CHAPTER 67: CHAPTER 67: ELEANOR STERLING LIED TO HER

Faye Sterling started to cry uncontrollably.

"Alaric, I’ve been by your side for seven years. You’ve never looked at me, yet you’re entangled with my sister. I’ve lost all my face in Veridia City."

Alaric Faulkner didn’t want to hear about this. He pressed on, "Did you just say Eleanor Sterling and I went for a candlelit dinner?"

Remembering Eleanor’s boastful tone yesterday, Faye said bitterly, "That’s right, you said you were going to dine with someone important, but I didn’t expect that person to be Eleanor."

She didn’t understand; Alaric had only seen Eleanor a few times, yet he was smitten by her.

Alaric furrowed his brow and asked, "Who told you this?"

Seeing Alaric’s inquiry, a flicker of hope rose in Faye’s heart.

Could Eleanor have lied to her? Did Alaric not actually go to dinner with her?

That little wench, if she found out Eleanor was lying, she’d make her pay.

Faye quickly said, "Yesterday, Eleanor told me directly that you took Caleb Faulkner and her to Summit Villa for a candlelit dinner."

On hearing this, Alaric was silent for a moment.

Then his thin lips curved into a meaningful smile.

"Alaric, did Eleanor deceive me? You didn’t actually go out with her, did you? I knew she must have been lying to me."

Faye looked at Alaric with eager anticipation, hoping to hear him deny it.

Alaric looked at Faye coldly and said indifferently, "That’s correct, I did go out with her for dinner yesterday."

Faye’s smile froze on her face, devastated. She felt like she was going to collapse.

It was true.

Alaric really went out for a candlelit dinner with Eleanor!

Eleanor hadn’t lied to her. How could this be happening?

Alaric stood up, walked to the window, and spoke in a deep voice, "I heard Shane Faulkner is your ex-boyfriend? Since you two are fond of each other, I can generously let you be together.

Caleb is still a child of the Faulkner Family, and I’ll make sure you have enough money for a worry-free future."

These words pushed Faye further into despair.

Alaric was considering handing her off to someone else, wanting to clear ties with her.

She would never yield her place to Eleanor, unless she was dead!

Faye cried pitifully, "Alaric, about the grandfather’s birthday banquet, I was wronged. Haven’t you already investigated thoroughly?

I’ve nothing to do with Shane Faulkner. Alaric, you have to trust me."

She choked out intermittently, "I am Caleb Faulkner’s mother, no matter what, our blood ties can’t be changed."

Alaric’s eyes darkened, "In that case, stop annoying me. Get out."

Faye shuddered, terrified of being kicked out of the Faulkner Family by Alaric, she hurried and stumbled out.

After Faye left, the study returned to silence.

Alaric lounged lazily in the chair, a deep, sharp light fleeting across his dark eyes.

Eleanor had indeed told Faye that he invited her to a candlelit dinner, his lips curved slightly.

Lying was a bad trait; how could he let this woman become a liar.

Alaric pulled out his computer and messaged Estelle Sterling, "Find a way to make your mom agree to go out to dinner with me."

Very soon, Estelle’s message came back.

Estelle: "Difficulty level, three stars, costs two thousand bucks."

Watching Estelle who was so focused on money, Alaric shook his head helplessly.

Forget it, once a son of his.

They’re family after all, giving it away doesn’t count as a loss.

He directly transferred the money to Estelle.

A minute later, he received Estelle’s reply, seemingly in high spirits, along with a smiley face emoji.

Estelle: "Got it. Will meet the request within three days. By the way, since you’re so generous, I’ll give you an extra top-secret message."
