Chapter 843: Thomas Quincy’s Fiancée
CHAPTER 843: CHAPTER 843: THOMAS QUINCY’S FIANCÉE
Alaric Faulkner looked at Eleanor Sterling and asked, "So, how did it go? What did Thomas Quincy say over there?"
Eleanor Sterling answered truthfully, "He might not be able to come over for the time being, but he’s arranged for someone else to come, someone from the Nash Family."
Eleanor wasn’t too familiar with the situation at Thomas Quincy’s side. She only hoped for a resolution; as long as Hazel Langley was safe, the process didn’t matter.
At that moment, Eleanor’s phone rang again.
Seeing the number, her eyes lit up instantly.
It was from the person she had sent out to find Clara Thornton. The call now must mean they’ve found Clara’s whereabouts.
She quickly swiped to answer, "How is it?"
"Miss Sterling, we’ve found Clara Thornton’s whereabouts. Should we bring her back?"
Eleanor nodded, "Yes, arrange for people to bring her to the Faulkner Family."
After hanging up, Eleanor sighed.
The chaotic situation had finally shown some signs of resolution; it was considered good news.
In fact, Clara Thornton was a very simple girl, which is why she had such a misunderstanding, but she actually misunderstood her relationship with Thomas Quincy...
Eleanor couldn’t help but smile; she thought perhaps the two of them might just become a couple.
However, for now, she needed to deal with the pressing issues at hand. In time, she would naturally help to match them up.
Eleanor looked at Alaric Faulkner and said, "They’ve found Clara Thornton, and I’m having them bring her back now."
Alaric thought for a moment and said, "It’s best to handle this secretly. I’m starting to suspect that her previous incident was caused by Franklin Faulkner. If he finds out Clara is fine, he might target her again."
Eleanor found Alaric’s words reasonable and nodded, "Alright, I’ll instruct them right away."
"The person from the Nash Family you mentioned might be Thomas Quincy’s fiancée."
Alaric’s words left Eleanor stunned.
"Thomas Quincy’s fiancée?"
That guy has a fiancée? Then what about Clara Thornton?
In an instant, Eleanor began to worry for her good friend. Just a moment ago, she was delighted to have found Clara, but now it felt like she had fallen from heaven to hell, drenched by a bucket of cold water.
Eleanor quickly grabbed Alaric, asking, "What’s going on? Tell me quickly."
Alaric wrapped his arm around her waist, bringing her to the sofa; he clearly intended to explain the situation in detail.
Ten minutes later, Eleanor finally understood the story.
In short, the Quincy Family and the Nash Family have been close for many years, with numerous intermarriages. Naturally, in this generation, they’ve also arranged an engagement.
Nancy Nash is Thomas Quincy’s fiancée. The two families are well-matched, a perfect union.
After listening, Eleanor frowned deeply.
Clara Thornton is an orphan; how can she possibly compete against someone with Nancy’s background?
It seems like the romance she was hopeful about was destined to end in vain.
Seeing Eleanor frown, Alaric chuckled softly and said, "I know what you’re worried about, but your friend may still have a chance."
Eleanor looked at him, "Hmm? How so?"
"As long as Thomas Quincy likes her, he can break off the engagement with the Nash Family. Just like before with us, if you like each other, you can overcome any obstacle."
Eleanor nodded, acknowledging the truth in his words.
But as she thought about it, something felt off.
She suddenly raised her head to look at Alaric, "What do you mean by that! Are you saying my background doesn’t match yours?"
Although the Sterling Family was indeed like that before, she’s now the Keating Family’s heiress.
Could a Keating not be a match for him? Does he want to marry a royal princess? She felt the Keating Family was not necessarily inferior to a royal princess.
Seeing Eleanor get angry, Alaric quickly stepped forward to placate her, "Eleanor, you’ve misunderstood, I didn’t mean that."
"Then what do you mean? If you don’t explain clearly today, don’t expect to have it easy."
Alaric looked helplessly; are pregnant women always this unreasonable?
But with his wife, besides pampering and coaxing, what else could he do?
