the Faulkner Family, they were still a revered household.

Seth Sullivan’s dark eyes carried a half-smiling gaze, watching Alaric Faulkner.

He wondered why this flamboyant man called him to The Sterling Family? Was it to see the woman who was framed seven years ago?

He had seen her before.

Honestly, she wasn’t his type at all.

He couldn’t understand why Alaric Faulkner fancied her, even bringing her into the Faulkner Family.

But seeing Alaric Faulkner not marry her back for seven years, he realized it was just him taking responsibility for leaving his heir.

George Sterling looked at Seth Sullivan and Alaric Faulkner and politely asked, "Alaric, is there any particular reason you’ve come with Mr. Sullivan today?"

Alaric Faulkner’s eyes were deep and inscrutable.

If he opened the locator Eleanor Sterling gave him, discovered she was at The Sterling Family, and worried something might happen to her, was this reason enough?

Alaric Faulkner naturally wouldn’t say this.

He replied coldly, "Just visiting with Mr. Sullivan, thought I’d introduce him."

George Sterling paused for a moment, then smiled happily, saying repeatedly, "Good, good, with Mr. Sullivan visiting, I will certainly entertain him well."

Seth Sullivan squinted slightly, being introduced to George Sterling? Did Alaric Faulkner get kicked by a donkey?

Though he sensed Alaric Faulkner had ulterior motives, Seth Sullivan didn’t expose him, maintaining a courteous and distant smile.

"Hello, Mr. Sterling."

"Mr. Sullivan, I am Alaric’s father-in-law, feel free to speak openly; maybe we’ll have opportunities to collaborate."

In the midst of polite chatter, Faye Sterling and Rosalie Ray arrived.

Faye Sterling sat next to Alaric, looked at him, and sweetly said, "Alaric, are you here to see me?"

Alaric Faulkner’s eyes were cold as a deep pool, he glanced at her indifferently without speaking.

Faye Sterling assumed Alaric Faulkner was there for her, grinning delightfully.

She knew Alaric Faulkner wouldn’t be angry with her.

But don’t think she would let Eleanor Sterling off because of this, she would push any obstacles aside.

George Sterling said, "Faye, go make tea for Mr. Sullivan and Alaric."

"Sure, I’ll go right away." Faye Sterling happily walked away.

Alaric Faulkner discreetly took out his phone, checking the locator, which showed Eleanor Sterling was still here, but he couldn’t see her.

Was she locked away?

His eyes flashed as he stood up, "I need to use the restroom."

Following the locator, Alaric Faulkner arrived at the basement.

The door was tightly locked, Alaric Faulkner quickly unlocked it and walked inside, immediately spotting Eleanor Sterling lying there.

Alaric Faulkner’s expression changed slightly, she was indeed here.

Eleanor Sterling initially thought Rosalie Ray and Faye Sterling would act against her as soon as she was drugged, but she waited a long time without them showing up.

She didn’t expect Alaric Faulkner to come instead.

She looked at Alaric Faulkner in surprise, puzzled, "Why is it you?"

"Are you alright?" Alaric Faulkner’s voice was deep, inexplicably reassuring to Eleanor Sterling.

Eleanor Sterling’s eyes were still wet, showing some helplessness and despair, clearly having suffered considerable psychological torment before he arrived.

It dawned on her quickly that Alaric was there, which was why Faye left her.

Alaric Faulkner stepped forward, dominantly and assertively picking her up horizontally, heading out.

Eleanor Sterling’s heart raced anxiously, she quickly said, "Wait."

She glanced back at Aunt Jade, then sighed, "Let’s go."

Rosalie still needed to use Aunt Jade to threaten her; they wouldn’t harm her. When she was ready, she would come back for Aunt Jade.

Right now, Eleanor Sterling really had no strength left; she could only let Alaric Faulkner take her out and rely on him.

Leaning in Alaric Faulkner’s arms, surprisingly made Eleanor Sterling incredibly secure.
