CHAPTER 743: CHAPTER 743: YOU CANNOT LEAVE HERE

A luxurious, low-key car slowly stops. The rear door opens, a long leg steps out first, and Alaric Faulkner’s cold face appears.

Inside, Elder Sawyer, Brian Zane, and a few others are discussing the progress of their research.

Alaric Faulkner pushes open the door and walks in. He sits down in an empty spot and asks, "How’s the progress?"

"There’s a bit of a clue, but still, it takes some time."

Alaric Faulkner’s tightly furrowed brows gradually relax; a clue is better than having no direction, which counts as good news.

His eyes darken, and he speaks, "I have to go to The Keating Family in K country tomorrow. I hope after the wedding, you can make greater progress."

The few people exchange serious looks and nod simultaneously.

After sitting for a while longer, Alaric Faulkner finally stands up and leaves.

In the villa, Eleanor Sterling is lying on the sofa as usual.

Aunt Chen has gone out, probably to buy groceries. Eleanor walks in the garden to unwind and sees several burly bodyguards at the entrance.

Thinking she hadn’t taken a walk outside for long, Eleanor decides to go for a stroll nearby.

Just as she plans to step out, a bodyguard stretches out his hand to stop her.

"Madam, you can’t leave here."

Upon hearing this, Eleanor’s eyes instantly turn cold.

Can’t leave here? What does that mean? Is she being confined?

"Who says I can’t go out?"

The bodyguard faces Eleanor with some panic; he stammers, "President Faulkner said for your safety, it’s best to stay inside the villa."

"Alright."

Eleanor turns around and goes back inside.

After the villa’s door closes, Eleanor’s expression instantly turns cold.

Something’s not right; her subconscious feels there’s something off about all this.

Even if Alaric Faulkner was concerned for her safety, he shouldn’t prevent her from going out. He might have people follow her to ensure her safety.

Eleanor feels as if something has happened unbeknownst to her.

Aunt Chen will come back later; maybe she’ll have to wait for that to fish for information, Eleanor’s eyes flash with a dark light.

Moments later, Aunt Chen returns from grocery shopping.

Seeing Eleanor sitting in the living room, Aunt Chen politely and respectfully asks, "Madam, is there anything specific you’d like to eat today? I’ll make it for you."

Eleanor has already repressed all her emotions, appearing no different, as she smiles faintly, "Aunt Chen, has anything major happened outside lately?"

"No, Madam."

Aunt Chen’s gaze is steady, her psychological quality exceptionally good.

Eleanor deepens her smile, saying, "Alright, I’m just too bored, wanted to ask."

She extends her hand towards Aunt Chen, "Can I play a game on your phone for a bit?"

Aunt Chen’s expression falters, somewhat embarrassed, "Madam, I didn’t bring my phone today."

Eleanor shows a hint of regret, "Is that so? Then forget it, you go ahead and cook."

"Okay." Aunt Chen breathes a sigh of relief and heads into the kitchen with the groceries.

Watching her back, Eleanor’s face turns cold and stern.

There is indeed a problem!

Something happened outside, or perhaps something involving Alaric Faulkner, so it must be kept from her.

An hour later, Aunt Chen finishes cooking and brings the dishes upstairs to call Eleanor for a meal.

Aunt Chen pushes open the bedroom door, but unexpectedly feels a pain in her neck and collapses softly.

Eleanor has a few silver needles meant for stimulating acupoints to calm nerves during insomnia, now they’re coming in handy.

She fiddles with Aunt Chen’s body, successfully finds the phone, and quickly dials Yvette Ray’s phone number.

"Hello?" Yvette Ray’s voice comes through.

"Yvette, it’s Eleanor..."
