Chapter 672: It’s Time to Clean Up the Faulkner Family
CHAPTER 672: CHAPTER 672: IT’S TIME TO CLEAN UP THE FAULKNER FAMILY
Walter Faulkner looked pale, while Zachary Faulkner had left dejectedly earlier, but he wasn’t doing much better. Who asked him not to have a strong wife?
Old Master Faulkner looked at Jonathan Jennings and asked quizzically, "Mr. Jennings, your family has always disdained dealing with us merchants who have a stench of copper. Are you sure you want to cooperate with Alaric now?"
"Yes!"
Old Master Faulkner was somewhat moved by this.
He hadn’t expected that the Eleanor Sterling he once looked down upon would end up being connected to the Jennings and Hawthorne Families, bringing such great benefits to Alaric Faulkner.
It seemed he would have to rethink Eleanor Sterling in the future.
Jonathan Jennings abruptly said coldly, "But I have a condition!"
Old Master Faulkner squinted his eyes; he knew it wouldn’t be that simple.
"What condition?"
Jonathan Jennings looked at Yvonne Langley and said discontentedly, "Your Faulkner Family doesn’t know manners. She just slandered my great-grandchild, and now I want her to apologize publicly!"
He wanted everyone to know that Eleanor Sterling and the two children were not without protection nor were they to be bullied casually!
The Jennings Family’s treasures were not to be trampled by the Faulkner Family or anyone else.
Yvonne Langley didn’t expect an offhand comment from her would provoke Jonathan Jennings into such a fury; she was instantly scared into silence.
"I... I can apologize, okay!" To prevent trouble for Walter Faulkner, she immediately spoke up.
"Apologize? Do you think a verbal apology is enough?"
Yvonne Langley’s expression stiffened, "Then... then what do you want? I said it alone, it has nothing to do with Walter."
She decided to take the blame herself.
Jonathan Jennings said, "Since you’re taking full responsibility, then you need to satisfy me."
"I’ll apologize to Miss Sterling!"
Yvonne Langley walked up to Eleanor Sterling, "Miss Sterling, I was being chatty earlier. I spoke without investigating things clearly; don’t hold it against me."
Eleanor Sterling looked at her lightly, then spoke, "Second Aunt, you should be apologizing to Caleb."
Yvonne Langley paused, then turned to look at Caleb Faulkner.
"Caleb, I was just joking earlier; don’t be angry. How about I get you a toy as compensation later?"
Caleb Faulkner looked disdainful and snorted, "Who wants a toy, childish! Do you think I’m Julian Faulkner?"
He had a mature air, speaking with arrogance, belittling Yvonne Langley’s grandson Julian Faulkner with his words.
Yvonne Langley’s face stiffened, but she could only endure it to avoid trouble for Walter Faulkner.
Walter Faulkner clenched his fist, resentful... but what could he do? He was completely outmatched by Alaric Faulkner.
The atmosphere was a bit awkward.
Old Master Faulkner stepped forward, trying to smooth things over, "This situation got a bit rowdy, sorry for showing everyone a joke."
"The Faulkner Family indeed needs to be straightened out!" Jonathan Jennings said in a deep voice.
Caleb Faulkner held onto Jonathan Jennings, smiling, "Great-grandpa, you’re amazing."
Jonathan Jennings’ stern face instantly softened, looking at Caleb Faulkner with amiable eyes, saying warmly, "Of course, your great-grandpa is a remarkable man.
If anyone causes trouble for you and Eleanor in the future, just tell me, and I’ll back you up!"
Caleb Faulkner chuckled, "Okay."
Through this little incident, Eleanor Sterling’s image in the eyes of all the guests changed instantly.
Alaric Faulkner came up to her and wrapped his arm around her waist, murmuring, "Looks like I’ll have to rely on Eleanor in the future."
With that, he gave Eleanor Sterling a light peck on her face.
Eleanor Sterling’s face immediately flushed, and she whispered reprimandingly, "In front of everyone, aren’t you embarrassed!"
"Kissing my own wife, what’s embarrassing about that?"
"..."
She was completely out of words.
